Yeah, you got the point. Original windscreen may have certain vlt value, that's my concern. But if I apply 70%vlt, do the chance for me getting stop by JPJ is high?

Since sputter can reflect the heat, but ceramic only keep absorb the heat.

There has been mixed reception of 0% VLT tint this morning in the news. For me it is not good to have 0% visibility, hence I am in the camp which cites safety concerns with 0% tint for the rear side and rear windscreens. Personally I don't think it will be a big difference between 0% and 20 to 30% VLT tint in terms of heat reduction. Good tints with good heat rejection properties up to 30% if not 20% VLT are good enough.

Case in point, a 0% VLT cheap tint which is basically a black-coloured tint with negligible heat rejection properties will have worse performance than a 30% VLT quality tint. In other words, a road user may just opt for a cheap black-coloured tint without any heat rejection properties and stick it on the windscreen with minimal or zero heat rejection properties.

If the new ruling comes into effect with police and/or JPJ carrying out frequent road blocks to check the car's tint, I suspect many will be penalized for having the front windscreen less than 70% VLT and side windscreens less than 50% VLT.

My advice, stay away from VKool if you need to use your GPS to navigate around. SmartTag is okay but need to drive very slow to pass through, but gatepass can't use and autogate remote reduced. Alternatively on the expensive side of tint, perhaps 3M Crystalline. Or mid range, Llumar, Hamel, etc.

Salesman will sure say improve la, GPS no problem la, gatepass no problem la, just to secure sales (usual salesman talk la, which salesman will say their product is bad? Don't get misled.). After pasang, no improvement. Don't believe the VKool salesman.

For testing purposes, ask them to demonstrate to you, and go to your house and test the remote/gate pass/smart tag/GPS Waze Google Maps. If you feel okay with that tint, then okay. If they don't want to do it, then they have something to hide.

Ceramic based tint some have very good IR/heat rejection, causing smart tag problem, but I think that is about it.

VKool being metallic tint have a lot of issues. Of course, if you are not using GPS, smart tag, gate pass, or home gate remote, then these issues won't cause you any inconvenience.
If going to pay so much, why get VKool metallic tint which cause so much issue and inconvenience, especially to a driver who will be using GPS to navigate around, smart tag to pay toll, need to stick RFID outside the car and most importantly, inhibits adding more stress at the end of the day by hindering you from reaching your home.

Can you describe the Vkool GPS problem more ?

1.  Due to the new ruling, I heard Puspakom will remove the w/s and two front window tints as standard procedure.
2. If I purchased a car from an owner whom I am taking a loan from the same bank as the owner, does the car need to undergo another round of Puspakom inspection like the above?
3. If Puspakom does remove, can anyone quote me the HO C30 price for front w/s and two front windows (driver and passenger) inclusive of cleaning up previous tint removed by Puspakom.

im using RFID (installed at windshield on the inside)

when tinting windscreen, the RFID guy told me to inform the tint person to cut a "hole" for the RFID
does it in any way reducing tint effectiveness??

The thing is, its already installed on the inside

So now i need to make the most of the situation
i.e getting tint to accommodate the rfid

Saw one x70 owner bought the tint from AliExpress. Spec wise was great, irr 98% tser 70%. Cost him rm1k, send to installation outside cost him 300.

Seem like this is a good practice to get best bang for money

Vkool seems to be the most expensive but best choice? even compared to horus tint?
where is the best place to go tint my car if i want vkool? theres so many shops that provide tinting. any shops you guys recommend? thank you

yes myvi already put the tint from factory. but not sure it is the safety film or regular tint. iinm the spec provided by perodua is very basic IRR, TSER. only Preve CFE last time give kinda good spec Tint from factory last time.

similar to Mazda CX5 also give tint from the factory but a very low spec in term of IRR, TSER.

Any reputable tint shop can remove the tint without problem to install new tint. A double tint is an option but has to depend on the installer skills, only valid for side windows, not on the windscreen.

If i stick my dash cam Thinkware F770 with double sided tape, will the tint fall off?

My SA recommended OptiShine Tint and Regnum Tint.

Just retint my car..

Vlt front 70%
Side Front 50%
Side Rear 50%
Rear 30%

Now my car looks so dark compared than b4. Previous vlt

Vlt front 70%
Side Front 80%
Side Rear 80%
Rear 70%

Sometimes scared with jpj, but see other car even darker than mine.

With newest rules, they might also headache cause some car so dark but still pass above vlt recommendation.

I am being offered I-Kool tinting wiith my car. Any opinions on I-Kool?

Hi guys, I have two quotations for my sedan car, please see which is better. Regardless of the side windows and rear window, I have decided to go with V-Kool Elite for the front windscreen (RM950 for FWS only).

Option 2:

My question is, which is better? REM 40 Safety, or HO HS40?

REM40 Safety will cost less definitely, but their TSER are not that much different at 52% or 53%. I wonder if the extra RM550 is justified with the HO HS40? Please advise, thanks!
