For me, 3k is not really worth. This price can buy a M15x or maybe M17x R2 with far higher performance than M14x.

About the M17x R2, M15x, Not newer, but better GPU. And upgradeable. M14x gpu is soldered on the motherboard.

The unit you telling is a GT series GPU, bare in mind that GT and GTX series performance different is quite a lot. And you can't upgrade it once you buy. Not like M15x, M17x, M18x or latest Alienware 17, 18.

Myway1985 is right, you can get a latest design Alienware 14 (i7 4710, GTX 765M) with RM 3.7k and have almost double the performance of the M14x you talking about.

not really a skin, but looks like carbon-fibre look sticker sheet. and yes, that cf sticker does come in colours other than black

Reason that I apply the skin is because I know the soft touch surface going to peel off by time. The skin is just added protection.

How much you saw for that? May be I can get you a better price.

i have used the machines for almost 2 years. there is no sign of surface peeling off yet.

The seller in taobao that I used to deal with have tons of color and pattern
silver, black, blue, yellow, gold and many.

Mainly got 4 type of surface you can found which is the one I stated below
1) Solid color 亚光
2) Carbon fible
3) Metal 金属拉丝
4) Shinning matte 星光磨砂

It won't harm when decided to remove the skin off. It required some skill to apply the skin precisely.

The skin that I bought "C surface/palm rest surface" always cover the touch pad, but I didn't install it coz I don't like. :P

er.. the soft touch surface remains but it's covered with plastip. the surface is still fine after tearing plastidip off.

For the M14x Battery. I only have SMP battery. Not the Samsung one.

Personally prefer build in battery rather than detachable battery

yes n no.. dell dint properly design the casing but generally gtx 880m is hot in all machine... so far no heard good thing from tat card... gtx 880m i heard design for sli only
