first page bro, it details everything, app you should use is either wakelockdetector(WLD) or betterbatterystats(BBS)

QUOTE(benny888 @ Oct 13 2013, 12:01 PM)
I use BetterBatteryStats app to check the wakelocks. You can download this app at playstore or google for the for the free version at Forum XDA
There are many sites on the web explaining what is wakelock and how to solve some of the common issues
You need to do some research/googling yourself to solve any serious wakelock issues - or post your log here as we have a few experts here ( not me) who can assist you further
Or get a start and read the excellent guide in post #8 of NOTE 2 Official thread by our same TS

Thanks for guidance. i'll take look at it biggrin.gif

Hi guys, just wondering. It seems my RAM usage stays at 1.4++GB now. After update I could drop below 1.0GB. But now it cant even drop below 1.4GB is it something I should be worried about?

Thank you! Seems weird cos I exited all apps. Closed all unused apps in the "running" section. Still cant achieve that below 1GB RAM usage. And at the same time, battery seems to be draining rather quick. Just downloaded wakelock. Will run some test and come back here again.

RAM are meant 2 be used . What's the point of having 1G of free RAM ? Besides , if u keep closing all your apps just 2 get free RAM , it drains even more battery since your app need 2 restart again after u close it

I know. Just wondering what is it that is using so much RAM atm. Just bugging me. At least when I really run out of RAM, I get to know what is causing it. Just double checking to make sure. Sorry and thanks :S

Why did you close the running apps..?
That sort of apps meant to be always running..lolz
Unless you root your phone and uninstall those.running apps..it will eventually start running again and gonna use your battery more. As a start..exit correctly any apps that you have finish using biggrin.gif

Article

Actually since android is based on linux, there are constant updates to improve memory management. You can read about the kernel devs always improving the scheduler.

So the article is still probably relevant but should be considered more of an intro.

BTW all post 5 here has a Wakelocks section with the latest posts on Note3 included.

Samsung built in apps do take up a lot of RAM . And I presume u r not rooted right ? Previously , I get like 500mb of free RAM , even drop to 200mb+ at times . That was on stock ROM . After flashing a custom rom with most of the bloatwares removed , RAM is idling around 800mb . There's even 1 post to remove 650mb of bloatwares from the firmware which i feel it's not needed .

Nice review. Considering that the nokia only focused on the camera, note3 may be considered the best all rounder thumbup.gif

Have you tried disabling Auto Network Switch?
Or try to change your router's WiFi channelling, channel 1,6 and 11. I'm using 6 for all my routers and work well, used to have this with my TP Link router. smile.gif
