I've only used VKool and I have to say it serves me well for 10+ years.

Is there any alternative brand today that is as good? Or more innovative brands?

I don't need security btw, parang better than security film tongue.gif

Agree with you. All my cars use V-Kool Elite since day one. More than 10 years, as good as new. No peeling, no bubbling, etc. thumbsup.gif

Hi all,

I am getting my car soon. I am looking at tinting 3M's crystaline series. Anyone here has any experience with it?

I know the tint affects Smart - Tag in a way but what about GPS signal? This is my main concern

Modern GPS antenna should work, my Mi 9 SE work well in my V-Kool Elite tinted car. Old GPS antenna will have some trouble locking to the satellite signals.

As for Smart Tag, need to slow down a bit to let the reader communicate with the tag. Too much IR blocking whistling.gif

Go for Vkool if you have budget. New car worth to invest.

Avoid 3m tints. I used it, and after a while, it will have all scratches on it as they are using the sputtering technique.

imho, Go for vkool or huper optic.

Cannot be wrong with V-Kool. Mine already more than 11 years. As good as new, no scratches, no bubling, no peeling, etc. thumbup.gif

my dad's old car last time cw V-Kool, was installed by the SA as free gift, cw card so I know it is kind of top spec. It work great on day 1 until we let go of it, no issue whatsoever, heat rejection remains great. maybe extensive use of metallic materials helps? But I remember it makes the smaller/ black color smart tag unable to use, I believe due to IRR% at 97% is the main reason for it

You're right. metallic materials helps and it last a long time. As for smart tag use, I just wave out over the window. sweat.gif Another drawback - GPS signals inside the car... tend to be very low. Not easy to use navigation app. sweat.gif
