QUOTE(D.Sync @ Dec 4 2013, 11:00 PM)
Finally received my unprinted Thick PBT from IMSTO today! For statistics, I ordered and cleared the payment on last Friday and receive it today. Only took around 5 days to arrive. Initially I thought it would only take 3 days tops though seeing how close I am now with China. Anyways, I'm just glad to receive it finally! No complaint here.

Removing the keycaps, including the ones with stabilizer bar was really easy and not as difficult as I once thought, thanks to the Ripster guide that I followed here. In fact, it only took me ~15 minutes to fully remove all the keycaps. Putting them back is again, easy as pie!

Several things that I note:
- The texture is really something compared to ABS. The extra premium spent on this one is really worth it. You would have to touch and feel it to know.
- Apparently the keycaps that I purchased has a slightly lower height than the Filco. For example, the height for the QWERTY... in my ordered keycaps is having the same height as the 'ZXCV...' from Filco. Still, I really appreciate and like the lowered height as surprisingly, I feel more comfortable typing on it!
- Dark grey and black looks just perfect!  rclxms.gif Initially I wanted to purchase the White + Gray combo, but later decided to withdraw and choose the dark grey set instead. NO REGRET!
- BLANK IS SEXY  brows.gif

Here are some pictures taken throughout the whole process. Warning: Hefty load of pictures  wink.gif

Nice biggrin.gif
I'm wondering why we both like blanks and drovak users.
Serious question here. Are we same age group?
How old are you?

Ugly IMO. Yeah, I admit I jealous. tongue.gif  laugh.gif Seeing your keyboard make me want to remove my Poker II stock keycaps legend. laugh.gif
Old enough to use dvorak? laugh.gif And let me guess, he didn't play game too.  tongue.gif Is it hard to change to dvorak?
*
Not hard tongue.gif
Normally, you need a reason to change to the dvorak layout, if not you will halfway give up.

Should have dvorak for android.
If for iOS, is no, since iOS is sandboxed.

i think if u can't memorize qwerty, it's easier for u to switch to dvorak rather than those who have memorized qwerty! biggrin.gif
basically IT support, if i were to switch to dvorak, all other system that i need to support will be using qwerty D:
*
Every OS can change easily add the dvorak layout easily.
Just changing to dvorak when you attend their problem when they raised the ticket for support.
For remote, you can directly use dvorak.
I see no problem of that. Since, many IT support also using different layout like colemak, kinesis etc.
Linux, Macintosh, Windows are fully supporting Dvorak.
Tested. biggrin.gif

You working in Intel Penang?

How you shift to dvorak? Start from keyboard or what? I don't think it's easy for me unless there's dvorak keyboard infront of me. sweat.gif
Not yet memorize but already used too. I guess a qwerty forever.  laugh.gif
*
For windows 7/8 you go to Control Panel > Region and Language > Keyboards and Languages > Change keyboards > add United States - Dvorak

Ah then I would say we still have some age gap here. But passion and interest knows no bound right  rclxms.gif Glad to know you here~

Heh I'm really poisoned with the new kep cap. The lowered heights really make me typing more comfortably than before seeing my home table level is just few inches away from my heart area.
*
Then you around mid 20s to early 30s?
tongue.gif
For dvorak, really need reach enlightenment level before you willing to try.
You need to forget how fast you type on qwerty.
During learning, you will reach a despair situation where you see how stupid you are.
Because type like a kid, finding each key on keyboard. cry.gif

But if you mean their location then probably not.

You can.

Infact, for PCB mounted boards. Ppl rarely desolder the switches to mod it, simply remove the top case, take out old stem/spring, plug in new stem/spring and reinstall the top case.

You keep the base of switches till it is broken or having multi registering issues.
*
Hehe. So, I can buy MX Clear from 016 then replace my MX brown's stem with the MX Clear stem to make it MX ergo Clear without replace the brown spring.
If really so, really thanks.

I seriously think it is a little too much hassle. Might as well get a keycool with clear switches and test if you like it or not first b4 doing operation on your Filco/Ducky.

IINM, someone here is letting go their ducky g2 pro with clear switches, not a bad choice too.
*
Then after bought still need open out and replace the spring.
I want mx ergo clear, but not mx clear.

Because of this video, I'm thinking can I just swap the slider/stem without desoldering->solder to make it mx ergo clear.

Yup, that is what we call a PCB mounted board.

Very few mainstream mass market boards are PCB mounted.

Though, most korean custom can be either pcb/plate mounted, depend whichever you want.
*
Mainstream products like Filco etc as plate mounted must use soldering to replace while custom like korean certain keyboard with pcb mounted only able to do so?
