Reporting in MBP Retina 15 inch 512Gb : )

this macbook pro retina 13' 256 GB is getting slower and slower... i didnt felt it smoother compared to old OS.. previous OS is better for me.. i dont like yosemite except for those continuity features

i did a full re install.. so far no prob of slowing down for me.. i can't compare the smoothness prior to mavericks because im a new mac os user.. so no complain from me yet..

What SSD brand did you get anyway? Samsung, Sandisk or Toshiba?

Hello sifus,
If I want to do clean install of Yosemite, will the Time Machine backed up all my apps/software? Or I need to reinstall all of them? (Office, Parallel, AutoCad, etc2)

Feel that my MBP getting slower when using autocad and excel. Boot up also a bit slow!

Yeah, Time Machine backups everything, as long as you don't exclude items from the backup.

Edit : I would like to clarify that, it does not backup items such as trashes and caches. You can view the standard exclusions list by going to

/System/Library/CoreServices/backupd.bundle/Contents/Resources/StdExclusions.plist

and open the StdExclusions.plist using TextEdit, those are standard items that will not be included in Time Machine backup.

my macbook can turn on all of the sudden .. did the SMC reset but ntg. should i consult the service center? @@

Can you hear startup sound, fan noise ? Anything on the display ?

Ntg on the display though...no start up noise..ntg ><

Anyways sent to service center and see what they can do..still under warranty..

Just hopefully my files wont be lost ..did not back up thm @@

I think that's the right decision since you're still under warranty.

Next time, you should backup using Time Machine .

Next year, if Apple refresh the rmbp after April.....
Do we also need pay 6 % of the rmbp price?

Welcome on board. I got mine last week haha....but not so high spec like yours tho haha yet satisfied....

if only they carry 1Tb in store i would have choose that config..

i did not go full specs, 2.5 to 2.8ghz, i thought the rm900 not worth the 0.3ghz diff, so i just went for the 1tb, really needed the space, as previously on 512gb on my mba really sux, so better to get 1tb now, more storage space hopefully can come before new year
