note 2 is NOT a beast, it's a lazy fat cat, lag as hell. note 3 is just miles better than it's older brother, it's fitter and faster. problem is, the nexus 5 will be coming out in a couple of months and if u don't have that much of a budget, nexus 5 is better.

if u don't take precautions, even cheap RM60 phones also will get snatched. ppl got murdered for far less nowadays.

ppl who says the note 2 isn't laggy either didn't use it long enough or didn't try any alternatives which are a lot more snappy and responsive before. samsung solved the lagginess by adding more RAM and a very fast processor in the note 3, but it still isn't as snappy as it's competitors. the only reason to get the note is it's S pen functions which is way more useful than all it's major competitors (e.g. the xperia ZU or HTC ONE MAX). if u r in sales and marketing or need to do quick presentation, the note series is the only (and best tool) to do the job. but if u don't need to do these kind of stuff, other branded phones with 4.7" -5" (the Z1 or Nexus 5) are better in every aspect.

simply put, DON'T get the note 2, get the note 3 if u need S-pen and a super huge screen. get the Nexus 5 if u want the best android experience with the least amount of money. get the Z1 for best camera (with that amazing physical shutter button).

for better multitasking for sure, but crucially, to cure the horrible lag. after update to 4.3 with the TRIM function maybe will reduce the lag further

4.3 will definitely improve on the responsiveness of the note 2, but i doubt it will make a huge impact, just making the experience bearable because the hardware just can't cope with that much crap in the OS. personally i'm not a fan of touchwiz, it's design is ugly and there are just too much bloat. 90% of the stuff samsung put in there are totally useless. not to mention the build quality is truly world class disgusting plasticky. after holding the HTC ONE and the iphone 5, then go hold the note (even the 3) i felt like washing my hands immediately.

all those plastic phones, nokia feels premium, just felt good in the hands, samsung should learn from them. the biggest problem with the note 3 plastic is not the back anymore (because it feels like leather) but when u view from the side and hold it, the disgusting feeling came back instantly. and u WILL be touching those disgusting sides pretty often because that thing is so big, u HAVE to grip it.

because samsung screwed up their S3 with the spec (too little RAM to run that stupid bloated touchwiz skin of theirs) and made it even more lag than the note 2, not to mention the instability of the system (i got so much complaints from customers about system and data corruption after only 7-8 months). and because ppl here are screen whore, they will just go with anything that is big.
