u need to break the car panel into several zones so u wash zone by zone (wash - rinse the sponge [first bucket] - shampoo [second bucket] - wash)

wash with no pressure applied, just like gliding over the paint (provided the shampoo is slick)

when using the drying towel, i normally tap it, never swipe or pull the towel over the paint as this will seriously cause the swirls.
*
Thanks master.. Normally I just swipe towel over the paint. Next wash want to try 'tap' method.. notworthy.gif

Thank you.
All RB are equally versatile. They can change to all kind of size of backing plate, even a free spinning or force rotation dual action head attachment (from Dynabrade).
As long as the thread size and thread per length compatible you can use it already, or else get a thread size convert adapter will do.

You straight jump from hand to RB?

Yes sweat.gif

But tried twice before (not doing it for whole car) and i felt in love with it..

Currently having unused bonnet for me to practice.. But no RB yet.. cry.gif

Thanks for your generous sharing smile.gif. Last time i was using Permanon Coating, and the effect is not up to my expectation, and have to use the Brilliantshine Shampoo to maintain the caoting, which produced really less foam. So now i come back to traditional waxing method. I guess i should get a polisher instead of using hand dy.

I was thinking to do the Opti Guard too, but mayb next yr, and its pricey as well. Heard from my colleague he is using Soft99 Fusson Coat 9 Months, not sure is it a good buy.
*
Did you do pre-cleaning / paint correction / polishing before using permanon? Am asking this because wanted to try permanon and I will do as per pre-thingy first before applying permanon platinum.. sweat.gif

As I know brilliant shine contain 10% of the permanon coating, thus less foam will be created. Right?

yeap, last time i at a well-known shop at taman mayang pj, they provide surface preparation before apply. i think the permanon is not bad, just not up to my expectation in water beading + sheeting. the gloss also not as shining as compare to wax.

Ya, i still have ard 500ml brilliant shine. u wan? i sell u cheap cheap haha
*
How much? sweat.gif sweat.gif

I want to rojak2 in product.. ONR for wash + clay lube - DG431 for APC - UC for compounding - PBA601 for paint bonding - Opti-Seal for paint & wheel coating OR permanon platinum - DG Track Claw for finishing..

Is it too much? Or is there any AIO for all these? drool.gif

I bought the masking tape for 50/50 test on my unused bonnet.. Want to learn to use RB.. Scared later apply rb on car bonnet suddenly all go haywire.. And actually I bought the wrong size.. cry.gif cry.gif

More doesn't mean better protection. It either repeatation of same product from different brand/packing or wasting your time only.

I know less is more.. thumbup.gif Will do further research on these product to avoid unnecessary usage. notworthy.gif

ONR for wash or clay lube - OK
DG431 is actually a light degreaser, not an APC. You can treat it as an APC but just be careful ya...you might degrease those parts of the car that require grease....such as door hinges, etc.
UC - anything to follow up after UC & before PBA or OS? There's a reason why Megs designed (and recommend) to use the UP (Ultimate Polish) after using UC. Might be a good idea if you do a little bit more reading up on those two.
PBA before OS - request: could you try a small section straight away using OS without PBA? Had never tried this combo before and would be interested to know if OS is compatible with PBA.
TC after OS - TC does make the paint look shinier, but OS has superior beading and sheeting. Maybe you should try half a section (or 50/50) the other way around, just to see which one performs better or more to your liking.
With PlasX, you might be able to remove the scuff, but not sure about the scratch though.... hmm.gif
*
Actually I want to use DG431 as an alternative way to IPA.. Using 431 as a wipe down after UC or after UP btw.. As I know it can be mix with normal car wash.. Right?

UP after UC can be consider as optional or is it necessary to apply UP after? Noted. Will read more on these 2..

From my understanding PBA act as glue between car paint and product that we use on top of it. That's why based from my understanding using PBA will make the OS stick firmly to the car paint.. Or maybe I had confused myself.. doh.gif

PBA before OS / TC after OS - Will do the 50/50 test and share the result.. But not so soon ya.. tongue.gif

thumbup.gif Thanks but bought ONR ady..

QUOTE(KrisMas @ Jun 5 2014, 08:11 PM)
You'd need to do another round of rinsing after using DG431...you can't use it as a 'no rinse'...it'll leave 'chemicals' behind that *could* be detrimental to the paintwork.

PBA's use is to 'help' bonding. I don't know the details on how it does that but I've tried it with DG105, Zaino, Menzerna Power Lock, Megs NXT, Megs M21....and a few other 'liquid' sealants' and, to a certain extent, it does work (lets just say that they're compatible). Though I also have Opt Optiseal, Zaino Clear Seal and EnvisoShield it never occured to me to try these type of wipe-on-walk-away sealants with the PBA.
*
Yup.. Spoken to Liew as he told me that need to do fully rinsing if using DG431 as it 'may' harm the paint if leave it to dry..

Thanks for your feedback on PBA. notworthy.gif at least I know that it can help to bond on the paint.

Went to hardware shop and the guy told me can use wall paint masking tape instead of painters tape.. He said that it will not tear off the car paint..

Does your zhapalang tape could be the same he mentioned to me?

How much do car shops charge for a whole car polish?

AIO : All In One

Im using megs ultimate compound on 10yrs car and 1yr car.. It did removes oxidize + swirls + water spots and im satisfied with it.. But use it wisely ya..

Or else u can buy megs ultimate polish or paintX which is less abrasize..

Price range for polish whole car around RM200++ i guess..

Honestly Im a newbie with zero knowledge to do polishing but i done it with the guidance from all sifu here.. Seriously..

Searching for good compound product until i stumble upon Ultimate Compound.. For start, I ask around before decided to DIY using hand.. To be frank it was easy but need a lot of patient..

The result not perfect like pro detailer but the satisfaction doing it by my own - priceless
