based on my experience, i prefer 70% for FWS. anything darker will give poor visibility at night+rain.

Puspakom and JPJ are two different agencies.. regardless if JPJ approved tint or not, most likely will not pass. Very clear tint will have higher chance to pass.. puspakom can be very inconsistent in this case.

Try to use runner.. they can help to kautim..

hi. there are some good cheap tints.. for example if you go to Layang car accessory shop, they have Nanotint and some UV400 tints.. what turn me off is the workmanship (done by non-local).

good tints are a bit pricey yes, but it comes with good workmanship. of course, there are horror stories from so-called authorized tint installer but normally it will be a one-off case.

i have used cheap tints before (supposedly some korean brand). never fade and heat rejection lasted at least 5 years. but, the installer didn't use towel to cover the door cards (only on dashboard). the result? i needed to wipe off the mess when i got back home. will i do it again? no.

Ya must be the lower end vkool. Not elite range.

Installed 3M Crystalline 70 on the front windscreen. RFID works flawlessly behind the tint but to my surprise, Smart Tag doesn't. Need to roll down windows and stick the tag out. No biggie as I use RFID more.

some of the claimed TSER are too good to be true, can rival or even better than PhotoSync IRD.

i echo this statement. 97% iRR cannot work with smartag. < 95% can



actually vkool elite is not so elite one.. only 94% IRR

of late, i notice some tints (like hamel, rhinepro, xpel) cost more than 3m. you can check what is 3m latest price now.

back then, vkool & 3m (crystalline) are the top brands. but nowadays, there seems to be a lot of alternatives. in the us, xpel seems to be popular.

depends on two things:
1 - your windscreen coverage amount. it needs to be enough to cover both glass and tint
2 - tint shop - some applicators do provide windscreen claim service. so you can do both windscreen replacement + apply new tint.

yeah that is what i did back in the old days. what i noticed they pouspakom fella didnt bother to test the windows at all LoL.

i have CR70 and installed the RFID inside the windscreen (means rfid is behind the tint, in fact it is behind the black sunshade) and can pass through all rfid lanes with no issue.

its always the same VLT. 70% front, 50% front side and any number for the rest of the windows.

the problem is, most people relate VLT for tint film only, not the window darkness (glass + tint film).

its the interpretation.

coz most high vlt tints are less effective in blocking heat (low IRR & TSER). 70% vlt film is the min to be effective.

3m and active-e tint do provide > 80% vlt film (which fws will end up getting > 70% vlt) but it is as good as no tint haha

if you use Smart Tag alot, for front windscreen, get something like 95~97% IRR. this is borderline already for smarttag use..

get the highest IRR for the rest of the windows.

Aiyak.. 70% IRR is quite low to be honest. I'm not familiar with raytech but you can ask the SA, how much you need to topup to get > 90% IRR spec? Nego from there.

i have CR70 on the windscreen. back then, the installer asked me which 3M logo to remove and remain. the logo was removed easily by using a cleaner (probably alcohol). Installed at B1.

did you receive the 3M digital certificate?
