thinking of buying a jazz 1.5L as well. but also considering nissan Xgear. hard to decide.
price difference is RM10k. Have not really test drive yet. Wonder how much differenc in term of "boot" space to put things.
I know they are not the same type of cars and hard to compare. Any comment is welcome.

last time i did test drive livina xgear,
1. good NVH (better then vios 2nd gen) cruising at 130km/h with no obvious outside or wind noise,
2. accelerate quite good for 1.6 engine, (i think better then vios, if not similar i can say)
3. its 4 speed gbx as good as vios 4 speed gbx,
4. boot space is huge at the back n legroom for rear passenger (after i adjust to my position) also big
5. with impul 17' rims, absorber n rear muffler quite nice (but xtra rm10k just for all that)
6. price rm86k if i'm not mistaken (that time without no discount as its just enter the market)

one thing if u want to consider x gear, the ground clearance is higher compare to jazz, so if u like a bit rugged style then x gear suite u bro..

I like Honda jazz alot but I really don't mind picking the xgear....from earlier, I've liked this livina xgear...I'm not an MPV guy, I rather drive a SUV than a Wish or Estima, at least for naw....but I seem not mind drive a Xgear...

as I said, I like the design and seem like a 'mini MPV' to me, myb mini look sporty so its acceptable styling compare to whale insight or wish...Yet it has the practical space to boot, IMO, much more than JAzz this is where the JAzz loses out to xgear

so I suppose xgear can be used /utilized as a family car or 'MPV'? As IDK about xgear much, if it does....for future proof, I strongly advise you go for xgear without a doubt.

Jazz is no doubt contemporary, n snazzy i.t.o. power and responsiveness, is there....if amad has already sed the acceleration as good if not better than Vios (which is quite quick btw), then I'm sold....Jazz too common otr oredy...somemore xgear look nice and (edit) unlike jazz which good looking in a 'distorted way'. Xgear is balance, low and practical for family so it seem.

Put in a 17" rim, Waw...
Go xgear ATW


P/S Since we're on this xgear, can I get more information about it. is 86k an impuls price , how about the standard? 1.6L only? got 2L?

How does it compare to Wish and if not as big as the wish, but is xgear ideal/decent enough for family use of 2-4 kids, how about +grandparents? 7 seater?

I like to toy with the idea what mpv-like car i want to get nextime when i settle down. I like xgear the most for the compact, balance look

Any real owner feedback, good or bad?

P/S I might interested in waiting for the honda vezel also, but dono will land in msia or not or what price will it be, eventhough, using jazz 1.5L engine only Z.Z Seem underpowered leh for a crossover...unless got turbo....

I think Honda Vezel vs xgear more suitable haha

i was trying to view an xgear at show room the other day but i cannot see it. only got livina.

i will choose jazz..livina xgear look fugly to me

OKOK la, not too bad....at least not almera-ish lol but srsly, lastnight i sat on almera, quite ok also, since it was at night and at a glance, i mistaken it for vios...then my fren the owner sed, its almera lol got push start stop button leh

the xgear front mcm sikit murano...i mean got abit heritage tat make d front 'livable'. the front headlight is very 'xiang' (bright look)




I havent gone thru the specs yet.
If the price difference by 10k, especially if it's bigger than jazz for having versatile 5-7 seaters and coupled with relatively powerful performance, the whole package will blow Jazz away although Jazz alone that car, I rilly rike but when compare to a more wholly package especially for future family proof...its a no brainer if go for looks only and jazz is pretty but quite distorted way unlike the 2005 jazz...that one cute dao die

the ground clearance higher cos the site describe this car for 'adventure' so i'm sure this car more durable in harsher environment especially u can bring the whol crowd there while the jazz, you can only 5 at most in the crampiest situation somemore...4 on a long trip

What does this Xgear feature?

How many Airbags? ESC? ABS? VSC? All-disc? Push-start? How many speakers?

To sum it up, the good ride comfort and easily accessible performance are big plus points for the X-Gear, along with the generous rear legroom and boot volume. It’s not the best equipped car around, though, and keen drivers are much better served in a Fiesta or Swift. Driven both, n here's my 2cents

Cabin Space: X-Gear
Excellent rear passenger legroom

Rear boot space: X-Gear
Slightly wider than Jazz but definitely longer from lip to back of rear seats

NVH: X-Gear's seats are comfier than d more practical-Ultra seats

Pickup, driving & chassis dynamics: Almost draw

FYI, X-Gear has d same amount of ground clearance as d sister Grand Livina

D only thing that might trouble my thoughts is the roughly similarly priced Grand Livina tats
- more practical
- mechanically d same except d longer chassis
- extra 2-seats tat can even fold-away when not needed
- has a more usable center aircon vent

I might be a livina or xgear owner say, 4 years from now lol

someone asked me why not Suzuki SX4. I have never paid attention to Suzuki.
Any good points for SX4? Maintenance wise, Nissan should be cheaper?

last time i attract more towards x gear compare grand livina at that time.. but my wife like grand livina more coz its more spacious n practicality.. i like x gear coz its rugged style..

Xgear 5-7 seaters? I thought it is only 5 seaters, like the jazz

Almost bought x-gear on 31st December 2013, but hold the thoughts when a close mechanic bro advise to take the 2014 car than the 2013 car even it is cheaper. So am swallow back my urge and wait till after CNY 2014.

Have test drive the X-gear and love it so much. Compare difference by 5k to Grand Livina, I still prefer the X-Gear. Who needs the extra 2 seats when I hardly pick up any passenger with me except for my partner.

Secondly, the resell value doesn't affect me much either because I will use a car for more than 8-10 years.

Love the boot space, love the suspension. Love the sporty look. The interior is simple but I can accept it. GPS can always use my Galaxy Note 3.

Conclusion... Can't wait to get one.

For Suzuki SX4 the maintenance should be low cause it service each 10k. For nissan x-gear is 5k. For practical you better take nissan x-gear.

Nissan x-gear is spacious inside. The boot is big. Tested to revv until 150km /h it still stable but few a bit floating compare to suzuki swift.

The best part is the steering is damn light very easy to park your car.

Compare to Jazz, i would think x-gear is more practical. You can drive in city or balik kampung without issue on the space to put luggage or food or durian or your lovely dog.
