Good idea.

I'm wondering about New SMB myself. Any idea where you can get it for that price?

We shouldn't have this thread as it might spoil the market for some shops.

Some of them use the same supplier/distributor, and if they were to find a price comparison which ISN'T the same(e.g. marked up/down), someone would be in trouble.

Your NDS game pricelist should be targeted around RM100-160. That's all I can say. Anything above that is rediculous.

Spoil the market?

It's the information age my friend, if we can find out about the price here, they should've known better rite?

Most of all, in the end, consumer wins. smile.gif

I agree with sihumchai, different shop will have different overhead cost. The easiest way is to know the SRP in USD, and then you can come up with estimated cost in RM. Online shop such as play asia sell their close to the SRP.

I don't deny what you're saying, as shops have different overhead costs depending on their location.

However, I don't understand why publishing the price list will 'spoil the market' for these retailers. Just look at how lowyat operates.

So it all is up to the user to choose where they wanna get their stuff from. Price is not the only detemining factor. If that's the case, you won't see companies like starbucks around. smile.gif

that's why i said that 1st and foremost, you must know the SRP for the games and then go from there. Like you said before, now is the information age and you can easily find it online.

imho, not everyone will be quoted the same price when you are buying a game in our local shop. but none the less, it is no harm in posting the price you pay.

For myself, i found these shop(s) have good pricing : TNL, Sg Wang Plaza (top floor).

For SMB i paid rm 130 for it and Big Brain rm 95

i thought these forums cater mainly for consumers. how can low-pricing be bad for consumers?

yay!!!
actually, i think spoiling the market would be like:
"i'm getting my DS lite direct from US this week. who wanna bulk with me at RM400++?"

now, that would be a real market killer tongue.gif

<Putting on my business-da-man hat> While I do understand with sihumchai comment of "...as it might spoil the market for some shops.", it is stated with the view that the customer (thats me and a large percentage majority of forumers here) is willing to fork out an Nth amount of money for their Nindy love. N=slightly higher percentage of the usual Suggested Retail Price (SRP).

<takes off the B-hat> while this means Mr.shop-man makes a tidy sum for every sale, overall prices remain "artificially" high. With more games coming up this year, a righteous circle of increasing new gamers and buyers (or just plain old ones) will continue to purchase more and more games for his / her enjoyment.

But with bigger selection of games coming up, customers appreciate lower prices, which enable him / her to buy more games. More games equal to higher sales, and everyone benefits.

But what if prices remains "artificially" high, citing rising costs of various examples?
-- Buyers remain at the sideline, holding on to their wallets
-- Buyers find other cheaper source of entertainment
-- Buyers find other "similar" or "duplicate" form of the same entertainment

Make the pie bigger so everyone can enjoy it, or just eat less pie.

My general rule of thumb is US retail price times 4.5.

some would go up to 5X to shark you tho.
