Hii all sifu...i was quoted by 3m authorised tinting shop 1.3k for
front : light shade 80
rear : ebony 40
side : scotchshield

is that reasonable?

hi, u gotta bargain bargain and bargain with this shop 1
even when u drive ur car there ready to tint, still can bargain
that's my experience with them (install there once. few years later for another car, i went there n ask for price, same experience so i straight away go to another new authorized 3M shop to do)

besides, i think better to go for better film for front n rear. im not sure about ebony 40 but heat rejection of light shade 80 is not really good according to the paper spec

Guys, can anyone help me decide which one is the best in term of value.
I went to 3 authorised shops. got offered above. The table, first column is front windscreen, 2nd column sides, and 3rd is back windscreen. If 2 column only, it means 1st column is front windscreen and the 2nd column is the sides and back windscreen.

Few dilemmas
1) Ebony40 is not in 3M official website.
2) 3M crystalline, i not sure they offering me which one, if i remember correctly, it is either 60 or 70.
3) When i went to Raytech, the manager showed me his sample Llumar film and did measurement. He said Llumar's spec and real measurement are not same(real film lower). I cannot say I believe him 100% as he could cheat easily as well. Din't confirm back with Llumar.
4) Raytech's manager is also not being clear. When I asked what film will be used for front and back windscreen in AX and FX series, he said it is part of package and he will use AX/FX films for both of the windscreen. However, it is not security type. Does this actually exist? AX and FX series, but not security?  rclxub.gif macam trying to con me.

Noted. Thanks. Yeah I exclude it from my consideration.

maybe you can consider to top up n go for crystalline for whole car if you do not need security film

hi sifus, need some guidance

i m selling my ride privately and getting a new Jazz

1) my old ride is with raytech that i installed back in yr2008. The car will need to send to puspakom for inspection as the procedure. Do i need to remove the tint? Spent quite alot of money for it actually. it would be great if able to utilize by next owner

2) new ride which is Honda's and they offer tint packages by 3m and Ecotint. It just nice that the SA is going to give me some discount for it. Do you guys recommend to take it? (my budget actually is around that price thou) If so, among 3m horizon safety 3mil and Ecotint Ray barrier 4, which 1 is more preferable?

thanks sifus!!

original 3m tint should come with a E-Warranty document & have 3M water mark on film itself (if i not wrong)
http://solutions.3m.com.my/wps/portal/3M/e...ces/Warranties/

Or you can check the Authorize Installer Dealer Name,

i got the e warranty and the installer is authorized dealer.
but then all 3m film (crystalline and non crystalline series) also comes with watermark. therefore i would like to double confirm whether the tint is as stated in the e warranty card.
anyway, thanks for your feedback smile.gif

this a bit difficult since no any model number on film it-self. But you can check the film color , use IR meter test Visible Light Transmission (VLT), UV Rejection (UVR) & Infrared Rejection (IRR). roughly 50% can know are the tint is stated in the e warranty card.

alright

no. even if it was listed at the website as authorized installer doesn't mean the installer will be installing the original 3M tint. i was cheated by them.

best part is 3M is not helping out at all. i'd rather go for v-kool for peace of mind.
my e-warranty card also stated the model of the tint but what was applied on my car was some cheap tint that worth less than RM100. yup, installed by authorized 3M installer. suggest you bring your car to 3M for verification. read below how i was cheated by 3M
