My friend's car - a bmw was fixed with a well known safety tint - 4 mil. He stopped his car at a traffic light. 2 guys in a motorbike broke the passenger glass so easily by just using a spark plug. 2 or 3 hits the entire glass shattered.

I am a bit surprised to see this. My questions are

a) Can a safety tint just be broken by an instrument made using a spark plug
b) Does different tint brands have different weak points and thieves are aware of it.
c) Safety tint should stick together right. This one the whole glass came down!
d) Does thieves can easily identify the tint type - the brand/whether safety or not?

Would appreciate those in the know how can explain so that we can protect ourselves.

You have to take into account that the original windscreen and windows have a certain % of tint from factory.
If you fix 30% tint + factory tint = lower than 30% end result.
That is why all front windscreen fix with 70% + factory tint = cannot pass JPJ 70%.

Don't know which tint can pass JPJ 70% for front windscreen.

Hi bro, sorry for the trouble caused. If u are facing problem with Ultra 70 and smartag, you can hold the the smartag on the middle of the dashboard when passing toll.  As picture below



And need reduce speed until 10km/h to let the car move with gear speed (no need to press pedal & to be slower as you can). It definitely can pass smartag. If the problem still there, you can send the car to our shop, we will check and settle the problem for u. Cheers bro

Your smart tag need to be vertical to be effective. Use Lord Gitsy's method and hold it very close to the glass. Even touching the glass is OK. Guaranteed will go through. I'm using Ultra 70 also.
