It is, gorilla glass is not crack proof. Other phones cracks as well but nexus 5 is a bit more fragile, maybe due to its size or perhaps the way the glass is assemble to the phone.

Android authority already made a drop test video on nexus 5 for quite sometime. The video shows the screen cracks easily even though its not scientific enough, based on watching the video I would get a casing.

Here is another video on drop test with casing, so yeah if you dont plan to use casing then better think twice I got myself ultra hybrid for my "coming soon" phone. I hope that is good enough lol.

If use spigen casing, maybe you will be safe since it has this 'lip' that protects the screen when it drops face down. Provided its a flat surface la.

Not really a major issue I guess since once we put the casing we wouldn't notice it?

Another issue people seem to face is the button doesn't work properly with some casing. E.g the casing will keep pressing the power button. Only some casing seems to be affected though, probably lemon units?

But yes sellers are not selling cheap though, which is one of the reason why you see so many started selling nexus 5 in the forum. High & easy profit, who wouldn't want plus if you need to claim warranty, you need to do it yourself.

I was in same boat as you, friend help to buy & I decided to post it internationally. Turns out shipping from aussie to malaysia is quite expensive around AUD130 (weight of 3 phones) so now just ask my friend to bring back. Willing to wait since its not cheap.

Plus by right you need to apply for SIRIM, so if kastam holds your package. You need to spend RM100 for SIRIM.

That would depends from who you bought, e.g if from techbug, just pay RM90 for shipping. Thats all. Not bad if LG malaysia charges more than that but yeah you will have to wait longer.

Depends from who you buy, few sellers over here in the forums dont provide such warranty. If unit spoils, its your problem. Some do help to ship it & claim warranty but shipping fees are borne by buyer. If buying from someone like directd I think you can claim warranty through them but I am not so sure & no idea how long it would take Heard a lot of horror stories from directd so..

edit: Oh, due to currency convert seems like its not cheap.

I am getting mine from aus, can save up to RM400 compare to what sellers are selling over here Just hope nothing is wrong with the unit itself. So far I think getting from japan, aus or us is the cheapest options for us right now.

You can get from uk then I guess, its slightly cheaper than sellers are selling over here. Try to get any tax rebate if its possible (not sure about this).

spigen comes with screen protector, I dont think rigke comes with it

Any advantages of using glass screen protector compare to something like spigen screen protector apart from it being more crystal clear?

seems like u didnt see the 2nd spoiler? I dont have the phone la, just casing Will be getting mine in 2days. Will only be able to tell you once I get it but casing alone weights 27g. Not that heavy

Yeah even though we dont have the phone yet, there is nothing wrong with discussing or buying the casing first. Since some of us still have to wait (those who dont want ap set) so just to pass time, there is no harm in deciding which casing to get.
