first of all,

download TL-MR3420_V2_120703 from here

go to 192.168.1.1 ( in any browser )

login the LuCI interfaces

Go to System -> Backup/Flash Firmware > Reset to Default

Then go to flash new firmware image,

Untick keep setting,

Browse to tplink original firmware (TL-MR3420_V2_120703 u download just now > flash

and wait for 1~3min,.. (router will be bricked if sudden power off or let power cut off in this period )

go to 192.168.0.1 ( back in stock firmware default login username admin and password is admin too )


then from there u can either :

- upgrade to latest stock firmware 121206 version or beta version above from 120703 version

- direct setup your stock firmware

golden rules,

flashing router firmware Always LAN CABLE connection only,.

never use wireless for that ,..

your V2 wont have enough space to install any packages,..
unless you add in usb power hub along with thumbdrive to extend the space ( all these process u can google it in youtube,.. ) there is few video tutor

i myself using a huawei E392 with TL-MR3420 V2,..

with wifi on 40MHz and everything is fine,.. can last 6~8 days before any Disconnected

guess your router have serious power supply issue on the board itself,.

and it seems like you need the QoS ( ip QoS ) instead of bandwidth control in your situation,..

as far as i remember, TPlink router QoS ( IP QoS ) only work for 3G not 4G,..

huntsman rooter only have the Smart QoS like Asus router,.. not the IP QoS bandwidth control,..

yeah u can, is much easier to setup in Rooter than stock firmware

as far as i know, dont have such ip hunter for any router,.

just flash into rooter,

then login LUCI 192.168.1.1

go to network > wifi > scan the wifi u want to connect,> enter password > then done, it auto share the wifi > lan/wifi

yeah i did it before,.

as simple as that, dont need to set anything else if u just want in wifi repeater mode

i search all of this before,.. no luck,

so u can search for it under the add on in openwrt or rooter and try your luck

it is depends on your budget, and usages too

if your budget permit you, get a better router like Asus/Microtik if your budget is lower, then get Tplink,..

usb modem wise popular model is Huawei E398, vodafone K5005, huawei E392,

RT-N16U or if you have more budget go for N56u, N66U, or even AC68 pairing with those 3 popular usb modem would be just plug and play

if u worry about the ppp dialing of 25mbps limit, purchase tplink or any 8mb flash router and flash to funnelweb rooter

u can refer rooter for which model router u want to purchase,.. then flash to huntsman or funnel web

huntsmand and funnel web confirm bypass the 25mbps limit of ppp dialing
