2nd largest or using by samsung doesn't always mean good.
wanna know why majority of chinese phones using mtk instead of qualcomm, or ti-omap or tegra?
because mtk is cheaper to mass produce than others.
cheaper cost=higher profit margin whistling.gif

replace samsung? i can't even understand what that means.
anyway, they didn't even follow gpl license agreement. thats another reason why manufacturers outside of china doesn't favor them instead of others. manufacturing chipset for android phone means u have to tinker and change something in android kernel which is gpl licensed, need to release that changed kernel part source afterwards, but they refuses to do so.

then those lenovo phones suites u well already.
got big screen, big battery and fairly cheap too.
anyway between both the lenovo u listed, the P780 got higher capacity battery so its safe to assume that it would give u much longer battery life than the S920.

yaya... so far these two are in my consideration. I also prefer p780 because its battery is far more than S920, while S920 is little bit bigger screen than p780.

please don google " mediatek xxx thrid xxxx " and use random article as source , that isnt the way .

And why keep edit your post . Just now 2nd , now 3rd . I guess 20th is a legit place .

Anyway , for you to think a company which produce only cortex A7 chip can be on 2nd largest manufacturer is quite a funny statement . It surpass Intel or qualcomm ?

He mean mediatek is bad as it using A7 architecture which i agree with .
However if must choose between that two , i would choose the one with larger battery smile.gif

And for the price range ( i assume about RM1000 )
perhaps galaxy s3 is better hmm.gif
Or xperia sp hmm.gif

mediatek chip during dual core times is quite bad, slow and lags.

but now with it's quad core, it is much improved. performance, speed and stability. and it's up coming 8 cores chip would be rivalling of Snapdragon 800 speed.

you can either stuck in the past of join in the new wave. biggrin.gif

Is still individual taste and preferences. I've been having super brand or good brand of stuff, but first use (not even 3days) already need to send back for warranty claim in the end. Whatever quantitative or qualitative is just supporting details, there's still extreme data which will be excluded so we wouldn't know. Hence, use it or don't, it's as simple as A,B,C:)

ps: it's jst my personal opinion. Peace

I have been using Dual Core Motorola for quite some time. Never notice what is called Drag.. it does what I needed to do. Pain these days is battery life, hopefully this Lenovo can help me with that.

I am leaning towards P780 too .. anyone you know using this ?

I need to know if the phone has Orientation sensor. I have a need for it.

Thanks for your reply. Some time back I played with a Lenovo A860 and it doesn't have orientation sensor, although the screen rotates.

DishAlinger - app wont work. I use this app to align dish antenna. Thats the reason my query.

Anyway I already have a P780 and so far it rocks. Rooted using one click root and removed unwanted lenovo stuffs. super smooth and finally a phone that I need not to charge 2 times a day smile.gif

Lenovo should have packed a little more juice in terms of battery..
