Might be selling my unit away. Going back to i-Pon

I tried using iphone 5S but could barely read articles in it....the screen estate is so SMALL, the letters just go blur at times (my eyesight going blur by forcing it to read smaller letters). Nowadays S4 is also my ebook reader, so iphone with its 4" screen estate is a big no no for me. You sure you want to go back to ipong kah?

Nope my device wasn't rooted before or after. The difference is that if your device is rooted, all you have to do is install the app and done smile.gif you're ready to backup.

However if you aren't rooted, then you have to install the app then download the windows helium program. This program (IMO) allows the app temporary root capabilities (ONLY helium app, and if you restart your phone that capability is lost). Its something like a tethered jailbreak for iOS, thats the best way to describe it haha biggrin.gif.
*
Where was the windows helium program installed at, the phone itself or pc?

You have to download the software for PC as well from http://www.clockworkmod.com/carbon

Once you open it, and it detects your phone connected to the PC, it will automatically enable root permissions for helium app in your phone. Then you can proceed to backup apps+data
*
Does that means the phone have to connected to the PC during the entire backup session?

wat da crap... barely 3 months.. the phone already lag like hell
*
I think that got more to do with that apps you got running in the background than the OS itself.

Used battery gsam battery apps (see what consume your batt even when you are not using apps) with watchdog lite (when it lags, straight go watchdog realtime to to see whats been running down your CPU thus the lagging).

I'm on stock 9505 4.3. Buttery smooth. Do keep watch on apps' CPU consumption and wakelocks. Only occasionally encountered video media high CPU burst. Nothing that can be solved with a phone reboot.

Nope. You can disconnect once you have run the app for both PC and phone at the same time smile.gif.

Thx. I stop playing HD RPG games on my phone after I lost all save games data when I changed from S2 to S4.

Use the stock Active Apps widget to monitor and kill opened apps.

With stock 4.3, now occasionally my widgets stop updating. Meaning it does not display the latest status.

The clock stop moving at a given time, then all other widgets stop updating as well (etc battery status stuck at the same time the clock stop, 3gwatch data usage also stop at that time, etc).

The icons and widget still worked inside their apps, just not updating onto the widget on main screen. Takes a reboot each time to recover.

Besides that occasional widget jam issue, my 9505 working perfectly ler....very smooth and fast. 4.3 fixed the camera speed, very satisfied with camera now. If your other 9505 phones are laggy when compare with 9500, most like its their background apps not optimized.

Besides I keep telling everyone who would listen (I know someone listen till vomit liao), the super smooth, less stain, very sharp and clear glast. nano glass really enhance the phone usage value overtime.

Coupled that with the full case SGP Slim Armor View makes the phone a sight to behold. Original casing material really do makes a difference for casing. Hundreds/thousand of times of case opening, the clip/clutch still grip tightly, oil/water can be easily wipe clear of casing, the material grip is as good as new and minor swirling scratches can actually be scrub off. Comes with a screen protector for the S-View and got a cheapo screen protector to cover the other side of S-View screen when flipping the casing cover backward. So S-View looks very sharp and clear. Noticed other S-View casing and screens of other S4 pales in comparison of clearness after some time.

Is there any easiest way to change what'sapp  database from one phone to other.?
*
Go into Whatsapp->setting->chat setting and click on the backup.

Then goto Myfiles and copied the entire Whatsapp directory to either your external sdcard or pc or cloud (google drive, dropbox, etc).

On your new phone, BEFORE downloading whatsapp app, copy the entire Whatsapp directory from your backup media (sdcard, pc or cloud) into the main directory of your phone. Then download whatsapp apps. When installing it will install to the same directory and detect your old files and asked you if you want to restore.

Who summoned me from my afternoon nap !!!!

Apply the original protector on the OUTSIDE side of the screen. That's where you touch the screen during S-View call answering. Also gets oily when you put your ears on it, so better get it protected.

The INSIDE side of screen is not protected since when cover flip to back, the raised clip will raise the phone a couple of millimetres of the desk or whatever.

What I DID is buy a RM10 protector (S2, S3, S4 whatever protectors). Measure and cut the size of the S-View screen and stick it to the INSIDE side of the S-View glass. Protected on both sides and touch function thru the S-View glass still works seamlessly.

Any S4 user having battery drain issue here? My battery drain so fast. I tried every guide in the internet but nothing works. It's weird when I read S4 have the longest battery life in a website last time but in my case, S4 is a curse for me.

First do not use auto-light unless its absolute necessary. I used 10% light setting most of time except when outside, under the sun, where I have to set to auto to read.

Check using battery apps ie GSam Battery app to see what apps consume your battery especially those non-active apps might be running in background. For on the spot checking esp if your phone is running hot for no reason, watchdog lite app can check what apps are currently running hot inside (CPU usage).

Jeez, Google removed battery apps access in KitKat. So cannot use battery apps anymore unless root.

Gsam Battery app is one of the main apps I used to monitor wakelocks, battery usage and various functions (temperature, etc).

Cant really blame the developer. Even BBS and Wakelock Detector now require root in order to use them sweat.gif thanks to Googlw, they change everything under the hood in KK4.4 update sweat.gif
*
I'm really NOT looking forward to KitKat implementation then. Unless KitKat eliminate issues of runaway wakelocks, background tasks running amok, it is a step backward for Google.

Guys, which is good in terms of Software stability Octa ver or LTE?
*
Same same. Both are stable and "unstable" at same time. So no advantage on software over one another.

i dont really know how to use GSam app, but why dont you try Wakelock Detector here ? its much easier to use IMO.
*
GSam also very easy to use, just go to the apps usage indicator and then select what type of reports listing you want from the top, go selection from % of battery used, time held awake, num of times awake, CPU used listing, etc.

My s4 is running smooth and superb. Loving it more each day!

No error no defect anything.

I just feel that the premium feeling is missing.

Guess this will be my last device under samsung brand.

S4 running smooth....loving it more every day......no error....no defect....

And just because it lack premium FEELING......it is the last device you gonna buy under Samsung.

Mmmmm.....you just listed everything that a prefect "premium" phone should except for lack for "FEEL"...

I would rather have everything you listed rather than that "feel".

Anyway, slap it under a "premium" casing with a glass-based protector.....anything also feel premium.

Yesterday, I asked my co-worker, why she still using her 4S with that celupy looking 3rd grade plastic casing as I heard she already ordered the "premium" good looking aluminium glass based 5S.

Oh....this is the new 5S she's using, she said..... sweat.gif

Slap a celup casing, anything premium feel also gone. doh.gif

I know, I always says so too.

I only commented when he mentioned that's probably the last Samsung he will buy, that indicate a serious issue? Usually we said that when we have a lemon at hand.
