It's scary to me not because of the hardcore level of this figure, but because of the head which looks so big (and her hair made it worse)

Kaitendoh's 1/8 Homura - Senran Kagura. 9250yen, late March 2014 release.

Somehow, Senran Kagura seems to be the new Ikki Tousen where everyone makes a figure of the characters in there but almost none of them get it right.

This thing arrived in the mail earlier~ Well, i just needed more figures - on the cheap, for photography purposes, because i dont want to keep shooting the same figure i have currently. But, im unlikely to do a full review for this figure since i got her preowned RM 120 including poslaju. Probably just a quick overview with a batch of photos only.

Since this is just an average figure instead of a top tier one, she's a perfect candidate to test myself to make an average figure look good in photos. If i wanted a proper Jubei figure i would go for Alter.

There's another figure expected to arrive tomorrow, provided there's no delay. That will be =w=

Original ink ain't cheap though. But then, the putting the figure with that Canon ink package there and i was like, eh, looks like a perfect model for Canon. LOL

I very cheapskate one, ain't doing free advertising for Canon lol. The only products i use for Canon is the printers, heck, i even shunned Canon for their DSLRs and went with Nikon although Canon's DSLRs can use Nikon lenses (but not the other way round).
Weather not nice here recently, or else i bring Jubei to the pool for a shoot, I guess i'll just settle things by shooting photos indoors sometime next week.

My reason was, Canon is a Jack-of-all-trades company (like Samsung, Sony), so im less likely to buy their products, especially those that are expensive. Nikon, on the other hand, specializes on cameras only, and companies like Nokia, HTC, etc specializes on phones when it comes to hardware. I tend to buy products of a company which specializes in only one single line of related products. For flashguns, i no $$ for those real Nikon Speedlites which are expensive, im using cheap third partv ones that actually get the job done very well like Meike, YongNuo or Viltrox.

Regarding shooting a figure at a pool, as, i was planning to do that, but i will go at a time where there are very few to almost no people (say, 1 or 2pm like that), not because i cant stand the stares of people, but people get in the way of my work, like 'cameo' in the background of my photos, which i definitely dont want to happen (and hard to avoid when there are a number of people around). I have 2 pools at my disposal, one is my own campus one, the other is the one near my home, it's a private club of some sort with a pool, tennis courts, gym, etc.

That mouse sonico is tempting. And,

I dun have any doggie style figures yet so i might consider, but i dont think i will preorder if it's not exclusive in some way.

I'll stick to my new method of grabbing one after release when she goes down to between 6500-7800yen price range (im sure her RRP will be between 9333-12000yen). You know, 20+ - 30% off after release in Amiami is very common nowadays, and unlike years ago, regular release figures hardly become rare and followed by market price surge nowadays.

No, i mean, after the figure is released. Preorder is often higher price one. You want book early, you pay more, something like that. I got Max Fac's Asama Tomo for 7300yen (RRP 9333yen), Nyaruko (shipping) for 6580yen (RRP 9333yen). If This one goes for 13800yen, after release can get one between 9k-10k yen.
It's only when the figure is at a very high wanted level or online exclusive of some sort i will only preorder.

And, this one will be both bigger and taller than Olivia, just that Olivia has big wing span.

I beg to differ; because, i dont think many people know much about Shingeki no bahamut - and i dunno how many people out there are like me - buy because the figure looks nice but knows nothing about the character. It's not some mainstream anime or character that spawned a huge fanbase like Miku, BRS, Saber, etc. Saber Lily & BRS used to get rare easily but not anymore because the quantity of figures produced today is a lot higher. And, AmiAmi is not the only one that offer 20-30% off regularly; CDJapan also does that - not to mention i have hunted for low prices in Yahoo Japan Auction twice already and it saved me quite a bit despite requiring proxy. Unless it's old rare figures or exclusive ones, you wont see it going high in YJA.

1 thing for sure, dun judge the demand for a figure from MFC's threads, unless that figure's entry enters the home page's hot item - then you'll have to watch out. And, for every 10 ppl who post "i want this!" in FB, only 5 or 6 of them will order or buy, unless they said "ordered!!". 20-30% off isnt bargain bin price point to me, over 40% is what i call bargain bin price point. many of the figures which are supposed to be hot item also still in stock in some places with some discount.

My best was only 30% off RRP.
But the most mind boggling i have seen has to be koto's Inia Sestina in AmiAmi, 59% of > 3680yen only if not mistaken.
I have had friends who got 50% off Madokami so that's quite an excellent deal.

Nyaruko arrived yesterday.



This one is taken with a single mounted bounce flash from the left. Nyaruko is quite tricky to photoshoot because her ahoge creates a shadow on her face =.=.
Only a very acute angle of light source (and additional lights from other directions) could prevent it. next week exam liao but tonight i might proceed with shooting photos.

Dafuq, twin cannon launcher on her chest is it?
She must be wearing bowls because the boobs are pretty much pointing forwards (doesnt seem to be sagging to the direction of gravity force)
