its neither that bad,,,nor fragile
we bundle them together (2 or 3 or 4++ cores as required) then we put inside teflon tubing (we can use mancis-thin 1mm tube)
the tube ends are crimped at plugs as the cable stressed points, the end result is a cable that looks supersexy thin but actually chemical/flame retardant
===teh ironman cable,,,,

what project? if the project allows you to choose connector type then id suggest forget about 3.5mm and use tiny xlr,
has 3-/4-/5-pole type, lockable (yayy), 1-to-1 contact points, pro grade, 10x better than antique rca/phone connector type

http://www.rean-connectors.com/en/products...nectors/rt4fc-b
http://www.rean-connectors.com/en/products...onnectors/rt4mp

last i checked rs comp / element14 have them

http://malaysia.rs-online.com/web/p/miniat...ectors/6949380/
http://malaysia.rs-online.com/web/p/miniat...ectors/6949392/

----

i use RT3FC-B + RT3MP combo replacing rca connectors,,,,
