Hi guys, sorry i am busy these days, sorry for late reply.
I think everybody know the front windscreen the VLT must above 70% and VLT for the side and the back should above 50% in order to compliant with JPJ rules. Centurion 4mil VLT58% is only apply for the side, should have not problem at all. In Centurion 4mil package, the front will be Raytech Ultra 70. Indeed, most of the glass is not 100% clear, so we need higher VLT film to apply on the glass to make sure it is still compliant with JPJ.

Message from Raytech Malaysia, we will still continuously offering JPJ and Polis guarantee to all customer no matter what happened.

Hi sifus,

Few days back I tinted my whole car & requested my rear windows to be tinted with Vkool 40.

When I got the receipt, the other tints were written as Vkool Auto Film, but for Vkool 40 it was stated as Vkool Super 40 Film.
I ask the person why is it not Auto Film like the others, but he told me it's the same & there's no security film on the whole car as I didn't want any security tint.
I didn't check the car or ask further since he seem quite sincere about it.

Later on when my bro check my car, he asked me why this one particular rear window is put with the sticker "V Safety" compared to the other windows "V-Kool". My heart sank as I paid a huge amount for the car tint.

Wanna ask, do those little stickers that they stick justify what film they put on? Was I being cheated or it's normal? cry.gif

Hi can you share the shop name with us so that forumers would not visit such scam like shops.

Can the situation be avoided if before we make payment...we ask for the printout receipt first...or quotation printed with proper heading...hence a 'binding' contract is done...if shop refuses...just walkaway it's just tint...and not a medicine of life and death..

Then only ensure when work begin at our car..with correct and respective tint...then payment made immediately..

Hence, product is documented by receipt of actual product...anything we bring the matter to consumer tribunal.

At times, Malaysian consumer is partly at fault because we tend to be forgiving and say never mind. For me, even RM 50 I brought the matter to consumer tribunal...it's not the value of sale but the morale behind it...don't cheat.

my 2 cents..

We will not rip you off in terms of quality.
Only the price rip you off because you getting high grade film.
If you call our dealer, you will get a lot of V-Kool mix with house brand.

As for a license holder or master license holder you have a duty to ensure that dealers conform to the rules and regulation.

Example, I'm a mcdonalds franchise holder...I could not sell nasi lemak or pau rite? Even though it's malaysian food.

My 2 cents is Vkool bend to accommodate business flexibility and of course a certain level of greed.

Even as franchise holder of focus point...there is certain brands that you can carry to ensure uniformity or standardization.

Another 3M shop now offered me RM2600.

How do we know they installed the film we wanted?
*
Simple...but long process...

1. Get a printed quote for the tint.
2. Pay deposit
3. Each 3M roll have a tag number...record the tag number.
(U can skip this process)
4. When they cut or shaped the tint to u r windows...ask for a sample..take a video if u like.
5. Sit down and wait till they finish installing to prevent swapping.
6. Make full payment and wait for e warranty.

So...I prefer to sit and wait...cos u are paying like good money...easily rm2.5 k plus...for 3 hours installation job..

I don't get paid rm2.5 k plus for half day work k...

HI ALL

Want to know tint for head lamps...would it damaged the head lamps casing with glue markings?

How long would the tint last before burn marks usually found in the top section of head lamps...I seen car headlamps with top burn marks only after 6 months..

I m planning to do... to prevent yellowing of head lamps?

I did mine on SUV for RM2600, with front screen crystalline70, side scotchshield crystalline. Civic should be cheaper I guess. Note that scotchshield and schotchshield scrystalline is different.

Is this deal good for Honda Accord ?
Quoted by SA.

The tint and coat good ?
*
My 2 cents is a bad deal...

If you are an enthusiast in auto detailing...u won't even go to outside shop to do any of it. Look at it claybar they use or orbital pad...profit maximization...one orbital pad...hod knows how many cars...

Everyone talks about glass coating...but just ask them the steps..or straight up...check their waste basket...see if the sponge become harder or got crystal residue after application.

For the price...u can put almost put a new coat of paint into your car.

What u do on glass coat it doesn't prevent chips or residue from road scratching u r car paint works...example...a tiny spec of sand going at 30 kmph would definitely scratch the car..glass coating just absorb it...but a paint would repair it.

Each 3 years cost say 2,500 so six years is 5,000...cos coat that don't repair damage.

Just go for 3M tint...crystaline and scotchshield...no problem with GPS...tested from cherating to kl...no issue..

If u want 3M tint...I can give u contact..

Anyone here has tried the new brand haverkamp? Any comment?
*
Google overseas forum...no such names as haverkamp...

Got 3M, Solargard, Vkool, Wincos and Suntek here known as Raytech...then Google 3M vs the brand above...

Fyi...from my experience...front wind screen...go for crystalline 60...just testing the water for jpj...appearance almost no visible difference from outside..

Don't forget the darker u r tint...may impair night driving...

U cut out vlt...what happens if kampung road or certain part of sections no lights...think twice...

Guys, my new car is installed with vcool tint except the front and recently Raya promo i go install some rm80 tint (i know i cheapskate) for the front with 50% rating

So far at morning time really less heat and no vision problem. But problem is at raining heavily time + night time. Really cannot see mtfk hell. Last time before tint still ok. It is common tint problem or cheap tint problem ?
*
My guess the vlt to high for night driving...50% for day ok..but nights...hope u got Dracula eyes..imagine u r eye cornea filters 50% of light...day AND NIGHT...

To ease u r problem maybe u r perma glass coat for windscreen...only rm16 at Aeon or Tesco...use sponge to apply evenly...wait till it haze...use a damp micro towel to wipe the haze off...

Smartag...may have issues but the trick is stop around the middle of smart tag then ok...

Go research metallized film high chance of gpa failure...

Try Google suntek vs 3M crystalline...

Suntek aka Raytech in Malaysia...

Walk inside 3M shop...ask for lose pieces of crystalaline 70...go raytech test it out...

Are there any car tint distributors to recommend in Labuan? seems like the big brands such 3M and Vkool do not operate there.

is it worth it to get cheaper variants or lesser known brands if i don't have better alternatives? Or better to drive to Kota Kinabalu to get a proper one done
*
Go get some good tint...I m on 3M...quite OK...only regret is should take crystaline 60 fws n side driver also same..I took 70 front..

would like to share my experience with Haverkamp, given I havent seen anyone posting their feedback on this new brand.

I went to tint my new Persona with the Haveerkamp ceramic tint yesterday at their Bandar Sunway branch. I arrivved around 12:30pm, and drove away around 4:30pm

Whilst there, was attended by their Head of Tint, Sam. He was very professional and patient. First removed my stock tint come preinstall in premium spec persona, in the process showed me how the stock tint has alreaded faded in color even I just had my car for 1 month.

Then the installation of the new tint, which went on very smoothly. Workmanship was great, no bubbles were visible so far.

After the installation. I drove away in the scorching hot sun around 4:30pm, can straightaway felt the tint is doing it work by reducing the heat into the cabin. Aircond no longer need full blast.

Just for comparison, my previous car was on 3M Crystalline 70, the Haverkamp tint I installed felt quote comparable in performance to 3M Crystalline. Again this is just my personal subjective opinion, your milage might differ.

All in all, very happy with the tint performance, and very satisfied with Sam workmanship.

will update in future for long term review.
