QUOTE(12Digit @ Dec 19 2013, 11:35 PM) Hi, normally how long that we need to polish the car? I took my car since 2011 until now no polish yet, cause one of my friend saying that new car below 5years no need to polish is that true. Now i starting to notice my car colour start to become not so bright. Honda city grey colour. Your friend there *might* be right...you *might not* need to POLISH, but you'd DEFINITELY need to WAX immediately or as soon as practically possible But if, like you said, the car 'start to become not bright' then it's definitely time to polish already. QUOTE(windskill @ Dec 23 2013, 03:18 PM) Some people don't really encourage using pressure washer as they said it might introduce scratches as well...due to the high pressure on the dirt. Yeah....blame it on the tool/machine...I am confused on this sometimes Personally I can't see how a CONSUMER RANGE pressure washer can do any harm to the paint...unless...using the dirtblaster nozzle which is.... |

QUOTE(MyWifeCar @ Dec 23 2013, 05:33 PM) Do you think I can use the same material to apply IS? The block and the suede MF? Ditch the suede, but can still use the block. After application, the whole MF harden like a piece of wood. QUOTE(TamiyaOne @ Dec 23 2013, 05:50 PM) how to remove rain X.. saw alot of video on apply Rain X but no video on removing rain X You'd need a glass polish/compound if want to remove rainx altogether. I use soft99 Glass Compound Z.one more thing can i skip the polish part after claying and go direct to waxing.. and side affect ? Clay good in removing embedded grit but sometime you'd also need polish to remove surface stain. QUOTE(carl90 @ Dec 23 2013, 06:19 PM) i heard someone say if too frequent can damage the car's paint 1st, learn proper method, techniques, tools and product for washing. Then start learning about waxing or using sealants. Then get to know about different levels of polishing/compounding and what they do or can achieve.actually i just received my car last two weeks, but didn't do waxing at all.what's ur advise for the new car?thanks |

QUOTE(Chicharito Choo @ Dec 24 2013, 04:43 PM) Niceyyyy......QUOTE(carl90 @ Dec 25 2013, 02:39 PM) [attachmentid=3785026] Looks more like a job for paintshop....the paint had been scrapped & need to put some new one on. Could do some touch-ups but it'll still look obvious....Sifus,is this fixable by using clay+polish? My mom's car got scratched by a lorry before this QUOTE(kww @ Dec 25 2013, 03:50 PM) Never come across my mind to buy 1 DA, as I don't have budget and I'm not that particular to have a perfect car; stone chips and small dents are all over the car. But I like it clean and good water sheeting & beading effect. I never stop cleaning it every week over the pass 5 years. My suggestion, try to have a go at it first. A DA vibrates a lot, some can handle it and some can't. But putting that aside, i would say thats a good price cuz a new one retails here for about rm1300 or so.Yesterday a friend of mine offer his Meg G220 DA that is hardly use for rm600 (without any pad). I'm tempted, need to ask a few question; 1. is this a good price? It is not local purchase. 2. I was told it is rather fool proof but not that powerful as compare to Roft, true? 3. How many kind of pads should I buy for swirls and water marks removal? As it is the only thing i think i will use it for. How much are the pads (mid quality)? Thanks and merry Christmas. 'Roft'??? What's that? If you mean Rupes Bigfoot then yes, it's not as 'powerful' but still decent enough for some good quality results, with the correct pads and polishes. Pads would cost you around rm50 ~ rm60 for the Lake Country ones. My suggestion, for a start, get 1 x CCS orange light compounding pad, 2 x CCS white polishing pads and 1 x CCS black finishing pad (all 5.5" ones), or at the minimum 1 white and 1 black. Pair them with Megs Ultimate twins ( Ultimate Polish & Ultimate Compound) then you're set for most of the more common medium defects correction works. |

QUOTE(Dwnking @ Dec 31 2013, 08:29 PM) Don't know much about Tribos....sorry. Most coating aren't readily available for DIY purchase/use so you,d be better off looking for some feedback from fellow mazda owners who took the package. But at that price/budget, the other better known (and trusted by detailers) brands would be from Gzox, Opticoat, Sonax & 22ple. Mind you, if you're serious about it, just make sure you read and understood the terms and conditions of the warranties and also what you'd need to do (normally a strict maintenance schedule) in order not to void it. After a little reading up on Tribos website, personally, I'm not convinced. But then, that's just my educated guess so don't take my word for it. |

QUOTE(Avangelice @ Jan 3 2014, 03:54 PM) I wouldn't say that. It could be legit cuz there was this one time when a salesman came over the detailing centre below my office and was selling the 50ml bottle of DLS 9H for RM270. So the coating itself isn't that expensive. It may just be that people here in Klang Valley are just inflating the prices for their coating jobs. And I also just got to know of a place that could do the Gzox Real Glass Coat for around RM1.5k ~ RM1.8k only..... |

QUOTE(Avangelice @ Jan 3 2014, 04:55 PM) Yes.QUOTE(Avangelice @ Jan 4 2014, 12:46 AM) How much is it? The salesman also did show me the sealant called nano something...rm120/100ml bottle. Expensive if it only can last for a few months....QUOTE(Avangelice @ Jan 4 2014, 08:21 AM) actually whats the good sides of doing these expensive coating when I can wax the car myself on a regular basis? The good side is you don't have to re-apply regularly like a wax or sealant...but, like ppl before me said, you'd still need to maintain regular and proper washing like normal. If you think you can maintain the passion of waxing your car regularly, might as well go for normal wax/sealant. These coatings aren't that easy to DIY and prep work (compounding/polishing) need to be tip top unless you dont mind sealing all those defects under it for a couple of years. |

QUOTE(Avangelice @ Jan 4 2014, 08:28 AM) https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/2121179 You'd also need to think about the claying, polishing, etc., i.e. the prep works before applying any wax/sealant/coating.What do you guys think? i am getting this for my cerato. Gonna do this right before CNY |

QUOTE(CoffeeDude @ Jan 4 2014, 08:59 AM) How about the feel? You'd be dissapointed then cuz no slipery feel with a coating. But wait till u see how fast water beads just run and bounce around on the surface....hahaha....Does coating give the same feeling as wax/sealant when touched? I like smooth slippery feeling. |
