Haha. Won't die together. Most probably the least competitive shop will die off.
The rest will continue to survive.

Hi guys....old forumer  here. I'm looking into investing ard RM100k to RM150k to a new business. I have a lot of experience in the gates and grilles business. Also been doing some renovation works too...though on a small scale.

Recently I've been thinking of opening a self operated laundry shop. I'm able to get a investor to double the investment if its really viable. What do you guys think of this business?

In the meantime, I'm open to any suggestions and ideas. Thanks guys.

Hi, I am in the early stage of coin laundry business. My shop is currently under renovation and should be opened by mid November if there are no major hiccups.

I have one tip for you. Double your investment or triple it, however it is highly dependable on your area. Smaller shops tend to be overtaken easily if the area is good.

Interesting in ur biz... mind pm me bout it? Like how to get started?

There are quite some steps. But for a start, u need capital. And the bank is not going to loan it to you a few hundred k. Especially if you don't have the bank account and strong cash flow to back it up. You need a strong guarantor. Even than it is quite hard. Best bet is to get investors or borrow from family members.

Once money issues are secure, you can start planning other things. At least that is how o do it.

QUOTE(yw188 @ Aug 29 2022, 03:58 PM)
hi,

want to ask around.. Im taking a franchise, due to is franchise so i have to took the stock from the franchisor.. but recently, the stock (flour) that the franchisor provided for me got foreign matter inside the flour.. the flour cant be used due to got the foreign matter and the franchisor refuse to replace due to the flour i had open and that is not their fault..

but the problem is, in packing seem nice, cant detect any foreign matter inside and also haven reach the expired date.

may i know, in this case, any action to be taken or that is my loss?

Thank you
*
Take video from sealed packing and record it up until u show the foreign material in the flour. Hence they got no excuse anymore. U can file an official complain too if there is a channel for that.

May i know which franchise is this...flour..boba tea?

hi guys

making mistakes is part of the business journey.

recently, i made a silly and stupid mistake due to my own ignorance. RM 100 k poof (gone) just like that. it impacted my emotion badly.

I know some will say "RM 100 k is small amount, not RM 100 mil", but for small biz like me, it's almost my entire asset.

how you guys cope up and being strong after making mistake in business? to avoid being fall into emotional disease such as depression. (almost for my condition)

Hi, hope you are doing better. Like u, i once lost my entire savings. I cried, i listened to motivational videos, i took note of what has been and learn from it. Take some time to heal, its much better if u have friends who understand like those doing business too so they can relate to your circumstances. Then I stand up and continue forward. Im much better now and can recall those memories without pain now.

Btw I continue working while in pain. Autopilot mode and it helps as i get lost in work. Life goes on.

just dont think about it and move on, but be aware of lessons learned.  I had around 50K losses as well, for me it was a big amount and was painful. But you will eventually recover and make it back.

Ya. Most important thing is to calm down, take some time to heal and stand back up.

already took video for the recording and also already show and also complain to the franchisor. and i get scold from them and they refuse to change it due to the there will be foreign material naturally grow in the flour. and they still giving an example there will be no changes also if we buying flour from the supermarket which got the foreign material. at last just surrender to the franchisor.

this Franchisor is a company which really not responsible and take care for their franchisee. after the flour got foreign material growing problem, the franchisor can not supplying stock for me as a franchisee for almost 6 months. i did asked franchisor how can not supplying stock for almost 6 month what i need to sale, they said still got others items can sell and not they no stock from the factory closing down. just giving me such a nonsense answer. i did complain to the  PERNAS, unfortunately no action taken and ask me to discuss myself with the franchisor. lastly, the franchisor ask me to relocate due the poor sales from the opening. when i ask where i need to relocate and did franchisor can promise if the relocation can increase the sales? franchisor not even answering me the location for relocate and just said nothings is guarantee. But in this Company advertise "SATBLE ROI".

there are also problem in money which asking me the rental deposit, but in their account showing that my rental deposit is RM0 due to they took my rental deposit to rent the kiosk which the landlord is being to others company. (another meaning sublet the unit to me to runs the business). when i asking for the rental deposit, they shout at me, careful to my words and saying, and said i no giving them for the deposit and ask me look out. i just can ask them to check out and show them the rental deposit slip from bank to them again. and they keep quiet for a long period. due to i cant get any update for my rental deposit from them, i refuse to pay the rental, and they also not pay the rental to the origin landlord and the landlord give terminate notice to them for the kiosk. and i had to move out from the kiosk.

the company (franchisor) also got announce for the rebranding on MAY 2023 but until today already 1 year pass no even their shop / franchisee shop undergoing rebranding but they did force me to rebranding on JUL 2023 before i refuse and giving up the brand of this franchise cause the franchisor really not helping the franchisee and everytime franchisee discuss the problem with the franchisor, the franchisor mark me as only know to complain and promise me to do this and do that but they did nothings at all.

Boba Tea franchise at SABAH.

Wow i will feel so helpless if i'm you.
Only thing i agree with them is yes location cannot fully blame them even if they are the one suggesting it as u too agreed to it. Biz will always have risk and we as biz owners must do our due diligence too.

Either band together with other owners and make official complains so it will have more impact..or gv up on this venture..
