QUOTE(romuluz777 @ Oct 28 2020, 05:22 PM) Its recommended to remove the old tint. Another option is claim the windscreen in case it damage provided you have windscreen coverageThat being said, if the rear windshield tint is removed, you risk damaging the heat tracing lines of the demister. Get a competent technician to do the job. |

QUOTE(sonotme @ Nov 7 2020, 05:01 PM) Hi is the JPJ rules for tinting (FWS VLT70%, front passenger VLT50%) is strictly followed? Normally they wont saman but will issue letter ask go PUSPAKOM for inspection I'm contemplating whether wanting to follow or put a darker tint. How much is the saman btw? If too dark, the front windscreen and front both side need to remove in order to pass the inspection |

QUOTE(MR_alien @ Nov 20 2020, 04:49 PM) If you are the installer/technician you probably can comment on the technique. We have seeing hundred of car being installed with a lot different way as there is no specific guide doing it. I do agree the workmanship is equally important because in the eye of customer it is aesthetic. But end of the day, it revert back to how much does the car is expose to the UV/Heat and the film quality. If you have cheap quality but great workmanship the film will not last long. Take a look at those OEM installation such as Proton or Perodua. It start to bubble up within 5 years OEM installation always have great QC before they deliver the car, thus the workmanship is at the best Oh there is no product in the world that could last as long as your car, if yes all the business will die |

QUOTE(MR_alien @ Nov 21 2020, 07:30 PM) some people might think it's just aesthetic in the eyes of the customer Yes you are absolutely right on the workmanship point but workmanship and quality of the film is 2 different issue but customer being customer...when the tint has problem, where will it end up again? the seller isn't it?..it always goes back to the seller especially those that promise 5-10 years warranty the seller has to dump more money on tint and more time reinstalling it i've seen my fair share of picky customer nitpicking on the tint, they really got the time to go back to claim that warranty although not me Just like your car tyre and engine |

QUOTE(MR_alien @ Nov 21 2020, 07:50 PM) you're selling V-kool..you have both Man I still sell and still give product warranty 5 years but not those other midrange tint out there though sadly i saw one here are even looking for sub RM1k tint which i'm pretty sure "quality of film" is no longer in the talk already which is somewhat equivalent or worse than those OEM on proton and perodua already At my shop, normally warranty claim arise from 2 different perspective PRODUCT DEFECT or WORKMANSHIP End of the day just don't make assumption workmanship = product quality This post has been edited by I'm V-Kool: Nov 21 2020, 09:47 PM |

QUOTE(Steponlego @ Dec 21 2020, 11:38 PM) Is it true that the tint ability to block heat degrades over time? I mean, my car tint is probably 10 years old and it doesn't look like it's peeling or anything but I'm certainly doesn't feel that the tint doing anything to block the midday heat. Yes, every product should have their lifespan It is time to get a new tint for your car |

Please do not solely rely on the warranty period offer but anything between
5 - 7 years is good bargain as Malaysia weather is on SUMMER HOT. If you want your car tint last longer, park it indoor and avoid the sun |

QUOTE(ry8128 @ Apr 5 2021, 11:37 AM) I am not using vkool. Usually 1 month after insurance renewal otherwise you required to make police reportAh, icic, ok. Btw, is there any rules like need to have a waiting period before utilising the windscreen insurance? Eg, I bought windscreen this year, but I can’t use it. I need to wait 1 year then only can use it, as the insurance company worry we abuse it. |

QUOTE(kirakun @ Apr 6 2021, 11:41 PM) That seem to be a little extreme resort lol. Yes I agree that the demister is pretty useless in Malaysia with all day long summer weather unless you are staying in high altitude areaAnyway don't think the demister is of great importance though. Frankly speaking, almost never needed to turn on the demister in all my cars for the past i'll say more than 20 years of driving. If my memory served me still, the last time i turned on the demister was when i drove a nissan sunny during rainy day at wee hours of the morning and the AC wasn't cold enough causing mist all over the windows. Since then never faced such issue on newer cars hence almost forgot there is a demister in the car |

Warranty is a compulsory document for future claim/dispute either in softcopy/hardcopy. Even if you go tribunal consumer, you will need that to prove your claim.
Salesman normally can promise everything including lifetime warranty So what if the salesman resigned? What if they damage your car during installation? That is just too risky for me to proceed even you have the word guarantee. I am commenting on supplier/manufacturer called TOTAL GARD that basically everyone is asking about it. Based on the info provided, they don't even have proper installation bay and outsource technician to do the installation which is not a proper way of doing business. THINK ABOUT IT where they supply the product in the market since they don't have own proper brand |

QUOTE(xiaomifeng @ Jun 28 2021, 02:26 AM) hahaha, this will be a totalgard review... Without proper installation bays poor workmanship is going to cost endless replacement TLDR: when i saw a vkool forumer criticized abt how bad totalgard did their job, i thought this film must be so good even v-kool got butthurt, now I wish i have driven my car to 3m or v-kool instead i forgot when i installed the film but i found a visible 3cm scratch on passenger front side even when i didn't take anybody around in that car after 3-4 days. i saw the scratch 3-4 days after installation because the installer didn't bother to wipe off the shampoo water residue after tint installation and i want the tint to cure better so i wipe it 3-4 days after. then this is when the nightmare kicks in, there is a 3cm scratch at front passenger side window. then i whatsapped the salesman immediately, he told me he would swap it for me FOC but i still didnt get a replacement yet because I am in ipoh and I only travel to KL for work. i continue wiping the tint, then i found a lot of dust trapped along the edge when i roll down the front driver window. i whatsapp the guy again, he didn't promise anything for this one. then i got very disappointed and just simply wipe my back windows and front windscreen. don't want to check anymore. after spending more time in my car, i realize that the bottom part of the windscreen is filled with dust, super huge dust spot. i didn't whatsapp the salesman. and yes, they have money for a huge factory, have plenty of employee, can't even afford to buy some board and aircond and glass door for tint installation there was a forumer who mentioned that they offer degradation warranty, they DON'T if i could go back in time, i would pay more for 3m and v-kool instead. thinking about going back and get a replacement just make me tired, not worth the money. the heat rejection is not bad, but it's still blur compare to 3m in my other car. it's like zeiss lens and hoya lens if you wear glasses. the clarity... if u wear glasses and are very picky abt the clarity you would know what i am talking abt. but if you don't, it probably wont matter to you The clarity that you mentioned will get from bad to worst as year pass and hopefully they will honor the warranty claim |
