I also sent in a compliment letter to clic for a Glenmarie SA, relatively new, for his extra effort on my service last week. I was on the way driving back when he called me informing me that someone (security?) saw my bonnet was not closed tight. He advised me to pull over and close it tight.

Today I saw him again, as I sent in another car today, he said he received a compliment letter from the company.

thumbup.gif People always complain and criticize others when they make mistakes but rarely thank them for a job well done. It doesn't cost anything to simply say thank you. Having worked in the service industry myself, I can say it makes a huge difference for the individual.

Just took my car from Glenmarie after knocking and repaint on the door. Cost me RM500 and the worse thing is found 3 lines of scratches on the boot that was done intentionally!!! Will never send my car there ever again.

How do you know it was intentional? Just curious.

IMO, we don't do alignment on torsion beam
any other opinions?
*
My Vios uses torsion beam in the rear as well and I've never had to align it in the 5.5 years I used it. You should not have to align it unless it's damaged, in which case that would be an even bigger concern than the wheel alignment.

It's only been 3 days and I've already found 2 issues with the car. Given my never ending streak of bad luck with cars....this comes as no surprise.

1. Left windscreen washer is not functioning. Right wasn't either but I kept trying to use the washer and it eventually sprang to life after a while.
2. Some vibration noise in the front left. Only noticeable when AC is on or driving on very rough surface....like those cement parts of the highway.

I'm gonna wait for the 2.5k inspection to report these. Any advice guys?

What was the issue with the door rubber?

yes .. agree..depend on luck ..

but their QC need improment also ..
*
Agreed. Their QC has much room for improvement. I'm seeing discolored rubber in some parts of my car, and it's brand new. Not sure how that's even possible. Also how could the windscreen washer pass QC when it's not even working? Just saying......both are minor issues but they should not have occurred anyway.

Perhaps they should adopt Toyota's manufacturing principle. Fix root cause not symptoms for major every issue found before starting on the next batch. It's a continuous improvement process. So if you purchase a year or 2 after release, you theoretically should no longer have any major issues.

The QC manager most likely from Proton.

Toyota also lousy. on the first day when i got my Vios. i drove it straight to SC after 2Km from sales office because a loud noise came out from the front wheels.  vmad.gif

How should I to decide. So scare they will release a nasty lion for me shocking.gif

This goes back to your luck and some research. Every car out there has it's own set of issues. With manufacturing and design standards where they are today, this comes as no surprise. In the old days, manufacturers always strive for 100% quality. These days they're trying to strike a balance between quality and their profit margin.

My Vios had numerous problems in the past year, that I decided to replace it. In the 5 years I've had it, I had something to complain to the SC each time it was sent for service, ranging from rattling noises, absorbers that leaked twice, deformed plastics/rubber around the window, electrical problems that causes the steering to stop working and lock while you're driving, alternator that gave out, wheel bearing that gave out too, washer pump.....etc..etc...the list goes on, but I was the only one I knew who had these issues. The rest of my friends using Vios never had a single issue with their cars and they don't exactly drive their cars gently either.

You need to weigh out the pros and cons then decide what's best for you. The problems with mine are minor issues. I'm confident that any technician would be able to fix them, well, except for the vibration noise cos' that a tough one to troubleshoot since it doesn't happen all the time. I just drove out to lunch with my colleagues and no noises at all. rclxub.gif

Hi there.
I had similar problem as you. Right working then left should working as well because both from same pipeline(correct me if I'm wrong). Maybe you can use nail to clean the hole of washer... Or you dismantle the soundproof at the engine hood, check whether have water flow to left washer or not

For front left noise, I believe it from door panel...
*
Believe it or not, I'm relieved I'm not the only one facing these problems. Having had faced unique problems with my Vios which was only temporarily resolved after numerous visits to the SC and blind troubleshooting by them because they never could reproduce it....knowing this is not a "unique" issue is somewhat of a relief.

Was the problem with the door panel fixed? Any suggestions on how to approach the SC about this? I never had much luck with those rattling noises in my Vios when trying to get the SC convinced that I wasn't just hearing noises in my head....because whenever I went for a test drive with them, it didn't happen....but it did every other time.

So you had tried many time pull and hold but no water out from washer also ?

You do request SC to rectify the source in the first place. Gentle press on the panel when rattling noise can be heard. If noise disappear, do dismantle the panel and then check all the clip/screw to make sure everything tighten up. After re-install panel back, test drive...

Similar problem as you...I may dismantle it myself if I have time...  hmm.gif

Yeah...after a couple of times the right side started working after spurting some air out but left still doesnt work. I'll try cleaning the nozzle with a pin when I have some time.
Thanks for the feedback on the vibration noise. I'll need to get someone to drive my new Pug while I try to figure out where the noise is coming from. Not gonna be easy letting someone else take the wheel though.

How about Android JB
*
I'm using S4 with Android version 4.3
No issues with pairing, streaming calls and music.
Only problem I have is I need to manually reconnect to the car each time I get in.

Bro Jayson5, it could just be a compatibility issue. I had problems pairing my S4 to the Ford Focus test car I was testing but the saleswoman had no issues with the iPhone 5.

Guys,

Do you guys encounter electric shock (like ESD) while getting out of the car when holding the door? ( I will holding my key on the same hand)
*
Nope. But I do get it at home when my AC has been running full pelt for hours. Reduced humidity in the air and type of materials plays a part. Just saying.

Tyres Mich PS3 RM615.00 each, brake pads I changed outside much cheaper, parts + labour RM360.00, original pads was quoted RM650.00, too expensive.
Just got to know, it's normal practice to change brake pads and disc together, as the pads actually wear off the disc brakes, fortunately mine still ok, so still using, mileage 36k
*
Change discs too? I never had to do that in any of my cars before. One was up to 100k and the other 200k mileage.

408 NA owners, any of you feel the suspension is too soft in the rear. When I drive over big speed bumps slowly, there seems to be a lot of suspension travel (bounce). It's ok when I'm moving at speed though. Is this normal?

Also, about the noise in the front left of my car, turns out it was the door panel after all. Gentle pressure stops the vibration noise. The reason it doesn't happen all the time is because whenever it doesn't happen, there's someone sitting in the front passenger seat with their hand on the arm rest, thereby applying pressure.

The question now is how to get it fixed. Any ideas folks?

That day was lucky, the SC don't have much people. 6 people actually check on my car and fixing all the minor problem. It took almost whole day. I have spoke to the technician, knowing so much about SC procedure now. So far they have run the diagnose, they said my previous Yokohama battery amp was not up to the par. Due to continental car consist of so much electronic stuff, battery usage are very high. Moreover climbing up hill, it take more power. They have change to battery name Decor which they claim to be better. They ask me to test again, if still can't. They will send technician with me and run the diagnose with them in the Genting. They said they will bring up this case to France to ask for opinion. I will try again today, see how it goes. Hopefully really the battery problem. If you saw a 408T silver, that could be me. Stay tune.
*
Which SC was this? If they actually follow you to Genting for a test drive, then they'll be doing more than Toyota with it's legendary after sales service ever did for the problems with my old Vios. All they did was go for a really short test drive with me and ruled everything out as "normal" or "non-existent". It was only when the problem got so bad that I can't drive the car anymore that they acknowledged there was a problem. In the end it turns out I've been sending my car to a "bad" SC. This gives me much hope for the after sales service of the Lion.

Hey guys,
I just thought I'd share my 1 week experience with the Peugeot 408 2.0
I'll keep this really short. In the past, each time I drove long distance with my dad, he'll be awake the entire time. Can't blame him because my old 2008 Vios wasn't really the epitome of comfort. Today, he slept the entire way. He was so deep into sleep that when he finally woke up, he didn't realize that we'd already reached home. smile.gif
