which one is better between Xiaomi Hongmi @RM750 and Jiayu G3T @rm580? The spec is more/less the same. Hongmi with bigger screen size and G3T with bigger battery.

I'm testing the phone today. Reach back home at 4.30am instead of 2am... air asia delay, check delay, taxi delay..  all delay..

Bought a umobile sim card to test from speedmart. morning apply to activate but until now still not activated. Cannot test 3G yet.

I have a feeling this is tegra version, hence its TD-SCDMA version. For WCDMA version, have to specifically ask for 中国联通 version. I've asked the shop girl to look for that version for me.

so ur mi3 is TD version?

I oso Pre order 2 units from this seller. Guess I've to wait long long time.
Btw the price no longer rm 630. It's 699 now.

better huawei honor 3c.. the price is lower and if broken still have service centre.

Do you guys not think what if the phone broken up? although has warranty, but that's international warranty, need at least 2 mths to be fixed and if more than 1 yr, how to fix?

I have not use Jiayu G3...however for Xiaomi Hongmi, it is worth every penny spent...very satisfying experience, and frequent updates on the MIUI rom means we're staying updated all the time smile.gif Community support very strong also.

Since both have almost identical spec, I believe the the performance of Jiayu G3T is not much different with your Hongmi. Got an offer for Jiayu G3T @RM580, while the cheapest Xiaomi Hongmi I can find is @RM750.

hongmi battery is quite good. 2000mA is normal for a 720p smartphone, especially 4.7" (think nexus 4). however, im sure you get better battery life with mi2s due to smaller screen. by the way u got a good offer there for mi2s, i would definitely buy it.

Tested with umobile 3g & surprised that 3g is available. Can use 3g with no problem. Even if it's a copy, it's better than hongmi. Ui is butter smooth. Play 3d games no lag. Lucky to get WCDMA version.

If more than one year shud be ok already. Even if it is broken, for the price it worth already. Even rm2k galaxy s3 got broken after one year..happened to few of my fren. So for this rm600-700 fon, if broken after one year n there's nowhere to fix, can j ust throw it away and buy a newer model which is probably around the same price tag as well.

Just my 2cent.

Xiaomi Hongmi (Red Rice) replicas rapid identification guide

Fake & Original
*
Shocking ... after a week of use, found mine to be fake. Bought from aliexpress, I was too fast to complete the transaction ... now unlikely can get refund for it. cry.gif

My thought was that since its a MTK phone and already low cost, there shouldn't be clones ... to my surprise, the details and the extend it goes to clone it.

My experience:
1. Was expecting it to be speedier (ignored)
2. Some apps crashes (thought maybe it just need an update)
3. Slow locking of GPS (maybe its ROM issue)
4. ....

Then, found I cannot update with the official ROM .... started to be suspicious. Googled and only little information online as it is still new and clones are also quite fresh. Use CPUZ and found that screen resolution is lower and the CPU is MTK6572 (dual core). You cannot easily tell from the outside, the ultimate test is using CPUZ and also general feel of the speed and by installing some more CPU demanding apps. The "about phone" also give the wrong information ... says quad core 1.5GHz.

The box even have the scratch sticker that has a valid code ... (the only clue is that the code has been checked over 1800 times online). The IMEI and the serials are also valid according to official site. They even clone the IMEI and serials!!!

icon_question.gif How can I salvage the lost? Anyone interested in a clone Hongmi?

Haha. Yea. Its definitely copy. Checked with cpu/ram identifer. Says cpu is mediatek mt6577 dual core. Even the flash memory is faked. Actual 4gb only. Lol. Anyway, the shop didnt cheat me la, upfront tell is a copy di. Its just that they made it so close to the real phone. I tried the real phone in xiaomi store.

The title of the post says Original Xiaomi Hongmi and throughout the communication, it is obvious we are talking about the real thing. So, yes ... it is cheating. The fact that the price is close to matching the real phone is already a cheat, it is only a little bit cheaper.

So, buyers beware. Sellers too when you source from China.
