what is the discount for raytech given to walk in customer.  The list price looks looks slightly high.  Interest to upgrade my old tint which is about 7 yrs old

Try PM LordGitsty. Based on my reading from page 1, LYN forumers from here are satisfied with his reasonable price quoted and good customer service experience.

I'm going to the Puchong branch to have a look too after I get my car.

Any sifu using Llumar T-4-50 here?
Can give some comments / thoughts after using?
*
I experience the Llumar T-4-50 in my friend's car(Mazda 3). I would say it is a great heat resistance film as the cabin immediately cool down after 1 min A/C was switched on.

Of course, I feel just a slight heat at first after I entered the cabin which is very normal I believe, since the car was parked under a hot sun from 8.00am till 12.30pm.

Hi bro, but the TSER is only at 45% compared to Crystal 6 which is at 53%.
Does the 8% makes a lot of differences actually?
*
I'm not pretty sure how big is the 8% difference on TSER. iMO, it will not be too much because VLT on T-4-50 is also slightly lower than Crystal 6, hence it might influence the overall heat inside cabin.

Im on a tight budget here. Planned to take Raytech AX or FX. Anyone can advise me if the heat rejection really different between these two? if so-so then maybe i take AX only. Quoted RM900 after minus 500 rebate.
*
I reckon you to go for the FX instead. 8% of TSER is quite a lot of difference. But if you can top up a bit more, get MX which is good enough to have more than 50% TSER.

Hi,

I need some opinions/advice from fellow forumers.

I was looking for a security film with decent heat rejection (and not too dark) for my City and was quoted the following.

Solar Gard LX70 - front
Solar Gard LX55 - side and back
Price - RM2600

Can i get opinions on the quality of Solar Gard film and the quoted price?

Thanks!
*
Not sure about the brand above but have you survey other brands i.e RayTech, Llumar, 3M to compare the prices within the same specs range you want?

For the non-security films, the store did offer Llumar and Huper Optic as well and these brands have similar spec (TSER, etc) and price with Solar Gard. I cant remember the product names, but the prices are:

- TSER = 50%, Price = RM1350 (for all three brands)
- ceramic film, TSER = 55%, Price = RM2000 (for all three brands).

So the price tier is RM1350 - RM2000 - RM2600

When i tried all three (price) types in front of the heat lamp, the RM2k and RM2.6k ones feel similar, with the latter being security film. The RM1.35k one can still feel some heat, but the heat was significantly reduced as well.

I see. but it's better to go for security + solar for side & rear windows. As for front windscreen, best to opt for a pure heat resistance film. So far, RayTech has the highest TSER of 62% (RX film).

is that possible 3m, llumar selling at RM800 for whole sedan car?
*
I think possible if you take the lowest range. My aunt take a mid spec of 3M for rm1100.

Suggest you to go to few tint shops and survey. Before going, check out their website for their official shops location to prevent counterfeit products if you are afraid.

Sien lo... My LLumar Crystal 6 package is so hot, and I can feel the sunlight burning my arms / pants whenever I am driving under the sun.

Anyone facing this same problem too??
*
You should feel slight heat only. Hmmmm... your A/C on?

GUYS!

I have a Camry wanting to do tinting this week. Budget RM1500, want good heat rejection, at least security tint. No worry about JPJ-compliant.

I just want to ask apart from the usual 3M and LLumar, which brand is good pricing and quality? Both mentioned above are out of my league.

Thanks.

P/S its 2007 car but its under the sun most of the time. need good heat rejection especially during driving.

You may want to try Raytech MX range.
