Need some help here. Just now I was using 3M microfine sanding sponge along with glass abrasive polish powder to remove watermarks on my car's windscreen (using light pressure). Prior to the sanding, glass prep such as washing and claying have been done.

It ended up with some minor scratches and marring.... cry.gif  cry.gif

Was searching online and found that CQuartz Ceriglass, which contains cerium oxide, is able to remove mild to medium scratches on glass.

Does anyone use this before?

Appreciate your help  icon_question.gif

The 'glass abrasive polish power'...did you get that from Osren also? If so, then it contains cerium oxide too. If you have a machine/DA, get yourself a felt pad and pair that with the glass abrasive polish and try. If you don't, Osren also has the felt 'block', use that instead. Should be able to remove the micro scratches if they're not too deep. If too deep then you'd need a rotary with the felt pad.

Yea I got the glass abrasive powder from Osren. Hmm, it contains cerium oxide too?

So, is felt pad = glass polishing pad? Does it look something like this-> http://www.autogeek.net/glass-polishing-pad-5inch.html
*
I think I remembered Hendry told me that it's basically cerium oxide in a mixed powdered form....

Yeah....the felt pads looks something like that....

Err...you did get instructions on how to use it right? Like mixing it with water into paste-like and using it wet/damp and never let it dry when working with it. Oh....did it happen to the front windscreen or the other glasses? Cuz the laminated glass on front windscreen are normally relatively softer than the tempered glass on other windows so you'd need to be more careful with the front windscreen.

Gosh, such detailed post. Thanks mate! notworthy.gif  notworthy.gif  notworthy.gif

Looks like I gonna leave it as it is. Can't find my car color paint out there.
or visit my car model bodypaint service, sure cut-throat.
*
Try going to a bodyshop paint supplier and ask them to mix the colour to match you cars paint. A small (around 250ml) can of paint (which is A LOT for touching up use) would cost you around RM20 ~ RM30 or so....

Just went back from the authorized dealer bodypaint workshop, they do provide touch up but
"Sorry Sir, we don't have your car color code, even the system doesn't have the list yet."
Drive out sadly.

QUOTE(Quazacolt @ Feb 20 2014, 04:44 PM)
there should be a color code on your car chassis? should be able to go direct to the manufacturer/paint supplier too.
*
Kr0ll3R Did you mention anything about the age of your car? (sorry...malas to scroll back...)
Quazacolt I still prefer going to a paint supplier and ask them to mix a MATCHING colour.
To relate to my question to Kr0ll3R, paint pigment would 'change colour' over time. A colour code would be useful for the initial colour identification, then the paint supplier should MATCH it with the actual colour of your car by further mixing.

Look too good to be true for me. From video alone we are unable to judge whether those are really scratches or just white color paint. If it is the later than any marker pen will sufficiently to wipe it out.
Whether it is a snake oil or true genius product I have no idea but hey, just RM20 I think worth to give it a try.
I think I saw such thing before in Ace Hardware. Not sure is same brand or not.

Try it on an inconspicuous area first like under skirt, under bumper, under wheel well.

It's been fun reading from V1 to V3. Many information gather. Newbies checking in. To the otai otai, have you guys heard before Wellson brand? Is a Japanese products. Google high and low for a review but only a few appear.  Wellson PS coat that claim 1 year of durability.

You mean Willson coatings. Saw a few types in Autobacs Klang. One local enthusiast did some comparison tests but can't remember his conclusion. Will come back after I read through his post again.

Yeah...same principle for surface defects as on headlamps.

QUOTE(Source96 @ Feb 22 2014, 07:21 PM)
Hi guys is waxing can be done everytime whenever I like?  Or it will damage the surface? Also what is the recommended time to do another waxing session after the 1st one? I guessing a few months?
*
Can do as frequent as you want to. Just make sure the paint is clean and the applicator pad stays clean during use. During 'waxing' the applicator would clean up some dirt from the surface...change pad immediately when the pad gets too dirty.

update:
yeah the wheel cleaner i gotten this time (with the rim coating package) does not turn red unsure.gif
i tried my current Sonax Xtreme Wheel cleaner plus full effect, it does turn red a bit (well it's the 2nd time spray so there aren't much brake dust/residue left)

it smells a lot more pleasant than the one i got (yellow'ish in color, then turns red)
however doesn't seem as effective as there is still left over brake dust/residue? definitely need a bit of agitation with tool.

reminds me of meguiar's wheel brightener, very similar effect/strength and smell.
*
Can you quote the part number. I'd like to do some digging. I was curious when Reza told me the liquid inside was clear instead of the neon/florescent yellow like the one I have. Thanks.

Forgotten to tell you the 10% discount is for Aeon member privilege only. So you got to have Aeon member card.

I think you will not find mirror glaze line of product in Aeon. Try Home Fix instead. Aeon just carry consumer range product and even so they do not carry all the consumer range neither.

Good luck in shopping.

Or can try Duragloss products...cheap cheap...still got some more from my friend's 'shut-down' stocks... tongue.gif

left is art no. 230 200-544 (the one that turns red and smells like piss)
right is "Best. Nr." 230 200 (the one the bundles with the rim coating, fully German labels)
*
Roger that. Thanks.

Edit: Bro, since you have both, can have picture of the front also ka? Got contrasting info when I read through info from Sonax site.

From msds 230200-544 is Sonax Xtreme Wheel Cleaner "full effect" (exactly as spelled including the quotation marks);
230300 is Sonax Xtreme Wheel Cleaner PLUS

But, curious that both are described in the msds as "colourless or light red" in colour....my 5L one is yellowish neon/florescent colour. Shucks....how many wheel cleaner do Sonax has....

First step to conserve water without sacrificing the cleanliness of your car....use a pressure washer. It consume far less water than normal garden hose. Not to mention it could also clean your tyres, wheel wells and the underbody far more effectively than using normal hose+chemicals+brush.

scoutfai I do have some rinseless in my stash...but they're my personal ones and not for sale....hehehe....sorry, DG rinseless aren't in my friend's list also....

Forget about the 'foamer' in ACE. I've tried 3 types: the gilmore, the one shown above and another one which is for cleaning windows or something. What came out was something more like a soap mix (which is what they're suppose to be) instead of foam.

Foam lance internal parts looks like this:

user posted image

I think the part that contributed the most for the foam is the one in the red square. It's some sort of compacted metal mesh.

Anyway, you can see the actual parts here.

http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=84349

Here's the one from Gilmore...the one that connects to normal garden hose...

You can find the Gilmore foam gun/foamaster at Osren or Duragloss Malaysia. Those are the two places that I know of that sells them.

I thought OSREN was carrying the one that needs an air compressor machine to operate? I am asking about the one that runs on normal garden hose one oh.

The air compressor one is the Tornador. Maybe you should give them a call or PM the guy in fb. I'm a little unsure now....but I'm definitely sure Duragloss Malaysia has it cuz it's in their web.

Managed to get a sample of D114, been using it at 1:32, cleans well, but strips my D156 spray wax. So I decided to...
I do think that dilution is too strong. I use 1:50 for cleaning up/stripping polishing oil and 1:100 for normal cleaning ( in spray bottle).

Just do another round of AIO. That's what AIOs are for, to clean up the surface of any contaminant including contaminated waxes/sealants while leaving a freash one behind afterwards.
