QUOTE(stinky @ Jan 11 2014, 09:53 PM) I ordered mine at 12.30am, but DHL only show "shipment already pick up" Strange thing is mine is ship from Singapore to KUL. How come not ship from China? I would prefer UPS to DHL QUOTE(kuntakinte @ Jan 11 2014, 10:10 PM) Yeah, last time I ordered iPad 3 from apple store, it was shipped from china.. Looks like they may have a new distribution center in SG for this region, I guess. It was delivered by FedEx the last time. In China, there are 2 warehouses. This is where all the Apple shipments are stored. Foxconn produces the products. Singapore has a warehouse too but only limited quantities meant for SEA region. If your shipment comes from China, it is either a customized (engraved) or there is no ready stock in the Singapore Warehouse. UPS tracking page has a scheduled delivery date info Shipments from China usually will take another 1-2 working days only. As of now, all Apple shipments are handled by DHL only, except Third Party areas, which is not covered by DHL. UPS service is no where near DHL This post has been edited by andrewtho: Jan 12 2014, 01:31 AM |

So Machines quoted me RM1259 to replace another iPad Air since my device is considered as 'out of warranty' as the screen cracked last week. That's like paying 80% of the original cost for a new iPad Air after one month.

QUOTE(wilsonphua @ Jan 22 2014, 09:44 PM) How did you drop it? I thought iPad got shock proof....can drop one, my friend's iPad 2 dropped on the floor and still working, no crack lol With a casing on. Ironically. Was sitting by the bench and placed my ipad ontop of my bag and somehow it slipped and fell on the ground. Like knee length height. Hit the edge, causing the screen to crack |

QUOTE(tabs @ Jan 22 2014, 09:59 PM) maybe u ask people from here to do the exchange screen lo. but ipad screen used to be expensive. i used to pay 450 for my ipad 3 screen crack previous year. at the end i buy a new one instead of repair as it is not worth of repairing Cost about RM500 to replace a new screen. As for a new unit, not considering since the device is only a month old. It's like throwing away 1.6k. Will replace the screen after CNY good luck |

QUOTE(ftan @ Jan 23 2014, 06:53 AM) Sorry to hear about your ipad air. Probably replacing the screen. 3rd party that is.So which option are you taking? If replace the new screen ($500), is it outside or by Machines? It would void the warranty if repair is done outside. But cost would be cheaper. Replacing the screen will not void the warranty no? |

QUOTE(theberry @ Jan 24 2014, 11:15 AM) The warranty void at the moment u pull up the battery. Apple make it hard for people to dissemble the There is no need to pull up the battery to replace the screen. If you've watched videos on screen replacement, all they need is a heating gun to 'melt' the adhesive and remove the screen from the device. Plus, a broken screen = out of warranty. Meaning to say that the warranty is already voided. Won't make any difference if it is being replaced anywayProduct . Everything u have to go through pull up the battery first before u can dissemble anything else but battery there got warranty sticker, that's why it put u in hard position. |

QUOTE(UpCar @ Feb 19 2014, 10:41 AM) sorry to disturb but i am very new to the apple product line, never owned 1 before. Apple products are pretty much standardized. Everywhere is the same pricing, more like a 'controlled' item. There is no pros or cons for an iPad. If you really want to differentiate between an Android and iOS, there is always plenty of websites and forums that explains and differentiate the differences, just need to put in more effort in looking.i am planning to buy this tab for my other half. can anyone summarize the good pros and cons of owning this ? can anyone tell me where can i buy this for the lowest price ? i usually deal with directd and satu gadget but i'm not sure if they are offering the best price for apple products. |

QUOTE(freakyleon93 @ Feb 23 2014, 12:07 PM) hello everyone, I'm planning to get an iPad Air real soon. Cheaper? Wait for Red-Friday sales next year because the pricing is pretty much standard for Apple products. Controlled item. So basically just go to wherever that is at your convenience.Where can I get it cheaper? or it is standard price everywhere? |

QUOTE(lightning69 @ Feb 23 2014, 12:31 PM) Don't be so sarcastic. The price of Apple products are not exactly standard. How is that being sarcastic? Do you feel offended? My advise is don't get from outside retailers as some of them do charge higher than those Authorized Apple Retailers. Go to Malaysia Apple website and check out the price first and that is the price you should be paying for any Apple products. Even some Authorized Reseller might force you to bundle with case and screen protector etc so the price is not exactly standard per se. Apple's pricing are always the same across every single authorized retailers in Malaysia. We do not have Black-Friday sales hence the only time that Apple products are on discount is during Red-Friday sales which happens to fall only ONCE a year. Since he missed that deal, he can only purchase it only during the NEXT red-friday sale. There is no such thing as force in consumer purchasing. You have the options to decide for yourself. The money is yours. Not such thing as 'MIGHT FORCE'. They force, just leave. Simple. And from my experience of authorized retailers, no one ever offered or 'forced' me to bundle my Apple devices before. This post has been edited by andrewtho: Feb 23 2014, 02:03 PM |
