QUOTE(victor_hoh @ Mar 15 2017, 12:56 PM) My car is almost 2 years old, so I assume it is new? hehe BTW, if the demister is damaged, besides the non-functioning line(s), will there be obvious defects that can be seen easily from afar? The chances are 50/50, the defect will not so obvious if you see it from afar. Another trick is to claim your windscreen insurance in case you want to replace it.

QUOTE(SportyHandling @ May 13 2017, 09:38 PM) There are too many brands out there and I only have experience with V-kool and Huper Optik. If you want the best heat rejection, V-Kool is the best, but the price is also the best. My old car used to be on V-kool Elite and the performance of the tint was good to excellent. The heat can barely be felt. After I changed to a new car, I chose Huper Optik (currently on my Ford Focus) and the performance cannot match the V-kool although the VLT for all windscreens are lower than the V-kool. In order to match the V-kool, you have to go with a darker shade, but then it would be below JPJ's guidelines. If you want cheap but good, you have to go with darker shade with lower VLT to match V-kool's performance that will be riskier with regards to JPJ/police regulations. Good explanations. I may add on few points 1. V-Kool is metal based film vs Huper is ceramic based film. Therefore you can feel different in terms of the film performance. This because ceramic based film usually have higher absorption rate which lead to the heat build up in the film itself instead of rejecting it. 2. The price of Huper normally cheaper by 10-20% compare to V-Kool film.

QUOTE(ayamxxx @ May 15 2017, 12:20 PM) Just to ask if tinted becomes discolor or faded, can it fall under warranty? On cheap brand tint, perhaps it used die type tint Yes, it is product defect. You can claim the warranty provided it is still under warranty period or the shop still there

QUOTE(momo-sang @ May 24 2017, 10:50 AM) Yes, always refer to IRR. I would prefer to go for VKool 55 over REM 55 if I would have to go to Tint-Shop. Should refer to TSER, VK REM series is conventional series of V-Kool film therefore the performance is lower compare to original series of V-Kool film

QUOTE(nles @ May 25 2017, 07:34 PM) So far I got quoted for V-Kool Elite for all Windows is RM2800 Raytech RX RM2900 should can get cheaper Huper Optik RM1900 Still undecided which one to go for. V-Kool worry bout discoloration and GPS issue, only 5 year warranty. Raytech RX seems expensive Huper Optik price lower but heat resistance seems not as good as those two. 3M no quote yet, heard not so scratch resistant. V-Kool film are made from spectrally selective multi layer of metal, therefore it might have discoloration issue but under warranty claim. Due to multi layer metal, it might cause intereferance with GPS as well but depends on the device. RM2800 for V-Kool Elite is good price for a Sedan Car

QUOTE(nles @ May 30 2017, 01:42 AM) How you know V-Kool won't rip you off then I heard huper optik also many rip off, authorized dealer but give other film. I call and ask various brands authorized dealer, they try offer me their in house brand lol. We will not rip you off in terms of quality. Only the price rip you off because you getting high grade film. If you call our dealer, you will get a lot of V-Kool mix with house brand.

QUOTE(suadrif @ Jun 21 2017, 09:25 AM) is it cover for damaged heater wire? installing new tint is user decision removing tint is user decision is not an accident. will the insurance cover for that? upgrade or replace new windscreen film wont be coming together with tint u just only get the heater wire. then what about the tint? would u apply the tint again after got new rear windscreen? couldnt understand this Here the procedure 1. Try to remove the film on your windscreen. 2. If the demister damaged during the removal then can proceed with windscreen insurance claim. 3. Make sure your windscreen coverage is enough to cover your rear windscreen. 4. During replacement you can request to upgrade the film (subject to approval) or reapply back the same tint since it is under warranty claim.

QUOTE(suadrif @ Jun 21 2017, 03:16 PM) if upgrade request is not approved, or reapply back the same tint, it actually doesn't make any difference right? u will be end up with the same stock tint anyway The point is if your windscreen coverage is RM3000 and the windscreen only cost RM2000 including labour and cost, There is an extra RM1000 you can use for upgrade your film but this all is subject to approval ~

The spec he give me is: UV:99% VLT:75% IR CUT: 99% May i know whether it is a good deal? Ask for Total Solar Energy Rejected as well With so high VLT and high IRR the specifications most likely fake

QUOTE(kkk8787 @ Jul 29 2017, 12:57 AM) wait u were lonely143 what. Anyway asked them macam same price. Vkool elite if windscreen wan something with high vlt what Will u all do coz elite 73 per cent sure fail puspakom Yes I am lonely143 as well. Why would you so worried about this PUSPAKOM? V-Kool Elite with VLT of 73% with 94% IRR and 55% TSER Imagine you putting Crystalline 90 with 90% IRR and 34% TSER You need to sacrifice on heat portion in order to pass the inspection. We only/might go PUSPAKOM due to few reason. 1. Change engine/chassis 2. Bad accident 3. Selling the car 4. You do some modification on your car (car registration plate included as well) There are some imported car windscreen reading are below 70% VLT before film installation.

QUOTE(belfong @ Jul 30 2017, 01:25 AM) I recently did Llumar Crystal. Funny thing is that only the side windows they use Llumar Crystal. But the windscreen and back window, they use Llumar Silver. The boss said it's not possible to use Crystal on the windscreen as it's aerodynamic and will distort your vision. How true is this or was I just taken for a ride? Llumar Crystal should be safety film series? If yes, below is proper explanation Normally we do not encourage to install safety film on front due to few reason Front 1. Will create distortion/blur due to windscreen aerodynamic design. 2. Your front windscreen is laminated glass (2 piece with 1 layer PVB plastic) Rear 1. Safety film hard to install on rear because of the demister 2. The only escape route if all your door is lock

QUOTE(chongmelvin2238 @ Jul 30 2017, 10:08 AM) Had vkool elite and confirmed no issue with smart tag but cannot use my long range access card for my condo, also same issue for Long range access card for my Girlfriend's G&G Landed.. so far 3 places, I need to wind down the window ... headache already. It's worst than smart tag issue coz I don't use smart tag daily but daily to my access card. Now I am getting new car, can anyone recommend which have no issue with smart tag and long range access card Sometimes the problem lies with the receiver/sender, if the wavelength of the signal is too long or weak its hardly to detect. Smart tag are using better receiver/sender than those in condo. But I do admit that metalized film normally have this kind issue.
