The best card for a first timer, IMO will be OCBC Blue/Pink Mastercard. Not the best in terms of benefit, at least it is simple to use. Whatever you spend, you get 1% back.

this cc still open for application? i thought they temporarily (or permanently) stopped it to give way to the silver cc.

While filling out employment application form... my possible future employer asked...

1) are you financially in debt?
well... i'm debt free except for the BT 0% to Maybank... it does count right?

2) because one of the details required are, type of loan. so BT is what type of loan?

EDIT:

3) they ask if i have any financing facilities with BANK xxx?

so... does credit card falls under financing facility or not?
*
1) no, i believe it doesn't count
2) bt is not a loan, just a cc debt, or if you want, can call it cc loan
3) yes

thanks. if having done BT doesn't count as i'm in debt, i dont need to answer further on what 'loan' i have. unless there's a 3rd person who disagrees and says BT is in a way putting me in the group of 'financially in debt'.
*
great, so you are going to work in a bank (i assume)? smile.gif

having done bt only will put you as a active/frequent cc user. biggrin.gif

Hello Sifu-s, can I know holding multiple cards will affect one's credit score? how's the formula looks like? 1 card = RM200 from your gross salary ?
*
it depends on the credit limit of your credit cards.

Hi, want to ask about applying credit card.

My salary has about 2500. I want to apply the card for petrol, dining and shopping. But each transaction I will never make it more than 500. But most important is petrol cause I travel a lot. I heard there's some cash rebate for petrol. And maybe dining as well.

Applying need at least about 3 months bank statement. How do I make my statement to qualify to apply card? Mind sharing how do you all apply? What I need to prepare before applying.

Rm500, 000

please reply my question. how come bank didn't call or do any verification even to my phone or company prior approval.
*
yeah, some banks don't call for verification. for example, my recent cc application from rhb. when i apply i believe my application won't be approved. after around 1 week+ no verification call, i confirmed that my application must have been rejected. but after 2 weeks i received one package (with 2 rhb cc inside) thrown to the floor of my house compartment by poslaju because i'm not at home that day.

Oh. I apply with both banks. First time to own CC to be exact. One for Rm500k. Another for RM350k. What i feel weird is both banks dont call for any verification prior approval.

Or maybe i apply through online and someone from sales department ask me to fill the form and fax. I got my approval within 3 days for both banks.
*
you must have priority banking with both banks right?

for the renewal of credit cards when it expired, will the bank renew it automatically? or we need to request/apply manually with proof of income again?

Well, i basically used it to purchase air ticket for my boss and his friends. Annual swipe around 20-30K plus another 10-20K on office equipments etc. Just that sometimes forgetting to pay really make those rebate hangus.

I was turned down by MBB for not submitting some docs
*
actually you may just call the cs to waive all the finance charges or late charges. most of the time they will waive it for you. i forgot to pay many times but so far i never paid any charges because they waived for me after i call.

*
they will send you the monthly cc statement and the gst rm50 will be there. if you didn't pay within 20 days of statement date, interest will be charged and late payment fee as well.

wanna ask for the 2nd year:, if the statement has listed the GST & Annual Fees and the bank can't waive it for me

So now I plan to cancel the card
1) GST I no need to pay as long as I no use
2) Annual Fees I must clear it before cancel?

thanks
*
if you plan to cancel your cc, af is much more easier to get waived if compared to gst (as long as there's no more new transaction by you after it's imposed).

Hm.. i just want to confirm tat it is the whole hong leong bank ebanking platform, and not just me alone suffering.. haha.

well if tat is true, tat is very lousy of hong leong ebanking platform.. considering that this is considered a big bank in malaysia.. but facilities is not so big after all...

i had checked.. rhb mbb and pbb online ebanking platform enable me to select tnb syabas and many more other vendor for credit card payment..

Looks like those hong leong bank wise card with rebate option on utilities selection will sound stupid.. u need to pay at kiosk.. waste of time n petrol n parking and all the hassle..
*
as suggested above, those with hlb wise is using uob payonline for its free service to pay utilities.
