Same issue. Mine even worst, from night 11pm to 6am, S4 in ideal and all apps is killed off, it drain about 45%. Got 1 time, phone totaly died off. Change new battery also no use. same case.

Not happen on my previous S4. Just change a new S4 recently.

As mentioned before, install wakelock detector or gsam battery apps to check what consume your battery. Install watchdog lite to check when runs down your CPU above your set % if your phone get hot.
