QUOTE(crusher @ Dec 11 2013, 12:25 PM) not many people will be willing to pay even RM50 in Annual Fee, whatmore RM388.There is no explicit condition to waive Annual Fee unlike RHB Infinite / World where u need min spending of RM100K / RM50K to waive the Annual Fee. That remains to be seen but what do u guys think, will OCBC give AF Waiver for spending of just RM10K to RM20K? Btw, there is no mention of free bag for Titanium Card who upgrade to World Card. |

QUOTE(shawnk @ Dec 11 2013, 01:21 PM) Just checked with OCBC call centre myself. Unless you travel a lot and use the Plaza Premium Lounge, there is simply no way that the incremental 0.2% is worth the Annual Fee of RM388.For OCBC Titanium card - Confirmed that AF will be free for life. - No waiving of GST or RM50 rebate annually, regardless how much you spend per year For World Mastercard - RM 388 AF for second year onwards since first year is waived - AF and GST can't be waived, regardless how much you spent annually. - With 0.2%, one has to spend RM194,000 just to get back rebate of RM 388 to cover the AF. Summary: Better to stick with OCBC Titanium card if you are a die hard OCBC fan. There's plenty of equivalent CC around the market with unlimited 1% rebate, not to mention with evergreen point system no? Makes no sense, other that for boasting rights. |

QUOTE(fahrur_07 @ Dec 12 2013, 03:19 PM) OCBC is still useful for big ticket items save forPetrol Telco Utilities Pharmacy cos UOB only gives 0.3% unlimited for others. Just to digress further, OCBC also offers the following Cards Name of Card / Rebate % / Annual Fee / Additional Special Feature OCBC Gold - Rebates of 0.20% unlimited / RM38 OCBC Platinum / Rebate of 0.50% / RM188 / Auto Easy Payment Plan for big purchase now compare against the Titanium OCBC Titanium / Rebate of 1.0% unlimited / Zero Annual Fee Why would anyone in their right mind want to apply for the above 2-other cards and why would OCBC Still want to offer such an inferior card? QUOTE(OptimusStar @ Dec 12 2013, 05:32 PM) Going to cut this card and replace with MMB Dual. For your auto billing, aren't you better off with OCBC as it offers unlimited 1%.I hope can use it for all my previous auto billing. My understanding was that Maybank2Card USP is 5% on weekends with rebates capped at RM50 per month. |

QUOTE(kurtkantoi @ Dec 17 2013, 11:13 AM) I plan to terminate this card today. 1. Yes - you must inform all your service providers to charge to new card1. Should I inform my autobiller company to stop charge this card? 2. Will autobiller company able to charge to my credit card if I stop the card? 2. If you cancel your current card, your service providers will NOT be able to charge the amount to the Card. Your amoutn will be considered as unpaid and will remain outstanding in the next month billing cycle. |

QUOTE(kurtkantoi @ Dec 17 2013, 12:00 PM) No, I have Streamyx bill & Celcom bills put in autopay OCBC-Ti's system. So, if want to terminate my OCBC-Ti, do I need to inform my streamyx & Celcom? Or just terminate the card and pay the bills via maybank2u or cimbclicks. Sorry for confusing question.. You should need to do both1) Inform streamyX / Celcom to stop auto billing as they will continue to charge to your OCBC 2) Pay Manually But since you are paying Manually, it may not matter but their system will continue to charge to invalid card. |

QUOTE(Gen-X @ Dec 16 2013, 08:57 AM) Like you, I spend about RM1K per month only previously and I also received the upgrade offer where the first year annual fee is waived plus RM50 rebate. Unfortunately I cannot view Blogs at work but will definitely check out what u wrote at home.To ALL: I just published a freaking long article where I did a comparison between OCBC Titanium MasterCard versus OCBC "fake" World MssterCard. And the OCBC Titanium MasterCard beat the heck out of the OCBC WMC. Like I said, it's a freaking long article and in the article I touched on many subjects which may not interest most of you. But if you really got time to waste, click the link below and find out why we should just stick with our OCBC TMC instead of getting the OCBC WMC: AGAIN - A Little Bit of This and A Little Bit of That. Noted that you wrote that for ppl who spend RM5K a month, the best card is the Alliance Platinium as it offers RM68 in Cash Back (based on their tier system) which is higher that RM50 for Titanium or RM60 for the World Card. Of course, the drawback of the World Card is the high Annual Fee. What do you think of ppl who spend RM5K to split into 2 Cards, RM1,666 for AEON Watami (so every quarter about RM5K for Cash Back of RM150) for monthly Cash Back of RM50 per month and charge RM3,333 to Titanium for Cash Back of Rm33.33 The total effective monthly Cash Back will be RM83.33. of course, AEON Watami only pays the CB every quarter. Both Cards offer free Annual Fee. Under this way, the incremental CB every month is RM83 - RM68 or about RM15 a month or RM180 a year. After less of RM50 for GST, the incremental is still RM130. But another drawback is neither card offers free entry to the Airport Lounge. This post has been edited by cfa28: Dec 17 2013, 01:36 PM |

QUOTE(bearbear @ Dec 17 2013, 02:10 PM) you still get more cashback with Alliance Platinum for RM3333 compared to OCBC Titanium, slightly but still more. This we have not include the reward point and unlimited KLIA lounge entry. Hey, you're right.OCBC: RM 33.33 Alliance Plat: (500*0.6/100) + (850*0.7/100) + (1200*0.9/100) + (783*2/100) = RM 35.41 If you take OCBC offer to upgrade to WMC, you do get more cash back in it compared to Alliance Plat but add in the annual fee for OCBC WMC we can go to the next discussion already But just that this OCBC is still attractive for big ticket items > RM5K. Looks like I should also apply for Alliance Platinium and just use my OCBC for one off items. |

QUOTE(Gen-X @ Dec 17 2013, 02:29 PM) In my article Effective Cash Back of Credit Cards, I have shown that with RM5K/month spending, one can earn up RM1,033.60 per year in total equivalent cash back after deducting RM50 GST with the Alliance Bank Plat. So the effective cash back from Alliance Bank with RM5K/month spending works out to be approximately RM86 after deducting GST versus RM83 for the AEON Watami and OCBC TMC Combo you mentioned above which has yet to deduct RM100 GST. I cannot find the Reward Points that Alliance Bank offers that you were talking about in your Blog, you said RM5K spendings = 60,000 reward points but the Alliance website only mentions that 2x reward points for overseas spending. So, this means that local spending can get 1 reward point for every RM1? This post has been edited by cfa28: Dec 17 2013, 02:56 PM |

QUOTE(crusher @ Dec 17 2013, 04:05 PM) If you have swiped quite a good amount and always paid in full, calling in may do the trick. But some Banks, esp the foreign ones always ask for proof. My CL for Citibank was very low cos I applied like 15-years ago. I asked them to increase CL before but they asked for Salary Slip, BE Form, etc. Was too lazy to provide but when I applied for new cards, I did give the latest info, so my other CC CL was very much higher than my Citibank CC |

Just wanted to share with you the face of the guy who signed off on the recent Love Letter that we received from OCBC
http://www.ocbc.com.my/assets/pdf/Media/20.../OCBC_Cards.pdf http://www.theborneopost.com/2013/12/05/oc...s-on-all-items/ Its funny, he says that he wants OCBC to be the favourite 'Number 2' card for every MY. Why No. 2 and not number 1. The OCBC Titanium was my Number 1 card and I have charged all my expenses (save for Petrol). Now, I am not going to charge anything save for one off annual items. That also, I am rethinking as even Alliance with the combined Cash Back and Reward Points gives higher effective returns of 1%. If I keep the Titanium, my net returns from the Card is probably going to be less than RM50 per year (after GST). This post has been edited by cfa28: Dec 18 2013, 03:43 PM |

QUOTE(Zer0 c00L @ Dec 20 2013, 10:12 AM) Nobody can give you a definite answer as this is a newly launched card. OCBC giving unlimited cash rebate 1.2% for the World Mastercard is only good if u have very BIG one off purchases in addition to heavy regular monthly spending. As much as we all like it for that additional 0.2%, the annual fee conundrum is what's holding us back Say RM5K spending, OCBC Titanium = 1.0% Cash Back or RM50 and World Card = 1.2% Cash Back or RM60 If you charge the same amount to Alliance Platinum, you'll get Cash Back of RM68 plus can redeem Cash Vouchers of RM20 for total cash value of RM88. But say, if u charge RM10K to the World Card, your Cash Back is RM120 If u charge to Alliance, your Cash Back is capped at RM68 + Cash Vouchers of RM41 for total cash value of only RM109. |
