well...as most of us known...
vios aren't cheap...even when they sold it 2nd...
it's market force price that this particular model enjoy a good RV in malaysia market....

so let get back to main point....
if the vehicles is being keep in well care by previous owner...
and even it have a toyota brand...an over 100k++km millage vehicles "surely" need some attention
UNLESS the previous owner good on the car maintenance...
i think it should be OK price biggrin.gif

6 years old car = 21,000++ km per year

even if the owner was religiously taking the car for service at the service center, he probably is parting ways with it now that big money will be spent soon.

absorbers normally rated for 5-8 years service life
springs normally rated 8 years service life
bushings will usually wear around this point
mountings if they are still the original ones will also wear around this point
engine and gearbox if was maintained well at the service center should be fine, but carbon deposits will be getting more significant, carbon cleaning recommended worst case overhauling.

i am going to assume you can afford 40-50k car so here goes:

2010 Ford Focus - this model depreciates alot so you're getting a really good car for a really low price, spare parts might be on the pricier side because this is a C-segment conti not a B-segment ckd japanese brand car (vios/city) but normal maintenance is cheap.

2010 nissan latio - looks boring and bland but is cheap to maintain and major parts are quite affordable for its segment.

else u might want to consider the new p2 axia

mileage quite high.

just for comparison a similar used 2009 merc e230 v6 avantgarde v6 w211 is rm155k while a recon 2009 merc e220 cdi w212 is rm175k which you can buy with new car interest rates and diesel fuel savings means beyond 500km per tank but if you're not into diesels then a petrol version would cost you in the range of a brand new CLA if it is recon like this recon 2009 merc e250 cgi w212 it is a 1800cc engine with turbo (CGI) the e230 is also around the same price range plus minus a rm5000.

Sifu Zenix,

Seeking your best advise. My friend wanted to sell his 2003 Mazda 6 (1st generation). It is 1.8cc hatchback model, imported from UK with current mileage at 130K. It is currently under 2nd ownership. Wanted to let go at RM 23K since this model is manual transmission.

Would you think it is a good buy? Anything should I pay attention to? icon_question.gif

Thank you very much. notworthy.gif

Hi I've been researching on BMW cars especially their E46 but am constantly fearful that if buying a <10 yr old car would probably set me btwn 30-40k.

Due to current credit limit, I am limited with a budget abt 60-70k, would appreciate any current owners and sifu's to give their inputs;

I'm currently considering the following;

http://www.mudah.my/Bmw+e46+b+-29195530.htm

to be used for daily short drive within KL area, with occasional travel outside to Cyberjaya and outstation i.e. JB, Ipoh once or twice in a quarter
