quite noisy tyre, but if u r ok with it, then the tyre is not bad.. suggest better to take dunlop sport j5 (if comparing same brand/range)
*
i value grip & performance over comfort/noise/threadwear
i dun mind noise if it grips good at that price range

Hi there... need advise on tyres...

Am using city stock tyre 185/55r16

Using mainly for long distance driving and work... due to change all 4 tyres soon...

What tyre do you guys suggest? Budget i think less than 250 per tyre...
*
If you're long distance driving and long hours driving I'm sure you're going to be rolling around at 60kmh at the highway when it's wet/dry, right?

Originals should be Goodyear Excellence, decent enough for OEM's, they'll be around the RM150-200 range.
IINM you're owning the high spec City so it comes with 16" rims that are thin so from 185, max you can go is 195, 205 fit but i dun recommend.
sad thing is 16" not many choices so gotta go with the economic crappy tires mostly.
15" got more variety but for u gotta change rim so not an option.

Choices:
Toyo Nano Energy 3 (or any variation): RM130-160 piece of shit

Michelin XM2+ : RM180-200 slightly better than your OEM's.

Continental tires : anything with "C" in the product same is crap, remember C=crap!

Goodyear Assurance 3M : never tried, never bother another bland boring over price tire like XM2+

Dunlop D06 : cheaper than XM2+ but noiser by alot

Sumitomo HTR : 250 per side made in Japan quality notworthy.gif

One of my tire's (Bridgestone Turanza ER33 215/55R17, 3yo, 40km) PSi drops from 33 to 20 within a week lately and the tire shop cant find out the problem. Tested no small puncture, changed to metal valve, sandpapered the rim's edges, but problem persisted. Pls help.

BTW anyone know how to search for tires in Lazada with installation in JB?
*
warranty dun cover?

Haven't check with the tire shop but does this problem normally covered under warranty? Thanks for the heads-up.
*
if done all that can be done
we can assume it is tire quality issue which is a manufacturing issue so i think can claim

OK will call Bridgestone HQ tomorrow, thanks.
Last option is to change a new sets of tires, BTW can I change from 215/55R17 to 215/60R17 tires, am looking into Goodyear ATM2 @ rm350/pc inclusive of installation. Goodyear only has Excellence 215/55R17, no ATM2 215/55R17.
*
Excellence is OEM base tire.
Not fantastic not terrible.
Don't expect performance if you're aggressive driver.
going from 2155/55 to 215/60 means the tire is taller.
which is also a cons for aggressive drivers.

watch this video for a crash course on tires rclxm9.gif

What about my existing tires, Bridgestone Turanza er33 215/55r17 @rm370, is it any good. I am a non-aggressive driver 98% travel locally at JB. I want my tires to be safe n log-lasting.
*
Turanza is a good upgrade from OEM's.
Since you're in JB, I'm sure you can get hold of Sumitomo tires, made in Japan but few dealers in Malaysia but has dealers in Sinkie.

Err it's subbrand of Linglong.
Why not buy the newer RE004?
RE003 grip in the dry is good but in the wet you need to be more cautious.
*
oic....i am just impressed of it's size range even my friend's weird tire size oso got

so happened RE004 need to wait for stocks RE003 got so just try as I never tried these high range tyres before
also RE004 cost RM100 more per pcs sweat.gif
Initially going for Turanza but left 2 pcs  doh.gif
So far felt the diff between these high range and normal budget tyres.
ok will take note abt wet conditions. Thanks
*
really depends on your driving style and car use.
RE003 is the dry condition king but on the wet & cold it's performance drops significantly if you compare to those within it's price range.

Been surveying some shoes for my SUV, sharing my findings.

235/55/r18

Kedai Papan Klang
Delmax Utility Pro - 200
Achilies 868 - 280
Rovelo RV08 - 280
Landsail CLV2 - 300
Conti UC6 - 445
Conti MC6 - 450
Toyo CR1 - 365
Bridgestone D33 (Japan) - 590
Bridgestone RE004 - 550
Atlas Paraller - 320
Michelin Latitude Tour - 720

+ Rubber valve RM5 each / Steel valve RM10 each
+ No mention of balancing so this might be chargable
+ Alignment whole car RM32
Usually Kedai Papan is only good for cheap price, service and alignment sucks.

H20 Klang
Sumitomo (Japan) - 460
Dunlop Formula D06 - 450
Conti UC6 - 490
Silverstone - 420
Westlake (Thai) 360

+ Balancing & Valve free
+ Alignment is chargable and this can be abit of money anywhere from RM5 to RM25 per side but usually my experience with H20 they give good service and their alignment job is on point.

Many shops saying 01/03/2021 price increase so better get it done now. whistling.gif
