I'm always amazed by football players (especially during this World Cup)
They're so fit.

Anybody care to share your diet and exercise routines?

Fit? U're kidding right? Have u ever seen those basket ball and NFL players? Those r fit. Footballers only have a good pair of legs, that's it.

YOU're kidding right?
you've obviously never played football seriously before, alot of upperbody strength training is needed, think getting a rebound in basketball, you have alot of other players forcing you out of the way. you think legs alone will get you position?

hell even highschool level sprinters have an upper body training routine, you cant run back and forth over a 200m field continuesly with just legs.

And the summary is..........
The legs on football players seen at the World Cup matches hold more muscle than 99 % of the guys seen working out in Fitness First, Celeb Fitness, TruFitness, etc.

I'd rather have a skinny upper body and powerful lower body than look like a fuktard with a big upper body and chicken legs.

Oh darklight79, give us a break. Most of us are still beginners. Reason I didn't join the smaller gym nearer to my house with more basic stuff was becoz of the @#$%^&** opening hours. Not convenient at all.

me too.
As long as healthy and have a six pack...good enough for me.
Maybe weight lift if got free time.

IMHO, unless you body builders went in a competition for Mr. Malaysia etc ok la.
But no point la just to boast or show off to people you have big muscles.
Attract girls etc.
Maybe a bouncer in a club or something.
Or maybe wanted to intimidate people "...don't mess with me..I'll break ya..." tongue.gif

I heard that once you stop weight lifting...then you become fat.
Because those muscles needs to worked all the time.

Look at Malek Noor.
He lost it.
I don't want to be like that.

If skinny and strong as Bruce Lee...I want that.
Totally original muscles.
Hey...never seen anybody do a 2 finger push ups besides Bruce.
Even Jet Li can manage 3 fingers.

p.s: only God can intimidate me biggrin.gif

i get the same old wives tale from my friends too. muscular people will end up all loose and flabby when they gets old. bruce lee type physiques doesn't. when you age and you stop training, you end up all the same, old and wrinkled and flabby. so don't be stupid.

what's the point of you having a sixpack if not to show others? syok sendiri ar? come on. get real.

It's all about attitude though.

Maybe young people loves to show off.
Or maybe they were like that since...forever tongue.gif

I have my good looks...that was shown all the time laugh.gif laugh.gif
As long as have slim abdomen...don't mind not showing or not.

I want to show..then be a bodybuilder and compete in a bodybuilding tournament lorrr..

I agree on that.
But when you are old...can you lift weight anymore?
I don't think so.
But if you jogging and a bit Tai Chi..then still can do la.

actually people who work out the first half of their lives maintain a better figure without exercising than those who dont throught the second half of their lives. muscles dont turn into fat over night, it takes quite some time.

bruce lee wouldnt have gotten fat because he wouldnt have stopped training, he was obsessed with getting better and he's dead, dead people get skinny not fat.

well... when i got my six pack i was with 40-300 other men, i didnt want to show them my six pack... so yeah "syok" sendiri. rolleyes.gif not everyone works out for others, i did it out of necessity, i think people darklight do it for themself, you'd have to be stupid to put yourself through what he does just to go "oooh, look at my muscles".

double dose of hypocrites in the same day. by showing off i don't mean that you flash everytime some strangers walk past you.

so you trying to say you get a six pack because if you don't you might just get a heart attack tomorrow? neccessity. heh.

if you can't be true to yourself, who can you be true to?

no, i got mine over the course of 6 months at a training camp, not like i trained specifically for it, it just happened by itself, necessity being if you're not fit you get your ass kicked during sparring.

like i said, many of us arent doing it to show off, we do it for what we want for ourselves. also yeah, i dont want to get a heart attack tomorrow, if staying in shape will reduce the chances of it happening i'll stay in shape the best i can.

ETA: so what do you do it for?

having a presentable physique if not a head turning one and to convince everyone who aspires to be big that it is achievable if you put in enough effort.

i started out because i want to impress, i got over it now but i still want to progress. but the thought of having a better physique than everyone else is a recurrent thought i'm not afraid to admit. i don't flaunt by wearing wife beaters everywhere i go and i'm not reluctant to take off my shirt when i'm at the beach.

here's what i want to know. if someone wants to have visible abs what other reasons could it be? not that it applies to you since you said you didn't specifically worked for it.

edit: in short, i did it for the same reason everyone does when they shaves in the morning, comb and style their hair and buy new clothes for themselves.
