yes Lite means Light, less bloat stuffs.

In my personal opinion;

Pheonix v18.8 is better than DN3  v5+ (IncallUI FC during video call)

I think DN3 v5+ Lite is better than both above  less problem

If you really want Light N3 and a little bit of S5 try Mr.Luong rom v3.8.
I didn't use this because it don't have Quick Glance.

hmmm... i think i'll try DN3 v5+ lite then.

but i can't seem to find any site that shows what the difference between FULL and LITE. anyone can share? i still want some Note 3 features, especially s-pen related.

dunno why din see this earlier:

SHOULD I USE THE FULL ROM OR LITE ROM?:
- File size: Full rom is 1.9GB zip vs Lite rom is 1.6GB zip
- With both roms you will have at least 300MB of free space in system partition.
- Both roms have the same number of Note 3 and S5 features, but the Lite rom might have few less S5 apps.
- Lite rom doesn't include apps like Gmail, Maps, Youtube, Evernote and most Samsung apps because you can download them from Google Play

actually, 2nd last point... a bit confusing. starts off saying same n3 and s5 features, yet later say less s5 apps? biggrin.gif

hmmm... no gmail? no maps? i guess i can live with that and install them from Google Play. but i wonder what they mean by most Samsung Apps??? i wish they were more specific... hahaha... but i dun need any heart rate monitor apps, etc... biggrin.gif

flashed DN3v5+ LITE.

dun really know if i like it or not. seems like i ended up with some s5 features as well... when i click SETTINGS, i get two -- one which is Note 3 and the other is S5 (i think).

realised the dual camera feature isn't available... had not checked it earlier on.

what else? the fan menu... dun seem to be there... or maybe i have yet to activate it. will test it out over the next few days.

right now -- a bit worried about my SanDisk 64GB card. i think its busted. can't format. writing to the card has been erratic. *sigh*

Can u format in PC?  smile.gif
*
can't format using PC. if i try format, from MY Computer or even Disk Mgmt, it'll say sth like disk protected.

yesterday, managed to delete the files from the card from the phone. so thought everything is ok liao...

then 2 hours later, suddenly see all the files appear again. *pengsan*

looks like bad microSD card... *sigh*

SanDisk commonly have this kinda problem. I am using Kingston and all none of them give me such problem.
*
ya, recall SanDisk had such issue, especially with the earlier batches. i thought mine was safe... alas... now have to go dig up receipt, etc... need to go claim.

Izzit in settings --> account --> backup and reset?? then when i press it, the back up my data was tick same for the automatic restore

Then just click data reset???

the backup izzit will save my contact, sms, photos? what about whatsapp history?
how? i am noob here...
*
that backup and restore option on the phone... it will just backup some settings like the wifi AP you connected to, your apps installed (so when you check auto restore, after wipe, it will auto download back all the apps). i'm not sure if it will also auto restore your Google accounts.

so, to be on safe side:
* contacts: check to confirm you have saved your contacts to Google/ Gmail. <-- quick check by logging into web Gmail and check your contacts
* photos: make a copy of the photos on microSD (unless you have dropbox and Google photo to auto backup to cloud) or just connect to PC and copy out all the photos
* whatsapp: there's an option in Whatsapp to backup your chats. Press that to force a manual backup. after that, copy out the whatsapp folder from your phone. the whole folder. <-- after you wipe your phone, copy back this folder BEFORE you install and setup whatsapp. When you setup whatsapp, it will detect this folder and ask if you want to restore. just say YES and it will restore everything for whatsapp.

hope that helps.

just to update... can't format the card -- halfway through, it'll fail. deleted files don't actually get deleted. they re-appear after a while. i think its some how 'locked'.

tried format and delete from phone and PC. failed.

spoke to seller (IPmart) about this. they have asked to ship back my card to them so they can process the warranty.

at the same time, saw the 64GB cards are getting cheaper. there's even Kingston deal on Groupon:
http://www.groupon.my/deals/national-deal/...a-276/718271427
64GB microSDXC: 1 set for RM145 instead of RM230
64GB microSDXC: 2 sets for RM279 instead of RM460 (only RM139.50 per set)

thinking of getting another... Sandisk or Kingston? smile.gif

In my experience, Kingston tends to give you the minimum they can get by with. So don't expect more than 10mb/s. Sandisk gets up to 13mb/s on my reader.

my SanDisk is currently leaving a bad after taste in my mouth... heh heh...

IPMart says it may take weeks to months for warranty claim... ouch.

so i guess... might as well try Kingston. kinda cheap. rm145. smile.gif

i think i might just go grab one... dem... i have too many of these storage devices... microSD, external hdd, pen drives, etc... :S

whoa... was just scrolling further down the Groupon page and saw this:

Dimensions: 3.7cm (L) x 2cm (W) x 1.1cm (H)
Capacity: 16GB, 32GB, or 64GB
64GB USB drive: 1 unit (RM169 value) + delivery (RM7 value) for RM150 instead of RM176
see:
http://www.groupon.my/deals/national-deal/...a-410/718394876

this is even better! can even be used on phones without microSD (as long as got OTG support).

*sigh* decisions, decision... this or Kingston...

only wished this one had USB3.0.
