yes and no.
usually below RM500 wont kena tax.

but however, its all depending on the description.
if its states "plastic box" or "plastic casing" automatic 20% tax - basicly, depending on the description. if its in their tax book. automatic kena.
if its stated aluminium accessories etc (might kena tax. depending on the kastam on duty)
if the box is BIG. and the item is sikit. (might kena hold at kastam for you to go and declare - open up infront of them)
if the box is BIG and the description OR the value is below RM500 (also kena hold at kastam for you to declare)

you can break the shipment.
preferbly you separate it to 1st shipment all plastic stuff. 2nd shipment all non-plastic.
plastic stuff usually kena tax (20%). while the aluminium/parts wont (subjective on the kastam officer on that time - becoz i neva kena. lol).

else, they will hold your stuff and you gota go to lcct to declare it.
if your parts x kena tax. but ur plastic case kena tax, even mafan.
coz you gota go to the office and ask them to do a different paperwork (charge you rm18-20)
for the plastic case and then you gota pay the tax. hence wasting your time
(i kena before becoz of 1 shipment 1 invoice. 1/4 of the item is in their taxbook. so kena lor. wasting 1/2 day there for nothing)
