QUOTE(invisiblelim @ Nov 2 2015, 10:17 AM) previously i use Late-2013 model, even i closed lid or sleep overnight, only consume 1-2% of battery, but this time, after few hour it consume 13% of battery.. Maybe, at that time you have many updates to download. Usually happens when you specify auto update this will happen.

QUOTE(silverwave @ Nov 3 2015, 11:40 AM) Hi, i just noticed that my 2 weeks old laptop has a minor uneven coat inside the Magsafe 2 charging point (right below the 5 points). I can't seem to put my finger in to touch but i used a name card to feel and it seemed normal. I'm just wondering if the Magsafe charger caused it? Looks more like a manufacture issue to me. It looks something like the picture below but it's just a small tiny part. mine also shows wear all around the charging pot which is mainly due to the action of the magnetic head that couples to the port. As far as I am concern the pins are not deformed and its charging then, its good to go. Just wanted to point that the magsafe charger do not have any grounding, so sometimes can get leakage around the casing....

QUOTE(silverwave @ Nov 3 2015, 02:06 PM) I see, so does it mean that we will be seeing more in the future? I've only charged it twice. About the grounding, i thought i felt a slight sensation on the palm rest when using the laptop while being charged. More or less like in your picture plus the corners where the adapter slides to meet the pins. Can't be helped as the materials is anodised aluminium which is kinda soft for both adapter and notebook. Don't worry, as your notebook age and builds character, you will no longer baby it like when just bought. Use it well

About the grounding, i thought i felt a slight sensation on the palm rest when using the laptop while being charged. The current sensation will not bother you as you get used to it. So far no issues with the notebook or health wise.

QUOTE(dannykhoo17 @ Nov 3 2015, 03:18 PM) I didn't change anything, so its still Malaysia store.. After i posted that image iMovie can update already haha. iPhoto still can't update because its not compatible with El Capitan (?) Yup, in El Capitan the newer software is Photos. But when you open for the 1st time, Photos will migrate all data from iPhoto to Photos. Should be good to go. New interface but useful than in iPhoto.

QUOTE(sfotsy @ Nov 3 2015, 08:03 PM) Hi I am using 13 inch non retina model, but i think yours shall be better in colour graphic as Apple computer. Just wonder do you downloading music from your MacBook Pro? As far as I know, the colour settings are basically the same in either retina or non retina. The only difference is that the resolutions are different. Retina packs more pixels for a given area when compared to non-retina. By having more pixels, zooming will be better. That is why with retina display its with higher clarity. Photos would look sharper and more vivid.

QUOTE(halofujima @ Nov 4 2015, 01:29 PM) Anyone can advise me where is the quickest and cheapest place to replace my macbook pro screen ? My stupid iphone cable head slip in between the keyboard and screen when it was in my bag and when sandwich it crack and the display have lines / disorted Still able to use but only 60% of display is usable Yikes How did this happen bro? I too use a bag and i also have cables with it. Did the notebook open when it was in your bag whilst in transport ? AFAIK, mbp screens aren't common replacement parts. Thats probably why resellers take too much lead time to order. The best bet is just to and ask through all the resellers. I don't think there is any 3rd party resellers for the notebook, for iPhone and such there are abundance around. Bro, an external monitor is another option but then again it will limit your mobility somewhat. Hope you can resolve the issue soon. All the best.

QUOTE(qachak30 @ Nov 4 2015, 11:21 PM) mine is stock at the moment, normally i open 4 ppt and 7~12 excel files to cross check finance numbers thats why its laggy Mine is also stock rMBP 13" 8Gbram + 256gb SSD. Why not upgrade to the new OS, I upgraded from mavericks and it was hell lot of improvements. Furthermore, ppt and excel files should be ok. I also open mail, pages, numbers, all running in the background without any ills. Recommend you to also download 'Memory Clean' app, its free to use and it shows you which app is taking the most of your ram at any given time.

QUOTE(qachak30 @ Nov 5 2015, 04:47 PM) mine is the most basic model... but with hardcore ppt and excel usages only... thanks bro for the app, currently im using it actually i clean every 1 hour just to clear-off the laggy part hehehe Adware Medic and Disk Doctor are the other two apps that I am using that compliments the memory clean app to keep my mac running smoothly. Adware medic is for getting rid of all the unwanted adware that might latch to the system while we surf around. Disk Doctor takes care of the hard disk. Very useful when we need to clear some space, unfortunately that app isn't free. This post has been edited by jumpstat: Nov 6 2015, 07:35 AM

QUOTE(loon1983 @ Nov 13 2015, 12:28 PM) going to buy a case later, btw do we need screen protector? any suggestion brand or price? TQ all Congrats on your purchase. Do you use your laptop in harzadous conditions? i.e. Outside in dusty areas? if not then no need for protection IMHO. If you do carry your laptop around but use indoors, then all the screen needs is a occasional wipe with soft cloth. Thats what I do anyways. There are many brands with cases. For me I purchase a laptop bag which has an internal case just for the rmbp. As I need to bring also chargers, etc for office work. There are expensive though so choose carefully what ur needs are. QUOTE(loon1983 @ Nov 13 2015, 12:48 PM) no outdoor use, always in starbucks online only... thinking of screen protector since some complain the screen will tear off... i think better buy at apple store then outside right? I don't get what e mean by 'screen will tear off"? Kindly explain... AFAIK, there is a special coating on the glass. IFAIK the glass is like gorilla glass, super strong but can easily damage if keen pointy stuff. Anyway, APPLE do not recommend any cleaning fluids as it can eat into the aluminium coating or even destroy the special charting on the screen.

QUOTE(westlife @ Nov 13 2015, 11:09 PM) no problem with lighting at all as it is transparent. if you use the moshi clearguard one (although expensive) but you do not really feel so much while typing on it as it is rather thin. It does not affect typing. thanks ..

QUOTE(silverwave @ Nov 14 2015, 12:09 PM) Hi all, back with more updates regarding this mark that i posted a couple of weeks back. I called Mac City about it and they asked me whether there's any issue with the charging, i said no as i've only charged it twice. They asked me to bring it in since i asked them if it's a leak from inside the charging point. I'm not sure if it was there when i got it or it happened over time after using though I'm sure i did not do it. What do you guys think? Is it urgent to get it checked or go when i have other issues in the future? From the picture below, it looks different under different lighting conditons. IMO, its not happening at the contacts. If it was at the contacts, then I would want it to be rectified. As is, it looks like a blemish on the surface of the aluminium with its coating. As it is an aluminium unibody, there shouldn't be any issues with rusting. So having said that, I might just let it fly till there is other issues in the future.

QUOTE(silverwave @ Nov 16 2015, 10:12 PM) That's what i thought too, thanks for the feedback. Just curious though, do you think MacCity will touch up the layer or change the whole side frame when i take it in? Initially i was worried they will need to open it up and it might induce scratches on other parts of the surface. I have no idea, but most probably they would do a touch up as it is so small area and secluded. Like I said, since it is not affecting the laptop in any way, just let it be. But then again, we have paid top dollar for perfection, right?

QUOTE(westlife @ Nov 26 2015, 11:41 AM) Haha of course this is not meant for daily usage pattern but more for emergency charging. Same as charging using power bank. Can we purchase such a cable, I mean a cable with charging port end to end? And how much would that be? Thanks. BTW can a battery bank provide the backup power to a rMBP?
