nice pictures you have over therr! smile.gif
may I know what setting / lens are you using? I am still begineer and would like to learn more smile.gif
*
Thanks bro, glad you like em

um... the shots are all in f11 and they're all either 5-7 bracketed exposures, processed using photomatix and lightroom. lens/body combo is d7k and tokina 12-24

it's ok, we're all beginners, lets learn together and improve in photography ~ biggrin.gif

That is why i still thinking whether to upgrade to D7k or not.  icon_question.gif
*
I think that 1 stop advantage not really worth it eh for the upgrade, rather than spending that money for a usable 1600-3200 iso pictures, I think I'd rather grab a flash at a lesser price and go below those iso settings. then save up for full frame, you'll still yearn for better iso performance even after you upgrade to d7000 i think..

but then also your choice la, I sucks in using flash and even though I have a flash, still despise using them for people shots (hate the outcome), only use them for my macros cry.gif

I have D90. Plan to buy 70-200 vrii . Its good lens for d90? Mostly i shoot potrait.
*
If you're a working proffesional and absolutely NEED it, yes it's one of the best 70-200 out there and it'll sure serve you well

However if you're still a learning amateur, I'd suggest getting 85 1.8g or d/ 105,135 DC for portraits as they're loads lighter, good pieces glass and don't weight like a tank

FF isn't the best of everything la, unless you buy d4 or d800 grade camera straightaway. the 6D and d600 are actually quite basic camera with a FX sensor only, the buffer and focusing are quite basic also. there are advantages of each system, you can't say IQ = everything. lets say if someone likes to shoot street, no point asking him to get a d600/ d800 just for street right? a smaller camera can do the job better. not saying FF is bad, just you need to save and buy what you need and what you want, not because it's the best image quality camera.
*
QUOTE(copperwire93 @ Feb 26 2014, 08:32 PM)
I disagree. If you wait until you really can afford a FF camera then you'll wait forever to get into the hobby until you completely lose interest in it as time progresses.

I think everyone must start somewhere, I started with a 5mp Xperia Sk17i then Canon Powershot A2300 compact, until now using a DX D5100. It's worth it, I don't feel membazir at all, rather I take it as my learning curve. icon_rolleyes.gif
*
agree with them, no point with beginners to aim straight for the higher end series, unless these beginners already own something and know what they want in their next upgrade, and if they really need ff, no wrong to go for ff though

woah your HDR are getting nicer everyday. anyways, i think the bottom shot could looks better in a darker exposure. because the colors aren't that nice on the bright part imo.
*
thanks bro for the advice. hmm.gif hmmmmmm, reminds me to process the normal exposure files too and make another version of the shot to compare with the HDR 1 and choose the better 1 , thanks! biggrin.gif

QUOTE(gnome @ Feb 26 2014, 11:25 PM)
IMO the best way to start is to based on your budget. You can recommend D4s but if budget only can get d7000 no use also tongue.gif

Thats what i always tell people when they ask me to recommend a camera laugh.gif
*
not to mention the better investment should be the lenses, better not throw all the budget into a D4s and pair it with cheapo lenses. haha

Um, but then the APSC-s nowadays are already very capable and more than what we actually need, since most of the people owning DSLRs nowadays doesn't really print.

FF is sort of like a ... want thing rather than a need. Damn those buyer remorse, haha

Nice pic and edit bro... How to create the effect like the one of Tanjong Lobang bridge.....
*
Thanks bro, not really sure what you meant by effect.. but that was a HDR shot with 7 bracketed exposures. I think the purple color cast on the bridge was from the twilight and long exposure of over exposed shot.

btw do you think its better to frame the shot abit upwards, instead of letting the tip of the bridge in line with the horizon

nice shot bro, the light was awesome rclxms.gif shame that i cant stay till sunset, when i was there there's nothing but blue sky and harsh sunlight

QiAnG, Pro3363, nice landscape pics.

For the moment, people in Semenanjung or specifically in the Klang Valley suffer lousy sceneries due to bad air quality plus water crisis.  sweat.gif
You already have D800. You want D4s some more?  notworthy.gif

Thanks bro biggrin.gif

Hi all, can anyone recommend a durable camera bag which is big enough to fit a camera + lens, spare lens and a tablet? I'm stuck on deciding to go with Lowepro Event Messenger 250 Messenger or Vanguard UP-Rise 28.

I'm open to other suggestions too smile.gif

Lowepro messenger bags are very nice looking especially the newer ones ...
*
hmm whats your budget?

currently i find kelly moore's thirst relief and fstop millar series bags quite good looking

Budget? I'm currently eyeing Manfrotto 055CXPRO4, a 4 section CF tripod, getting awesome reviews everywhere, bit large I think.

If you're looking for smaller tripods, feel free to look around those aluminum travel tripods from sirui or benro

Any recommended tripod below RM500? Can still stretch abit.

I'm currently using Benro A-0691 Travel Angel Alum. Tripod, small and light, around your budget, bit quirky though
