Yeah, you got the point. Original windscreen may have certain vlt value, that's my concern. But if I apply 70%vlt, do the chance for me getting stop by JPJ is high?
*
I could tell you the possibility is 0% getting stop by JPJ due to tinting unless you modify your car
If PUSPAKOM it might be 50% chances getting the front removed

Can we said sputter film better than ceramic film ?
Since sputter can reflect the heat, but ceramic only keep absorb the heat.
*
Yes, try to apply it when you are cooking.
Ceramic pot is always use to keep warm

QUOTE(Volkswagen2 @ May 8 2019, 09:10 AM)
There has been mixed reception of 0% VLT tint this morning in the news. For me it is not good to have 0% visibility, hence I am in the camp which cites safety concerns with 0% tint for the rear side and rear windscreens. Personally I don't think it will be a big difference between 0% and 20 to 30% VLT tint in terms of heat reduction. Good tints with good heat rejection properties up to 30% if not 20% VLT are good enough.

Case in point, a 0% VLT cheap tint which is basically a black-coloured tint with negligible heat rejection properties will have worse performance than a 30% VLT quality tint. In other words, a road user may just opt for a cheap black-coloured tint without any heat rejection properties and stick it on the windscreen with minimal or zero heat rejection properties.

If the new ruling comes into effect with police and/or JPJ carrying out frequent road blocks to check the car's tint, I suspect many will be penalized for having the front windscreen less than 70% VLT and side windscreens less than 50% VLT.
*
I dont think they will carrying road block on the road but even so it will not affected the current car as the previos ruling was 70 50 30 and now 70 50 0

Basically this ruling is to solve those imported car issue especially Estima/Vellfire/ETC come with dark window at the back side and rear.
With this ruling, all those imported car can avoid those hassle procedure during PUSPAKOM inspection.

My advice, stay away from VKool if you need to use your GPS to navigate around. SmartTag is okay but need to drive very slow to pass through, but gatepass can't use and autogate remote reduced. Alternatively on the expensive side of tint, perhaps 3M Crystalline. Or mid range, Llumar, Hamel, etc.

Salesman will sure say improve la, GPS no problem la, gatepass no problem la, just to secure sales (usual salesman talk la, which salesman will say their product is bad? Don't get misled.). After pasang, no improvement. Don't believe the VKool salesman.
*
I'm using Smart Tag (latest model) and GPS Navigation (IPhone - Waze) no problem at all.

As for the RFID, we have customer put it outside bottom windscreen (the black area) and work perfectly
As for built in car navigation system, it might have problem to detect because it can send out the signal but cant receive due to heavy metal in VKOOL.
As for Smart Tag, try to change your battery/position/slow down when go through the toll.
As for auto gate/access card you can refer here

https://www.magnet.com.my/barrier-gate/rfid...g-reader-system
If you access card can't use, just convert it to UHF just like RFID

For testing purposes, ask them to demonstrate to you, and go to your house and test the remote/gate pass/smart tag/GPS Waze Google Maps. If you feel okay with that tint, then okay. If they don't want to do it, then they have something to hide.
*
As for testing on GPS or Smart Tag, you can request staff car
As for testing AutoGate/Access Card you could ask JMB. I am sure that they will have some feedback from V-Kool users

By the way, try not to use metal cover for your phone as well

Ceramic based tint some have very good IR/heat rejection, causing smart tag problem, but I think that is about it.

VKool being metallic tint have a lot of issues. Of course, if you are not using GPS, smart tag, gate pass, or home gate remote, then these issues won't cause you any inconvenience.
If going to pay so much, why get VKool metallic tint which cause so much issue and inconvenience, especially to a driver who will be using GPS to navigate around, smart tag to pay toll, need to stick RFID outside the car and most importantly, inhibits adding more stress at the end of the day by hindering you from reaching your home.
*
Do not forgot that Ceramic Based film retain heat more than Metal Based film.
Due to that, the absorption rate is high thus the film will deteriorate faster.

Well there is the PRO and CON at least I am using V-Kool 40 with Smart Tag and GPS friendly ATM

Hi
Want to ask a question.
1.  Due to the new ruling, I heard Puspakom will remove the w/s and two front window tints as standard procedure.
2. If I purchased a car from an owner whom I am taking a loan from the same bank as the owner, does the car need to undergo another round of Puspakom inspection like the above?
3. If Puspakom does remove, can anyone quote me the HO C30 price for front w/s and two front windows (driver and passenger) inclusive of cleaning up previous tint removed by Puspakom.

Thanks for all your help and advise.
*
1. That is RUNNER SOP dry.gif dry.gif

2. Puspakom inspection only done once when you do transfer name of owner, after that only consider modify the car (body paint, tint and etc)

3. Normally when you decide to install will particular brand, they will absorb the removal and cleaning charges.

Check with your current owner, the FWS normally need to remove.
If your front side is 55-70% VLT, there is not necessary to remove it

im using RFID (installed at windshield on the inside)

when tinting windscreen, the RFID guy told me to inform the tint person to cut a "hole" for the RFID
does it in any way reducing tint effectiveness??
*
Not effective, the best way to install RFID is

1. On head lamp
2. Outside windscreen bottom on left or right dark area

The thing is, its already installed on the inside

So now i need to make the most of the situation
i.e getting tint to accommodate the rfid
*
So does it go through? Normally only metalized film will block the signal.

Seem like this is a good practice to get best bang for money

yes myvi already put the tint from factory. but not sure it is the safety film or regular tint. iinm the spec provided by perodua is very basic IRR, TSER. only Preve CFE last time give kinda good spec Tint from factory last time.

similar to Mazda CX5 also give tint from the factory but a very low spec in term of IRR, TSER.

Any reputable tint shop can remove the tint without problem to install new tint. A double tint is an option but has to depend on the installer skills, only valid for side windows, not on the windscreen.
*
Yes you are right but becareful about the rear windscreen which involve demister line (heater)

Getting my new G5 CRV soon.

My SA recommended OptiShine Tint and Regnum Tint.

Anyone heard about it or installed tint from this brand?

Appreciate your comments.

Thank you

Couldn't find much info on this brand, I believe it should be HOME BRAND
If they quote you below RM1500 might can consider but have to check the specification as well

Just retint my car..

Vlt front 70%
Side Front 50%
Side Rear 50%
Rear 30%

Now my car looks so dark compared than b4. Previous vlt

Vlt front 70%
Side Front 80%
Side Rear 80%
Rear 70%

Sometimes scared with jpj, but see other car even darker than mine.

With newest rules, they might also headache cause some car so dark but still pass above vlt recommendation.

QUOTE(Nicholasng925 @ Jul 15 2019, 11:57 AM)
Hi guys, I have two quotations for my sedan car, please see which is better. Regardless of the side windows and rear window, I have decided to go with V-Kool Elite for the front windscreen (RM950 for FWS only).

Option 1 (Package):
Front Windscreen  V-Kool Elite
Side Windows        REM 40 Safety
Rear window          REM 40

Price:  RM1,800
Option 2:
Front Windscreen   V-Kool Elite (RM950)
Side Windows       Huper Optik HS40 6mil
Rear window          Huper Optik C30  (RM1.4k)

Price: RM2,350

My question is, which is better? REM 40 Safety, or HO HS40?

REM40 Safety will cost less definitely, but their TSER are not that much different at 52% or 53%. I wonder if the extra RM550 is justified with the HO HS40? Please advise, thanks!

Do consider the outcome after installation as well

REM 40 Safety - Look Slight Reflective Stainless Steel
