Income Tax season!
http://www.iras.gov.sg/irasHome/page04.aspx?id=14572 QUOTE For the Year of Assessment 2013, all tax residents will receive an income tax rebate of up to $1,500. You do not need to apply for this rebate as IRAS will compute this rebate automatically for all tax residents. Last year filing we got a 30% income tax rebate. I google the budget 2014 highlights page it doesn't mention anything about the rebate liao. So does this mean this year filing no more 30% off? |

QUOTE(The Net Surfer @ Mar 15 2014, 06:56 PM) Is there any room for share in Jurong East? Preferably near to International Business Park. TQ It is possible to find shared room. The hairdresser I was talking to the other day was 3 girls sharing one master bedroom in some hdb somewhere. Unfortunately other than going to mrt station public notice boards I don't know how one would find such rooms. Having said that ... I really don't understand why you would bother coming to SG if you can only afford a bangala lifestyle. |

QUOTE(The Net Surfer @ Mar 16 2014, 12:37 PM) Saving : SGD 1350 While your belief (b4 survey) is that there is no working professional willing for a room share, I actually already have got two contacts on hands. Dunno if you quote wrong or what but I wasn't the one who said that "there is no working professional willing to share rooms." Anyway if you wanna live like bangala then go ahead lor. I've heard so many complaints from people working here about cannot tahan their landlord/landlady/housemate, living in same house also so much friction what more living in the same room. Hopefully you get a room with pleasant roommates. |

QUOTE(The Net Surfer @ Mar 16 2014, 12:37 PM) Here let me share with you what is the saving with SGD 2800 QUOTE(The Net Surfer @ Mar 16 2014, 02:58 PM) Grad in Malaysia, been working in KL for 4 years. I thought you fresh grad with that sgd2.8k offer. Degree holder 4 year exp why are you bothering with an sgd2.8k job? That is like entry level salary. If you say it's ok I put one foot in the door first then build my career up from there ... SG is more competitive than MY. Are you very very sure that you'll be able to compete, considering the fact that you're unable to get a job offer commensurate with your qualifications/experience? QUOTE(nubJeff @ Mar 16 2014, 08:46 PM) Hi guys, recently I'm working in UOB bank. But I'm actually now trying apply to Singapore (Not internally transfer), it's seem difficult for me get into banking industry there. Anyone here can give some comments to me, I got rejected from many applications QUOTE(monsteru @ Mar 16 2014, 08:57 PM) Hi Mate, i'm applying for banks there cos i got background frm bank also. Apparently it is VERY hard to get into SG banks unless you're PR holder or looking for sales position. I'm currently stuck in airline call centre while still pinning hard for a bank here tho. Grass isn't as green liao, for banks in particular and 'SG hiring foreigners' as a whole. With the whole sinkie noise level agains foreigners "stealing their jobs" rising, and banks cutting jobs left right and centre or moving them to cheaper places like India and KL ... well, it's not impossible but definitely harder to get yourself in here without any lubang or any special skillset that isn't readily available among 1. the local SG people 2. the indians who are masters at selling themselves and 3. the other SEA countries willing to work for much less than any of us. |

QUOTE(thexs @ Mar 18 2014, 10:24 PM) Hi guys, just a quick question: What pass should I get if I'm a Malaysian working as an audit associate with a pay of <3k? there are people (degree holders) who can get EP on pay <3k as well. in any case your company normally decides what type of pass it will try to apply for you. |

QUOTE(nubJeff @ Mar 23 2014, 06:32 PM) Arghh...why so difficult get into bank industry in Singapore? They reject me like without considering, night send..next day morning rejected. that means your resume simply isn't good enough. either you lack the skills and experience that a SG bank wants but can't easily get within the existing SC/PR pool, or you have the skills n experience but your resume itself sucks. |

To be frank, the main reason for me to work here in Singapore is because of the 2.6 I don't understand how that article is supposed to make sinkie netizens feel any better towards malaysians (and foreigners in general). That's like us saying oh wow so many Africans here but it's fine because their living conditions are sh*t back home so let's welcome them here with open arms |
