i'm just guessing here - the 408 will evolve into a GT (grand touring) model something like a CLA or the CLS version of the A-Class or the whatever class the CLS is based on. where as, the 308 will have a brand new 308 sedan as per link below.

http://www.carnewschina.com/2013/12/30/spy...sting-in-china/

the old 308 hatch already has a sedan version sold in china as per link below (china only model, using same platform as 308 hatch - shorter version of the 408) and this new 308 sedan will replace that one and be a new world model.

http://www.peugeot.com.cn/html/car/308/

any other theories on how peugeot will segment those 2 cars?

my 2.0 doesn't float even at 200kph. beyond that, yes a little. but the steering assistance is too light for my liking.

I dont even dare go beyond 170km/h.....Yet.....

by the way guys....The other night, i was driving at above 170km/h.....Then i step on the breaks....It wasnt a jam break, but it was still pretty hard. As my car slowed down, my car actually wiggle left and right. Lucky it wasnt a big wiggle. Still manage to control it. Is this normal?????
*
Please quickly go to a service centre and have the brake servo checked.

Can't be..it's 1.0-1.2, besides, UK target price at 8k, so I guess it will be settings 50-60K here..
*
cannot compare with uk pricing. many factors involved. 107 didn't come in cos it would have cost more than the 207. and it was smaller and used a 3 cylinder engine. no business case for it.

2.5K service is a general inspection for condition and topup. It's ok to leave your air filter. I guess it's ok to leave the filter even on regular service. However when you need to make an engine part warranty claim, or have a problem with your car and needs attention, then replace with original filter. Of course you can play it safe by replacing the original filter any time your car goes to SC!

French are damn stingy when it comes to warranty claims. Have had problems with Airbus Industry over a  minute item!
*
yes they are!!! terribly stingy and they stick to details. warranty claim miss one document, the whole claim is thrown out. and usually, it is dealers who submit incomplete documents or submit late (till there is no time to resubmit). here's a bit of expose. sometimes when a customer's warranty claim gets rejected by automobiles peugeot due to incomplete paperwork, the dealer will usually pin the blame on nasim to the customer. so, the customer usually comes off with a nasty aftertaste about nasim the franchise holder.

by the way, the japanese don't care if you service based only on mileage even though their t&c for warranty is same around the world with the europeans but for the french especially, you have to service EITHER by mileage OR by time. no 2 ways about it.

Thanks lowpro. I wasn't aware that we need to stick to the service interval of "whichever comes first" with the French. Having owned Japanese cars all my life, this was never a problem.

Who are you referring to as "dealer" ? The SC ?
*
nasim has their own service centres like ipoh, plentong, glenmarie, puchong, balakong and kuching. juru used to be nasim's own but it has been converted to citroen already. the rest of the service centres are dealers.

Ok. Understood. So if we want to be safe about warranty claims, we should just stick to those Nasim service centres then.
*
not necessarily lah. some dealers are decent. just that sometimes, they don't pay for their parts and have their accounts blocked, then they will get stuck and blame nasim for not stocking parts. when in fact, there are parts.

Wah.....I know French are stingy...But never know its to this extreme....Thanks lowpro....

So how like that??? How do i know my service time is up??? Coz i always ONLY see the mileage. Can it be set to into our MFD or something??? So that there is a reminder of the time coming to service??? My concern is if i dont drive it often, so the mileage dont go up BUT the time to next service is still running. Hard to keep track of time leh.....
*
usually there will be a sticker stating your last service on your windscreen. just see 6 months from that date.

the thing about AP's warranty is like this. even if you park your car and not move it for 6 months, you will STILL have to service it.

Peugeot Malaysia should build a sms blasting system. Blast to all the owners a reminder on when the service is due. Hahahahah. That would be awesome.
*
actually, they'r working on it. it is a time based system. so, in the car, you have your mileage counter and the SMS should let you know when the time is near.

Good!
So next time we know we should follow up an email to clic if we faced any problem with SC.
*
yup. the right people to liaise with if you don't get answers from the SC is clic. just drop them a note or call them at the toll free number. also make sure to remember the name of the officer helping you. easier to contact next time.

they work office hours only so after 6, that toll free number cuts over to the towing line and they're only good if you need towing. for case follow up, it is 8.30am to 6pm.

Yes. And please dont express ur anger to them. Talk with them politely and they will response politely. Fault is on SC not the clic officers... cheers.
*
yes, i totally agree with this. treat others as how you want to be treated smile.gif they will always help but remember they are also human so, there will always be a small element of human error. just be patient.

google around the new model facelift currently under testing..
its a 308 sedan la kan?

http://www.autoevolution.com/news/spyshots...8-ii-67191.html
*
yes, it is a 308 sedan that should replace the 408 as the family c-segment sedan in future. the 408 will most probably evolve into a GT type car like a CLS or CLA and be a slightly more niche and upmarket model (with higher price as well)... from my predictions lah.

I'm one of the early owners of the 408T. In fact if you look at the owners list,I'm right on top. It's coming up to 2years and I haven't had a single problem, touch wood. Since you asked for owner experience, here it is.

When I booked my car,I had the same worries as you after reading autoworld forum. At the same time I was told the 408t engine is an improved one. So started some research and was very happy to find out the engine has been given a serious make over. Yes, total of 8 mods were carried out addressing reliability issues. After 2 years of ownership I can definitely say, none of the problems on the 308t have shown up on this engine. I have enjoyed every bit driving this car. I will also say, handling and steering feel on this car is at another level. One of the best I've had so far and I've owned many conti's before this!

Go ahead bro, take the plunge. You'll enjoy this car for a long time! tongue.gif

Bro lowpro, got such thing "Safe Mode"?
*
yes. when the car comes off the assembly line i think. this is to prevent over revving or aggressive driving before delivery. but should be deactivated before delivery to customer.

does china 2013 deluxe version rear bumper comes with integrated exhaust tips like the south america version?

any idea how much does it cost for rear bumper only?
*
china already has the facelifted version lor. their 2.0 is already 6 speed auto unlike ours with 4 speed auto. but at the current price, our 2.0 is sill pretty good value for money.
