QUOTE(gnne84 @ Mar 18 2014, 11:13 AM) thinking to use rom from china and they are using only 4gb custom rom as they only got 4gb version. From my opinion 4GB has more ROM to choose from compared to 8GB version. But some custom ROM do works on 8GB version.any limitation or thing to consider when choose rom for 8gb? or any rom is fine? much appreciate, thanks! |

Another important note. Some Custom ROM are based on China ROM, therefore, if you are on a International (ROW) based ROM, you will need to switch the whole ROM before flashing. Or else you might end-up having a bootloop.

QUOTE(shirley_andy @ Mar 18 2014, 11:55 AM) How do I check the compatibility of the baseband of a specific custom ROM to our country's baseband? Go to system settings > version infos. Check the baseband and build number. ROW means international based (S110, S116, S119, S123). If no ROW keyword then it's China based (S125, S129, S135).This post has been edited by sanderz: Mar 18 2014, 11:58 AM |

QUOTE(shirley_andy @ Mar 18 2014, 11:59 AM) Is there a possibility that although the custom rom is ROW based but its baseband might be incompatible with M'sia telco baseband? Probably, but I am on Vibe ROM baseband version V52 2013/11/06 working perfectly on DiGi & U Mobile telco. Not sure about others though. If you facing signal issue, try change the modem/baseband version.http://lenovo-forums.ru/topic/1702-%D0%BF%...%BB%D1%8F-p780/ Use Google Translate |

QUOTE(gunners_my @ Mar 18 2014, 12:53 PM) Like this:QUOTE ![]() QUOTE(gunners_my @ Mar 18 2014, 01:51 PM) now, my next question.. when I got my phone.. battery level was around 50%... so, do I need to charge 6-8 hours (for the first time) as what we did to old timer phones? If I need to do so, when shall I charge it? Charge before it drops below 20% or anytime from now? No, just use the phone until < 20% then only charge.btw, I read a lot about battery calibration above.. how does it work as I just can't find anything on calibration throughout the menu.. thanks again for help... appreciate it Ensure always use full cycle charge to prolong battery life. And don't use the phone while charging unless it is necessary to do so. This post has been edited by sanderz: Mar 18 2014, 02:02 PM |

QUOTE(gunners_my @ Mar 18 2014, 02:15 PM) yes, bro.. I did press that button on my router... probably that helps.. so, if pressing that button above solve the problems, would I have issue at outside wifi when nobody press that button for me? I ALWAYS charge my phone when the battery is less than 20%, full cycle can prolong battery life from my opinion. UNLESS need to go outstation then it cant be helped. Because my previous phone is a Galaxy Grand, now my mum using. I always charge it when the battery less than 20% and will not let it overcharge. Now after a year the battery life still last as long as new (of course it is not bulged too).on the charging, I thought we should not wait until <20% for charging... IMHO, I thought we shall charge it when it is >20% so that the battery can last long? And I will leave my phone alone when charging, means I won't use it. UNLESS it was really necessary like phone calls. This post has been edited by sanderz: Mar 18 2014, 03:21 PM |

QUOTE(13th @ Mar 18 2014, 06:13 PM) i forgot to turn off my data plan. guess what, reaching 15hours screen on time with 13% battery left. I think I could go on average 15-16 hours until the very last usage. Just a question, would charging the phone completely from 1% to 100% makes the battery last longer or , charging the phone when it reaches <20% or at 15% it pop up and ask to plugged in the charger. Which method is scientifically proven to be the best? EDIT: it's 16 hours 45 minutes and 16 second screen on time at the last 2% battery. QUOTE(gunners_my @ Mar 18 2014, 10:25 PM) Charge it when it pop-out connect your charger < 20%. Usually 3 hours will done the charge, and not recommended use the phone while charging. And make sure do not overcharge it (charge overnight) although it have built-in power cut feature after the battery is full.16 hours bro insane la, I couldn't do that although I have Greenify. |
