Sigh... went to have a look on the Jazz yesterday, found out there's actually a lot of detailing provided in Jazz compared to X gear. No doubt the space is slightly small to X gear, but interior quality wise all better than x gear. X gear dash board looks plastic to me after I viewed Jazz.... Argh. Putting me in a lot of dilemma. Price wise, JAzz is RM72k compare to X gear RM84k (can get around RM80k).
Have you all know that Nissan cars always have problems after 4 years or reach 100k km? This is the info I got from some of my friends who owns Nissan cars. Usually at suspension and occurrence of noise. Wonder if any Nissan cars owner can verified this?
Is Jazz or most japanese cars experience obvious wind noise when drive on Highway?

I have been driving my previous Sentra N16 for almost 9 years and odo meter reached almost 350k km and I did not face any problems you mentioned above, just change those wear and tear parts like absorber, spark plug, tires...... nothing major problems occur before, now driving the Teana also almost 3 years and so far nothing happen. I suspect of the occurrence of noise from the suspension like your friend`s case, I think this is due to the worn out absorber and some bushing, change all these minor parts will solve the problem.

Today went test drive Jazz, mitsubishi asx, toyota rush, avanza, and x gear ( 2nd time).
To be honest, X gear still remain my 1st choice in terms of handling, comfortability, suspension and not much noise. The x gear i tested is at 40k mileage. Jazz tested was at 100k mileage n feels like my 6 years old myvi.
Now i care less about the interior of the x gear for its comfort n performamce. But the SA said new X Gear with facelift will be out soon. So I will wait another 1 to 2 months.

Unless the owner drives frequently, raking up more than 20k km a year...

Getting Started

Of course x-gear wins everytime.. honda jazz are for small people and small family sized citizen while x gear will provide the space you need anytime.
Don't have to fear that much of the engine as they are from nissan.. If you buy cars that people drive, you can't go wrong. Maintenance and spare part are plentiful. Don't buy cars that are not "Malaysian Favorites" as you'll be an alien at no man's land.
As why did i choose Jazz compared to x gear is just a small x factor that Honda gave inside Jazz.. I dont want you to follow my decision as they are not yours.. btw, yes that X factor would be the decisive for many people in various occasion.. as how people looks Nissan X gear is beautiful while some says its fugly. Same like people say Jazz is fugly too whilst some people admires the beauty and design and such..

QUOTE(Kendall @ Feb 9 2014, 08:22 PM) I was more looking forward for some upgrade to the interior finishing. Hopefully not the beige fabric like the grand livina.. that put me off a lot.

But during the test drive, I was hoping to find the comfort feel as much as I found with X-gear. To be honest, my myvi is more comfortable compared to the Jazz I drove which surprised me a lot. May be I should drive a newer Jazz to find out more?

You should test drive the newer Jazz... but then again all Honda dealers out there only have the Jazz Hybrid for test drive... If you wanna test the Jazz Petrol like I do, you're out of luck...

Is Jazz or most japanese cars experience obvious wind noise when drive on Highway? My friend is driving x-gear for the pass 1 year so far there is no problem with the car. Is comfortable to drive and to my surprise it save fuel cause all the time you no need to accelerate the car. It will move once you move your gear to D. Maybe because it using the same engine as grand livina 1.6 but with less 100kg weight. Wind noise is not so good, you still heard the engine noise during acceleration. Regarding stability is quite good as well compare to suzuki swift which i driving. I agree it look plastic for the interior, but you will value the space it have. Really useful. Hope this help you. Thanks and it helps. I agree with you on the comfort drive, but didn't notice too much on the engine noise during acceleration. I do agree with the obvious stability as I was testing 4 cars at the same day.

One thing is they did not do balancing of my front tires when deliver the car to me. When reach 100km/h steering shake like crazy. I checked the wheels and obviously no balancing done becuse no metal tapes on the rims of both tires. Back tires got. I went to service center and they do balancing and now ok liao. Very disappointed with the QC chdck before deliver car.

Mind you share more on the car performance, fuel consumption and so...

I was driving iswara and waja before. Fuel consuption is good. So far better than my old iswara.

I found that my new Xgear fuel consumption is quite high. One litter only can travel about 10.5km only in KL driving. Similar to my 13 years old Waja. I tot it should be more fuel economical. maybe there is something wrong with my Xgear tuning?
