Thinking of buying ultra but i worry for the screen to crack as some forumers did mention their device crack without knowing the cause of it..
*
I think only one or two user has this problem. I would think is their fault in poorly handling their phone though they might not admit it. You should not allow such minority reports affect you.

Why not ? Especially for those with a budget. Probably will sell not more than rm1.2k as close competitors only around rm1k.

245ppi... Wow... Real man...  4gb user...
One gameloft game GG...
Maybe can't even fit a HD movie... Real man... At first I taught is ultra successor....

Dissapointed...
*
I think Sony will not upgrade this model further. Already rumoured successor will just be a wifi only mini tablet. Guess its abnormal large size does not appeal to those who wish to use it as a phone.

So guys, I just received the Brando power case, and the manual says that I can charge the case and phone together, but the website says I have to charge it separately. What??
*
Follow the manual. With phone in case you have option to charge phone or case . There is an on off switch for this.

Why do people worry so much about fingerprints, I personally like my phone with fingerprints and smudgy, makes it more comfortable to handle and touch. If it gets too dirty just wash it off, and it's fun!
*
+1. Such issue never even bother me. No big deal. Just wipe it off if it disturbs you.

Those planning to switch to HTC One make sure you get those manufactured after Nov 2013 or the latest Gold model to avoid the camera purplish n pinkish tint issues. This is advise from official thread. You can identify the manufactured date from the serial number. Checkup the official thread for more info.
The purple tint might not showup when new but will eventually crop up over time especially when phone is just slightly warm up.

Gold is newer than red ?
*
Yes. Red was released about 2 months back here n even earlier overseas. But a forumer who just bought the red about 2 weeks ago immediately complain purplish tint persists

Whole office hour day? 9 hours? Or 24? haha

Ya SOT is one thing that concerns me. I'm replacing N7 with this XZU. tongue.gif
*
N7 ( LTE) has better SOT than this phone based on my experience. Easily at least an hour + extra

Very likely is more than that. I used to own a N7 2013 WiFi...can easily get over 8 hours of SOT for browsing. Gsmarena is reporting 5.5 hours only for XZU. sweat.gif
*
Than is strange why you want to even consider changing from N7 to this since you are so concerned about SOT ???

Like the slimmer profile and the weight of XZU. 0.55" screen size reduction is not significant but 33% weight reduction is. tongue.gif
Give and take I guess.
*
It is very significant in the display size. Infact I have posted comparison of this before to proof my point. 0.5 inch might be small theoretically only. Is best you compare it yourself physically to judge the difference

Hi guys!

I've been stalking around the web for quite some time now looking out for any issues with the phone. Theres talk on unexplained screen cracks etc.

My question is: is it a batch problem? Have u faced any other issues on the phone that is not user caused.

Im just skeptical in paying for possibly defective phone when i want to use for about 2 years.

Edit: what is the difference between 3g and 4g other than data connection? like possible defect on 3g phones more?
*
I'd say you are worrying unnecessary
These issues are only reported by few users and does not necessary means is an issue
The fact of the matter is, most users will blame the phone first and is a natural reaction. They do not tell us the whole background story of how it happen and probably is their fault in handling the phone. This phone is monstrous in size and one really needs to take good care handling it
Every phone you will read of problems and again does not necessary reflect the majority of users... It is only an issue to consider if majority of users are talking about it

Those who has updated to 4.4, can you confirm that you can now write onto ext sdcard from inside phone eg
- copying files from internal memory to external sdcard
- deleting files from ext sdcard inside phone
- copying or moving files within external sdcard

Samsung had fix this in their 4.4 upgrade but not HTC as HTC just leaves it as Google default and now making the ext sdcard a handicap !! I have email and posted on HTC facebook several times and HTC just keep quiet and not even reply on this issue
This issue about kitkat treatment on ext SDcard can be found here

i tried 4.4 on z1. should be the same.

using ES file explorer
- copying files from internal memory to external sdcard - failed
- deleting files from ext sdcard inside phone - at first it can delete. but when i open file commander, the "deleted" file still there
- copying or moving files within external sdcard - failed

using the stock file commander
- copying files from internal memory to external sdcard - ok
- deleting files from ext sdcard inside phone - ok
- copying or moving files within external sdcard - ok
*
That is at least good as the XZU and Samsung comes built in with their own file explorer app BUT not HTC ( NO default built in file explorer app) ..at least Sony and Samsung had addressed this limitation with their own app

thanks raymondtong94 for the information. i think i gonna get it today. oh no! the sound is bad? anyone else experience the same thing? i read it is because of waterproofing isnt it
*
The phone speakers volume is very soft
You will have high chances of not even hearing it ring in noisy places
All due to the waterproof membrane
Earpiece volume is also soft
If you like to listen audio n watch videos best is to use a headset n don't ever show videos to your friends lest they say your phone speakers is defective!!

From my exprience you cannot use others brand charger for zu..you need to use the original one.. If not the charging progress is super slow....
*
I never even bother to use the supplied charger n cable
I always charge my gadgets using iPad USB charger cum HTC or Blackberry cable to charge all my tablets/phones
Never have any charging issues n has been faithfully doing it past 6-7 years
This XZU charging time slightly under 3 hours to full from 10%
