It happen at all the toll you pass by or certain toll only?
Check battery?
Try it on your friend with non metalized film?
*
Tried two tolls already. Need to wind down windoe then can detect. Battery also just replaced.
I already cut a hole on the film already. So It doesnt matter whether it is metalized or not right?
Anyway i tried it on my another car with cheapo film, it can detect.

I don't think it is ceramic film but cutting hole should be solve the problem
Well its time to invest RFID
*
Already cut the hole but still need to wind down the window. sweat.gif Does the placement of the smart tag affect the signal? i mount at the corner top right of the ws.
I have rfid too., buit my daily route toll doesnt have rfid yet. lol

I had a feeling it is metalized tint, or combo metalized + ceramic. Which good on reject heat, IR etc as well as smart tag infrared signal.
The other solutions is by opening window while using a smart tag
*
The issu is, I have already cut a hole for the smart tag on top right. But still cant detect. Need to wind down window to be detected. But that defeat the purpose of the smart tag already.

Hi guys,

I have received some pretty decent deals from dog999. But I'm still contemplating between Hamel and 3M while waiting for CMCO to be over.

I've used Llumar and 3M previously and they are pretty solid and last a long time. As of now, I am quite interested in Hamel's Royal series for its specs and feature as some users claim it is better than 3M, but there seems to be mixed reviews for their tints. On the other hand, I could also just go for 3M's Crystalline for the entire car, which is most likely the safest choice in terms of long lasting tints due to it being tried and tested.

Would be great to receive some feedback from users who have used Hamel for several years. Thank you.
*
Previously was using this 3M crystalline too. More than 3 years. Heat rejection damn good , only cons is, it disrupt smart tag detection

not worth doing it every 1-2 years
tint are supposed to last as long as your car

it is particularly bad for your rear windscreen that has demister wires
*
Max is 5 years. Even the best like vkool will degrade after 5 years. No such thing as long as the car

not to say u can't
as long as u can find someone with great workmanship, sure can
but i just don't trust a majority of the installer's workmanship out there

of all my years experience of having tint... workmanship > all
i've seen way too many cases of tint having problems due to poor workmanship, some is partly because they just want it cheap
if i can't find great workmanship, i rather not reinstall
*
the tint will stay there in perfect condition but the heat rejection already degraded, so the tint will be there just for show.

Workmanship is for the asthetic not the heat rejection. heat rejection will degrade over time and at most 5 years

If you are the installer/technician you probably can comment on the technique.
We have seeing hundred of car being installed with a lot different way as there is no specific guide doing it.

I do agree the workmanship is equally important because in the eye of customer it is aesthetic.
But end of the day, it revert back to how much does the car is expose to the UV/Heat and the film quality.

If you have cheap quality but great workmanship the film will not last long.
Take a look at those OEM installation such as Proton or Perodua. It start to bubble up within 5 years
OEM installation always have great QC before they deliver the car, thus the workmanship is at the best

Oh there is no product in the world that could last as long as your car, if yes all the business will die  dry.gif
*
Im highlighting this too but he seems to be swearing on the workmanship rather than quality. At the end of the day for him, the tint is just to look nice without any heat rejection lol.

Anway, based on his track records, well, he is famous for being know-it-all but the info he is providing errr.....

you're selling V-kool..you have both
but not those other midrange tint out there though sadly

i saw one here are even looking for sub RM1k tint which i'm pretty sure "quality of film" is no longer in the talk already
which is somewhat equivalent or worse than those OEM on proton and perodua already
*
even brands like Llumar have sub rm800 tint la. It is better than those funny brand ones. Usually establish brand have low-mid-high end range in their product line-up.

Hi guys, looking to tint my 2014 Honda City that I bought secondhand. Since its a secondhand car, not really willing to spend more than 1k on tinting. Found a brand called "Totalgard". Apparently its a Malaysian brand based in Kepong. Has anyone tried this brand? Can anyone give any reviews? More specifically their Infusion Pro series. Thanks.
*
Llumar has around rm800 price range also. 5 years warranty innm.
