hi guys,~ need some opinion in a business plan

Planning to sell some branded jewellery and sell them in stores.
Based on my calculations/prediction if sale-able it'll reek  a net profit of about 25%

Is a 20-25% profit business DO-able~?

Eg 10k investment:- 2k-2.5k return
*
Is it a monthly basis or annual basis (20-25%)?

Is cheaper cost a strong enough value proposition?
*
In my own opinion, cheaper cost usually comes with some sort of compromise in several aspect - and this usually is quality.
Sometimes, customers are willing to pay for a better product.

Thanks for the reply guys but what I wanted to say was the same product at a lower cost. Eg. A toiletry which retails at RM 20 but I try to sell it at RM 12 including shipping etc, is this a good enough value proposition from a customers perspective?

Can I attract customers with a lower cost for same or better products?
*
If it's the same product from a company, why not? I foresee sales will be okay. But I can't say as I don't look for toiletry products online. laugh.gif
On top of that, is it worth your time doing the business? Online selling like that must earn at least 30-40% margin.

Niche products might earn you. Normally the products like Olay/David Beckham etc can earn a premium compared to the normal Pantene/Rexona ones. The only problem I foresee is the cost of postage which might eat up pretty margins. 30-40% is possible for niche products without postage ;-)
*
Well if that's the case then it should be okay but if your indicative pricing is at RM 12 I don't see much profit to do the business at all on the consumer level. You might want to explore distributor or wholesaler channel though.

Aspiring entrepreneurs should not think about delaying marriage because of unstable business. Having a wife that accompanies you during your bad time will help you A LOT. If she's been through with you throughout the worse time, she deserves the best once you're successful.

Is there still intention to carry on this business relationship?

I've stopped all work related to the client(s) although the requests (work related) are still coming in.
I wanted to cut off but looking at such tough market conditions I can't afford to be choosy. Really in dilemma.
Most SMEs are cutting back on their spending this year.

sometimes your mindset will kill you.

you need to set a line to yourself. cant you just doing charity to the client right.?
people nowadays tend to abuse your kind ... because they felt your fear of no customers. they tend to take it as granted ..

so ... if u wan to secure business, better work on your advantages against competitor.

Yep it's true. But they are our VIP client. Used to pay a lot and on time. Recently they got a huge client delaying their payments.

QUOTE(NightHeart @ Nov 26 2016, 03:32 PM)
Depends on a lot of factors la.

Is your product/services vital to their business operations?

If yes, just cut supply until they clear off the debts. What's your policy when it comes to debt? Some people cut off based on credit limit some curt based on due dates.

Is the customer willing to talk about this poor payment? Is it a recent thing or this customer all the while is a bad pay master?

I've seen people actually going to the customer's office to force a discussion.
*
It's quite. My product is linked to their marketing and front line of the company. But this client has been investing in us during the early stages of my company.

If it's a recent problem, then should be fine. Set your limit aka don't let them drag until you yourself go bankrupt first, then if they breached the credit limit only no choice, either you bankrupt or they bankrupt.
