Nice and solid build. Would be nice if you can still add in a 128GB SSD, Plextor M5S at RM319 seems a good choice. biggrin.gif

should I grab GTX760 or R9 270X (BF4)?
*
Definitely GTX 760 for pure performance, right out of the box. Should go for Zotac's, since can get AC4 Black Flag and Splinter Cell Blacklist I think. Maybe got Batman Arkham Origins also. thumbup.gif

For your reference. Getting all the stuffs from Newegg US might probably save you a little $$ compared to what is quoted below. An exception for the graphic card though, it is almost similar to RM, no thanks to the mining craze in US. sweat.gif

Asrock B85M Pro4 – RM279
Corsair Value Ram 8GB DDR3 1600MHz - RM229
Plextor M5S 128GB SSD - RM319

You mean to include in the R9 290 in the quote above? I only include in R9 280X since he has a budget cap of RM3k.

Yup man. Nowadays at Newegg, the R9 290 becomes a $500 card already, up from $400. sweat.gif Suggest that TS buys it here and then take it with him to US. thumbup.gif

hi bro, is it possible that i get a GTX760 instead of the R9 280X? will it impact the balance of the pc in anyway? I was hoping to include a monitor in the budget too if possible but not losing so much of performance from gaming.

thanks !!
*
Sure, why not? The R9 280X is the faster card, that's why I recommend it. smile.gif

For RM3k build with monitor, can consider this.

Intel Core i5 4440 - RM564
Asrock B85M Pro4 – RM279
Corsair Value Ram 8GB DDR3 1600MHz - RM229
Leadtek GTX 760 2GB – RM849
FSP Hexa 500W PSU - RM149
WD Caviar Blue 1TB HDD - RM189
Cooler Master K380 Casing - RM149
Viewsonic VX2370S 23" IPS LED - RM499
Lite-On 24x DVDRW – RM59

in gaming which 1 is important
processor or gpu? new core i3 enough to handle high demand game?
i3-i5 have a gap RM200.should i topup to gpu?
if have limited budget..
*
chocobo7779 is absolutely correct. The keyword really is balance. Slowly, we are now starting to see games utilizing more than 2 cores, and that is where quad core processors slowly start to pull ahead of typical Core i3 / Pentium Dual Core in some of the recent games. If you can afford one, definitely go for at least an entry level quad core; e.g Intel i5 4430/4440 or AMD FX-8320/8350. This CPU should work very well with any of the newer GPUs out there in the market today. But if you're tight on budget, an i3 is still sufficient for today's standards.

Guys, wanna get suggestion here..

I want to built new PC, but some component are from my last built..

from my last built: casing, psu, hdd..
my pc is for downloading (torrents and direct downloads), watching HD 1080p movies..
Games? not so much, just candy crush via fb.. laugh.gif

so my plan right now focusing on Haswell components..
I only care about the board, like how many usb ports it has, like that, so
I don't mind spending more abit for my board..
I don't have specific budget, so feel free to add anything important for my system smile.gif

cpu: pentium G3220
gpu: no
board: ASRock H87 Pro4
ram: 8gb

And, I have questions..

1] is it really need to put 8gb RAM, will my pc ever gonna use it?

2] is it ok not to use any gpu, considering my case scenario, will this will effect my experience when watching movies,
like 10GB 1080p .mkv movie?

3]is it enough just using pentium g3220, also based on my case.. smile.gif
*
1. 8GB RAM is typically the recommended memory for most enthusiast / gaming PCs. From my personal experience, 8GB is more than enough for most cases. I have a 4GB based system and RAM is usually not enough, lazy ppl like me usually open up tonnes of tabs in the internet explorer. sweat.gif

2. GPU is optional. I have no prior experience having an integrated graphic based HTPC, but from little that I know thus far, it should be sufficient. smile.gif

3. Pentium G3220 is sufficient for your case.

Intel Pentium G3220 - RM174
Asrock H87 Pro4 - RM319
Corsair Value Ram 8GB DDR3 1600MHz - RM229
WD Caviar Blue 1TB HDD - RM189
Gigabyte GZ Series Casing - RM69
Gigabyte PoweRock 420W PSU - RM95
Lite-On 24x DVDRW - RM59

Total – RM1134 (prices are from Viewnet)

Fyi, I plan to use psu, hdd, optical drive and casing from my previous built, that will save me some money.. smile.gif

More questions here: laugh.gif

1] Let say I'm going to buy a gpu, what gpu fits well for my case, without having the cpu-gpu bottleneck each other? Just in case..
2] Is there any different to put 1x8gb RAM with 2x4gb RAM?
*
1. Do you plan to game with this rig?
2. In real life, you will hardly notice the difference. A single 8GB would do. smile.gif Leaves more RAM slots in case you plan to upgrade in future. brows.gif

Thanks, that's a good advice.. hehe  brows.gif ,the board has 4 slots, so lot can be added for the future.. smile.gif
Me not gaming much, just candy crush of fb, if that's considered gaming, biggrin.gif
If can, wanna play PES, if can't I don't mind..
*
PES don't require much graphical horsepower, so if it pleases you, you can get a cheapy MSI HD 6450 (RM109). smile.gif

It will pair nicely with something from the range of HD 7790 / GTX 650 Ti. smile.gif

How do we know whether the items combined is a good/bad pair?
*
You need a lot of hardware to be able to benchmark it first. tongue.gif Last time I managed to compared a Q8400 quad core paired with a GTX 460, which I noticed is nicely paired together. Moving a notch to GTX 560 Ti already start to have some bottleneck. So today's Pentium G3220 is roughly on par with the old Q8400 quad core, so it should pair nicely with a HD 7770 / 7790 / GTX 650 Ti (roughly on par with GTX 460).

QUOTE(Xypheria @ Dec 24 2013, 03:27 PM)
Hey bro. thanks for the suggestion

Hmm if I would like to ask, is my CPU still enough?
I had in mind where I want to go for

CPU : i5 4440 -RM569

Mobo : Asrock H81M -RM179

GPU :Zotac/Leadtek GTX760 -RM799

Chassis : NZXT H23 -RM235

Optical drive : Lite-On 24x DVDRW – RM59

Dell U2312HM 23" Monitor - RM629
Or the CPU and mobo are fine? (in my case)

But the cost is 2.5k. About same price if i want to build a new ones. I guess.
*
I do not think it's worth it to move from i5 2300 (Sandy Bridge) to i5 4440 (Haswell). The gaming performance increment going up to Haswell is very minimal only, as Sandy Bridge is still holding on strong. Haswell's power consumption is slightly better though. nod.gif So, the choice is still entirely up to you.

Should i upgrade my ram too?

If budget allows, why not? brows.gif Noticed that you already have 2 x 2GB (is it DDR3?), if so you can just add on another 4GB stick.

Optical drive : Lite-On 24x DVDRW – RM59

Dell U2312HM 23" Monitor - RM629

Max price is 2k including monitor

What brand should I go for RAM? Kingston HyperX?

edit: yeah I have 2x2gb DDR3..

Wahh, so today's Pentium is on par with quad core q8400? Quite impressive..
So that's how technology evolves for several years, so what to compared if just having haswell core i5 4430? laugh.gif
*
Yes indeed. Those dual core Pentiums are pretty solid performers, considering it is very cheap. LOL, nothing in Intel's previous gen (LGA775) can compare with the latest core i5. laugh.gif
