Definitely affected.
Really have to slow down and open the side window when passing Smart-Tag lane as some toll plaza like DUKE, it won't detect my thick smart-tag reader.
On other Smart-Tag lanes like NKVE, I really have to almost stop before the barrier before it can detect.

The GPS on my Thinkware F800Pro dashcam also take 5-10 minutes before it can lock to the signal.
Phone signal not so, but Waze on my iPhone X sometimes have issue

Smart tag use infrared as signal, the VKool maybe 97-98% IRR. So it block all the signal. Either u get tint with 90-95% IRR for windscreen to get it work ok

That is another brand call Horus. Is bio nano ceramic film and TSER up to 83%. There is no issue when using smart tag or access card. Heat rejection and vision clarity is very good. This tint also have photochromic effect.

Are you using Horus tint or their supplier?
I noticed that their TSER values are much higher compared with the others like Vkool & 3M...

Whole car with horus x70 for windscreen and x50 the rest. Come free with car. Performance wise for me is excellent and after 4yrs ++ car still cool.and no bubbling or blurring.

Correction:
vkool no problem for smart tag, phone, gps, but a bit weaker signal for RF house gate.
3M no problem for phone, gps, but a bit weaker signal for RF house gate and totally cannot for smart tag.

All specs are bull shit.  Few years ago, when install new H City for wife, salesman recommend 3M and also cheaper so we tried it.  Immediately after installed and park under the sun days later, I just keep quite but my wife (she dont know any spec or tech) notice it and said how come 3M is hotter compare to my car vkool when first go into the car under the sun.  Then go to smart tag jam all the cars behind... I ask her to open windows and put out smart tag!!!

I would say you pay what you get.  Those high spec all they do is darken it until fail JPJ spec.  Those brandless cheapy u will notice will bubble on the rear screen after a year or 2.  I would put Huber Optic above 3M after feedback from friends.  Not my own exp.

You're right about vkool price.  Thats the reason the City I installed 3M to try as the salesman said almost the same (bullshited by him).  Thats also the reason why i go back to vkool for new car.

As I said "you get for what you pay".  I saw many people said vkool VLT 9x% and my xxx brand also same 9x%.  It's not the same.

My friend just got a new Forrester.  He might not want vkool, I suggested Huber Optic and not 3M.  Any Huber Optic user here?

Ah that would make sense as well. But where to find better TSER Tint though? So far in the market, I only can see Hamel and IrisPro which both have slightly higher TSER value but the VLT is also good as well.

Just dont go to windscreen shop that combo with tint. They ripped of on the tint they give. My case they told put 95% IRR when replace windscreen with them last time under insurance

I vouched for the spec and price. IRR% at 99-100% with VLT 50%, considering how much intense the Sun heat nowadays 
Obviously, u can proceed with Pay & Claim method to the insurance company to prevent cases like mine. Pay for windscreen replacement, then after 3 days, send to the Tint Shop Brand of your preference, with the total price for both within ur coverage.

Dr Windscreen do Windscreen claim and pao the tint (in-house or top up for branded with their counterpart). If can arrange in advance, they can even pre-tint the tints for you. You just go there install. However for some tint, you might have to go the standard double trip, windscreen install, then once cured, go do tinting, a bit mafan.

Dr. Windscreen have good workmanship. Changed my windscreen previously in Puchong branch.

However for my last 2 cars windscreens change, I selected Irispro tint in advance, so I go Irispro center to replace Windscreen. In this case, Irispro became the One Stop Service Center to replaced and pre-tint the WS. They will arrange for mobile unit of Dr. Windscreen to send the windscreen a day in advance, pre-tint (Irispro tint only lar coz do in their tint shop). Then I go to Irispro shop during appt time and Dr. Windscreen mobile unit will come install the pre-tinted WS for you. All transaction deal with Irispro directly.

Just Whatsapp existing Windscreen picture (shot of your WS brands and glass model at right/left end of your WS to validate correct WS), car license, ic, insurance policy and car registration card. Then during installation, passed the hardcopy of the docs (except WS pic) to Dr. Windscreen mobile unit. All the scheduling and financial transaction deal directly with Irispro.

I'm using Diamond 60 for 1 car, Diamond X (not in website, with silver sputter besides the original titanium) for another. D60 is clear, I quite like it. DX60 for front tint have a more greenish lighting inside, noticeable dimmer than D60 but still clear. For FWS, I actually prefer D60 better for its brighter VLT but DX60 do has noticeable better heat resistance, can feel the difference.

Note that their VLT are listed as 60 and 58 respectively. They look clear tint, see inside clearly, just not as bright and clear as those 80 and 70VLT. No issue with roadblock tho, since can see clear inside.

Once installed on FWS, VLT will for around 56 / 54 depending on your car WS type. If you want nearer to JPJ compliant, their Elite series are listed 70VLT but I don't think that can pass Puspakom either but then my VKool on my WS also cannot pass (some few posters say they pass tho).

I'm preparing to tint my pending new car again with Irispro DX series but unsure yet which one to use for FWS, D60 or DX60. That says how effective their high-end tint is.

On Smart Tag, no issue (my priority is always on Smart Tag, I need to go thru 4 tolls just for 1 way trip from Klang to KL). My RFID are placed on left front car light. I was told metallic sputter might interfere with RFID signal in placed on Windscreen. Phone GPS and Phone signal working, no issue. Always use Waze and use phone in car  .

Diamond and Diamond X series are their highest level tints already, so I go for Elite and lower series, smart tags also no issue coz Irispro tint using different spectrum IRR than Smart tag.

Their high end are not cheap tho...so can call for pricing and you decide for yourself.
