QUOTE(nuondanet @ Dec 12 2013, 05:51 PM) Nice! I'm still looking for a reasonably-priced 10193 - but I think it'll be beyond me pretty soon (if it isn't already) The 10193 in the corner of the pic is an unopened new set. Depends on what you mean by "reasonably priced", I might consider letting go from my collection. |

QUOTE(savien @ Dec 13 2013, 09:41 AM) Really depends on how you approach the situation. Scenario is that ALJ stocks all will have to go one way or the other. If they can sell at 35% off then why bother going down any further. Reason its going to 50% is because lots stocks still lingering, especially for the big city sets.If they have intention to get rid of it completely, strategy is to probably push it to the bigger resellers like Departmental stores which can commit to large quantity orders. Places like Isetan and Parkson are already pushing out their sets beyond the 20% mark down which is quite rare. Even like BBT have expanded their inventory for this sale period, unfortunately on ALJ terms. Meaning you wont see discounts beyond the 50% mark as resellers need to have some margin else why bother taking stock at all. We'll see, at this moment I'm personally holding my budget back from impulse buying just because its 50%. Unless it's a set you are "REALLY" targeting for. Just be ready for 26th~29th Dec. They might throw down beyond 50% but of course pissing off the Resellers and the earlier buyers who shopped earlier but to ALJ who cares! Come 2014 is LEGO Malaysia's problem already not ALJ. QUOTE(kittlsk @ Dec 14 2013, 12:48 PM) Hello all lego fans out there, One way my nieces did it was to download the Heartlake City Map from http://friends.lego.com/en-us/downloads/hl...eme/hlc-playmat. It's a double sided map with roads Print it out on padded vinyl where you can roll up. There's a advertisement printing shop on the ground floor at Amcorp mall which can do this. It's cheaper then buying base plates and can roll up when want to put the sets away.I'm new to this board and the only reason I'm here is for my soon-to-turn-6-yo-daughter. She has collected quite a number of Lego Friends series (about 20 of them, mixture of small and big collections) and I am thinking to buy a huge green base and plastic box to showcase all her collections. Would you be able to provide me tips to purchase this kind of huge showcase box online or offline, despite the lego shops at the gardens and tropical mall? Thanks very much! QUOTE(501-Elite @ Dec 14 2013, 11:20 AM) Looks like they replenished. Got like 20 more to go. At Rm65 can't really go wrong, so I picked up 2 sets this afternoon. No Sw or City advents. Everything else seems to be the same selling everywhere else. The 2 largest Friends set available at 35%, no biggie since already bought previously. |

QUOTE(zemperor @ Dec 15 2013, 07:58 PM) well, 42009 also more expensive and bigger than 42009 I just pick up a 42008 this afternoon at Brickboys MidValley. Was Rm350 after 30% off, so I figured why not. Put aside until I have sufficient time to put it together.for me, both is nice set, 42009 big and 42008 with pneumatic parts... actually i just open and build my 42008 last week and it tooks me about 6 to 7 hour ++ to finish it maybe it's the second biggest technic set of 2013 after the 42009... BTW, is anyone try to keep the batteries inside the battery box? will the battery power gone if i keep the batteries inside the battery box for some time? I have a Technic 9398 4x4 Crawler, I used 6X 2700mAH AA rechargeable NiMh batteries. So far don't seem to drain off the batteries if its powered off. even for the IR controller. Been more then a week, 4x4 still can run. |

QUOTE(cuteliz @ Dec 16 2013, 11:18 AM) They will make you wait. 70% on Small Friends and City Sets. Everything else 50% ... if you are lucky. Next 2 weeks. Trick is to make like you don't want it. Then they will drop until you cannot resist. Is like looking for the other sock in your laundry, you won't find it if you're looking for it. |

QUOTE(alanyuppie @ Dec 16 2013, 11:49 AM) If like that.... even Santa also will queue up with his empty big bag waiting for mall to open. he's stocking (no pun intended) up for next year's delivery. That's the idea. But probably not. I see everywhere ALJ is pushing out with as much coverage as possible. Saturday I was like in Pavillion, can see lego stand outside Parkson 30% off, Isetan Gardens, Suria KLCC then walked over to Avenue K prices like in Bangsar Village 2. I think the question is if we're only going to see these few sets going on sale or will there be more? Little by little, like the Advent calender has just been put on shelves. Castle sets, haven't seen any yet. Technics only the smaller sets. Bangsar Village had some Technic Helicopter rescue previously. Hobbits and some first wave LOTR. Brickboy is also sucking up a lot of stocks from ALJ on their terms. So I guess, will see how much stock can ALJ clear until 29th. As far as I know Brickboys has ordered more and ALJ only release to them in batches. It's a business strategy so keep all of us anticipating for release of more sets and more discount on those currently on sale now. |

QUOTE(cuteliz @ Dec 16 2013, 01:08 PM) Thats my gut feel lo. Unless Places like Parkson, Isetan, Brickboys, take more stock. As I know TrU is their biggest stockist of maybe just consignment to widen distribution coverage. Jusco, Metrojaya and the rest don't see them taking anymore stocks from ALJ.So it's really up what you decide. Me personally, am only getting selected themed sets that I really want at 30-50%. Rest is not priority. As we have seen so far the fools who rushed in to grabbing everything they can afford to buy @ 35% is regretting. Sprinter all KO. Marathon runner have to save some juice to finish the race. This post has been edited by chew_loong: Dec 16 2013, 01:30 PM |
