just done my CBI session. Not really formal since not much technical questions. overall went fine.
Now waiting game begins.

Its been 1 month+ since my CBI session, emailed the HR but no replies.
I guess just need to wait..

They just follow a set of standard interview question i.e. what kind of leadership style you have, how you handle difficult situations, integrity questions, have you ever train ppl, what is you highest goal u wanted to achieve etc.
These are from my previous interview. Of course you have to have examples to support your answers.
Oh ya and of course the popular cringy question to answer..why u want to work with PETRONAS?

My case just found out (today) from a friend inside that the post i've been applying for already been filled. So i guess failed the attempt..HR also keep quiet only. huhu..

I was right not to put high expectation & sort of expected this thing happening.
But then again..life goes on. All the best for yours bro.

Nope..no OL whatsoever, done the CBI waited for almost 2 months, contacted HR, HR say will email to me the result, at the same time my contact inside mention that the position already filled by someone.The next 2 days, got official 'unsuccessful' email from HR.
Biggest factor of rejection (shared by my contact, not mentioned by HR) was my spouse is already in petronas & the department i applied for happened to be absorbed into the same department that my wife is in. so that's the end of it. Although we are not in the same discipline.

Why sad? contract can demand more salary. Plus you are in already. You want to be like us who failed to get in?
Being permanent is just an illusion IMO, you thought you have job security, next thing you know you'll be transferred here & there against your will.

Some if not most of us worked with vendor / contractor serving petronas so in the process we get to know people inside. Once in a bluemoon when there's vacancy, these contacts will inform us should the shoe fits.

Currently some dept is undergoing downsizing for 'cost optimization'. so yeah..you should understand the meaning.

Having own business is not wrong but one cannot do business with petronas or any of its subsidiary.
I know an operation technician having own contracting business with other clients except petronas, but he did declare it with petronas HR. So far so good.. he's still working also.

Being their contractor is also challenging, the cost cutting measures often makes you wonder are these people actually highly educated.
